Vehicle Detail
One of the nicest original trucks from the 1970's anyone will find. She was purchased new here in Oregon at Mc Robert Ford and has lived within 10 miles of that dealership since day-one. Ordered with every option available at the time. Lariat Camper Special with Ranger trim package and 460-4V with C-6 automatic transmission. Power steering and the large power DISC brakes. Factory air-conditioning, cruise control, delay wipers, tilt steering column, dual fuel tanks, lighted vanity mirror in sun visor, rear slider window, bumper guards, etc. Everything works perfectly! The A/C is ice cold and the cruise maintains exact speeds. 80,591 original miles. The truck is 100% RUST-FREE and in gorgeous condition. The exterior and interior are both outstanding. The factory drivetrain performs superbly and she drives like new. Even if I said nothing more, you'd have a clear impression after viewing the first few photos. For those that prefer a more detailed and long-winded description, here it is:The exterior is in amazing condition. She has NEVER been a work-truck or abused in any way. Garage kept almost all of her life. Body and paint are beautiful. All trim and chrome is also excellent. Both bumpers, stainless trim, grille, and moldings are outstanding. Paint holds an incredible gloss. There are no dings or dents. All glass is crystal clear. Truck has spent it's entire life here in the mild climate of Portland Oregon. No pitting or tarnish. All bright-work and aluminum exterior pieces have maintained a near new shine. Walking up to this truck is like going back in time over 30 years. Of all the vintage vehicles that I currently have sitting in my garage, I receive more compliments and comments on this truck than anything else. Even my Hemi 'Cuda and 57 T-Bird don't generate the responses I get on this F250. Classic trucks in this condition are becoming extinct. They are never found like this anymore. It is simply a very rare, one-of-a-kind truck. The original interior is spectacular. Little to no wear. Seat, carpet, door panels and headliner are in wonderful shape. The entire dashboard area is excellent. All knobs, levers and switches operate perfectly. The heater/AC controls glide like they're going through butter. Absolutely everything works! All lights, gauges, wipers, heating and cooling system, etc, are functioning properly. The original carpet looks almost new. Again, they just can't be found in this condition. The Factory 460-4V engine is extremely strong. She starts easily warm or cold. There are NO ticks, misses or hesitations. The C-6 automatic transmission shifts like new. Even the kick-down into passing gear operates correctly. The truck accelerates and performs beautifully. Brakes, steering and suspension are tight and sound. The tires are new. Always serviced and maintained when needed. Typical fluid drips can be found on my garage floor but nothing out of the ordinary. There are NO squeaks, rattles or vibrations of any kind. 70mph is comfortable. She can be driven any distance without concern. This truck defines "turn-key". To clarify: Turn the key, put the gear shift in D and go. No quirks to mention, no lessons required, no hidden gremlins to fix.NOTE: I use the truck on sunny days to tow cars in my collection on my open car trailer to shows and events. Again- I attract more attention with the truck than I do with what's on the trailer. I will make a few brief comments under some of the upcoming photos. All of my eBay experiences have been enjoyable over the years as I've sold members of my collection. I'm grateful for the kind remarks and compliments I've received. My opinions have guided me well and I stand behind them but please keep in mind that these are my personal opinions and observations and they may differ from your own. I welcome and encourage showing my truck in person to anyone with genuine interest. I live very near the Portland Oregon Airport and would gladly pick you up. Each photo shows the truck clearly and accurately. It is my intention to make this as close to you seeing and touching the truck for yourself as possible. Feel free to click on the "ask a question" link here in the auction and I will respond to all polite questions. Phone calls are great too. My number is 503-887-1231 and calls between 8AM and 9PM Pacific time are just fine. My auction runs for 7 days and is scheduled to end on Monday evening, the 26th of March at 7:30PM Pacific. I reserve the right to end my auction early in the event I accept a genuine offer and the truck becomes no longer available.PLEASE, read my terms of sale located near the bottom of this screen. I'm a kind-hearted person but I will not bend on these basic terms unless previously discussed during the auction. A little communication goes a long way. NO RESERVE AUCTIONI did not set a reserve price on my Camper Special. All that I ask in return is for your bids to be real and your intent to purchase be sincere. I personally took every picture you're about to see with my Canon digital camera. No photo has been altered or enhanced in any way. This is my truck and these pictures are true to her in-person appearance. Thanks for your time, DAVE This is the original interior. Even the carpet is day-one original. One of the most sanitary and original engine compartments you'll find. Heading into Downtown Portland the day these pictures were taken. MINT grille area and bright-work. Even the lower rocker panels are excellent. Tiny paint chips can be found on the edge of the bed-side just behind the cab from the limited driving this truck has done. Only seen from this angle. They could be easily touched up but I prefer bragging about original condition. Factory original Ford camper mirrors. Original hubcaps are nearly perfect. These are the original license plates and the only set to ever be on the truck. Looking down the sides is nothing short of impressive. Absolutely no waviness or washboard effect. Exceptionally straight. She is as highly optioned as they come. She has every piece of optional trim possible and it's all gorgeous. A Chinook Camper was installed when new. Truck and camper were kept inside when not in-use. The cargo area has done very little hauling. Exterior side compartment. Aftermarket tachometer and trailer brake set-up. No excuses to make. Very minimal wear from extremely limited use. Yes, this is the original plush carpeting. I do have floor mats. The original leather wrapped steering wheel is excellent. There is a little blem on the left corner of the woodgrain. The cassette radio had been in-place since 1979. It works perfectly and looks like the factory boys put it there. NEVER smoked in. Factory delay wipers. Factory tilt steering. Every gauge functions perfectly. Both gas tanks register on fuel gauge. These are the original total miles traveled in 34 years. 80,591 Everything is correctly in-place and hooked up. The radiator is new. I can't even find anything getting brittle on this truck. All wiring, plastic tubing and rubber hoses are still soft. With the exception of the added coolant overflow tank, she appears as she would have in 1978. One of the finest original examples. Spare tire has never touched the ground. NEVER exposed to a salted road or chemical de-icers. The undersides are outstanding and 100% solid. Even the backsides of all structural and body panels are GORGEOUS. Yes, I do have all of the factory camper hold-down brackets. I removed them for cosmetic purposes. I never intended to have a camper. It's a show vehicle for me. This original mounting hardware is hard to find and easy to bolt back in-place. A correct era camper in matching condition would be neat. My affection for this truck only fuels my ability of providing an honest description. She really is a spectacular rig in beautiful condition. At 44 years of age and a passionate 25 year collector, I have a deep appreciation for originality. This truck defines why I have that appreciation. Within seconds, you realize exactly what kind of life she's had and the real condition she's in. Always loved and always cared for. Rare is an understatement. Thanks again for your time- Terms of Sale: 34yr old vehicle being sold AS-IS: Please read and agree with the following: I have described my truck honestly and to the best of my ability based on 25 years of owning and driving classic cars. I have 100% faith in the drivability of this truck and to my knowledge everything is in excellent working order per my written description above. I have free and clear Oregon title in my possession. I would drive this F-250 anywhere but she is 34 years old and routine service and repairs should be expected. If you are not comfortable with a sight-unseen purchase, please come see the truck for yourself or have an independent inspection performed PRIOR to bidding. I will not be responsible for the decisions of others. I would appreciate the winning bidder contacting me immediately upon end of auction just so the lines of communication are opened. My number is 503-887-1231. A $1000.00 deposit is due within 24 hours of auction ending preferably through PayPal just so we are both protected. Wire transfers and verifiable cashier checks are also acceptable. I'm an easy going person so if you need to make special financial arrangements just let me know BEFORE you bid and I'll try to help. Make sure if you are financing that your financial institution accepts the year and value of this vehicle before bidding. Please have your method of payment arranged prior to auction ending.TRANSPORT - SHIPPING I am happy to be an active and hands-on part of this process from start to finish but the buyer is ultimately responsible for pickup or shipping of this vehicle and any pre-purchase inspections need to be done BEFORE auction ending. If you wish to have it shipped using a service, I will gladly assist in loading and be present for the transport condition form and other reasonable help. Locating a transporter is the buyers responsibility but I can make recommendations and share the relationships I've built. Vehicle transport has become very reasonable. I personally use a privately owned trucking company. They have handled my transport needs perfectly for the last 4 years with careful handling, excellent rates and fast service even all the way to the East Coast. I will provide contact info at your request. Dependable Auto Shippers (D.A.S.) is a transporter that eBay recommends and my experiences with them were just fine. My location zip code is 97214. Coast-to-Coast transport is around $1200.00 and even less the closer you are to Oregon. Shipping to Australia, Europe and other Countries has also become affordable and easy to arrange. If you are outside of the United States or Canada, you MUST contact me BEFORE bidding. If you are an eBay member with negative history or have a (0) or low transaction score, I need to hear from you just to verify your sincerity and accept your bids as genuine. We all started from (0) and I'm happy to give a leg up. I reserve the right to cancel bids for these reasons. Communication is all I ask. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time if the vehicle is no longer available or otherwise SOLD.
