Vehicle Detail

***The undisputed king of the desert, the Honda XR650R has earned championship after championship thanks to its lightweight aluminum frame, long-travel suspension and a powerful yet dependable liquid-cooled engine.*** History of the bike:I bought this bike from the original owner in March 2011. He only rode it in between foreign military deployments for 5 years. It was only ridden off road as it was never converted to a street legal motorcycle while he owned it in California. It was never raced or abused and had an estimated 70 hours of use. It still had the original tires on it with decent tread when I bought it. I bought this bike after moving back west with the hopes of ridding off road more. My job keeps in the outdoors almost every day and I just don’t have the desire to spend my spare time ridding right now. I only put about 70 mostly off road miles on the bike since I got it. I completed the conversion to a Nevada street legal motorcycle on April 20, 2011. The conversion information is listed below. I have a clear Nevada title for this bike in hand.I added most of the additional and new components when I bought the bike. I listed the prices for all of the extras that are included or were added to the bike to give you a better idea of what was invested into the bike. The tires have about 70 mostly off road miles on them. They are excellent tires and highly recommended for the XR650R.The bike does have the electric starter and it works great. It can definitely come in handy when you are stuck on a hill and need to restart the bike. I took off the Acerbis 6.3 gallon tank and put the stock tank back on to allow easier access to the engine and spark plug. It is a huge tank and will allow you to ride forever. I bought the tank new and it doesn’t have a scratch on it. The plastics and seat are in overall good condition. They do have the normal scratches and marks so please refer to the pictures to see the exterior condition. The bike is all original (except for what is listed as upgraded) and has not had any major work done on it. The bike is titled as a “reconstruction” since it was converted from an off road vehicle to a registered street legal bike. Please refer to the Nevada Off Road Conversion Information section below. Please refer to the Nevada DMV website link below for further information about the conversion. Due to the conversion from an off road only motorcycle to a registered street legal motorcycle Nevada permanently changes the title to a “reconstructed title” due to the conversion. The bike can be reregistered without any problems in Nevada and Arizona and many other states. Please check your state laws on off road motorcycle conversions if you want to register this motorcycle. The motorcycle cannot be registered in California according to the information that I have received. (http://www.dmvnv.com/pdfforms/equipreqmc-conversion.pdf) Known Problems: The small plastic trip meter housing attached to the front tire cracked. It is a non-essential component and costs about $25.00 to replace. The rear tail lights have been removed. The long stalks on the tail lights put the right side light too close to the muffler. The lights need to be replaced with smaller and/or shorter lights to keep them away from the heat of the muffler. I didn’t ever buy new ones but they only cost about $30.00 to replace both with LEDS.One of the battery cables got too close to the muffler and part of the plastic melted. It is only about a 1 inch piece and is easy to replace if you remove the gas tank and the battery. Transport, Shipping and Storage: I can possibly help transport the motorcycle to you. I would be willing to drive about 250 miles for the full cost of fuel.I can drop the bike off at a local facility (Las Vegas area) for shipping or hold it for shipping if you want to have it picked up.I will keep the bike stored in my garage for up to 4 weeks at no charge if you cannot come immediately after the end of the auction to pick it up.The buyer is responsible for any transport or shipping. The bike must be picked up and paid for within 10 days of the end of the auction unless other wise arranged. All transport, shipping and storage arrangements must be at least discussed prior to the end of the auction. Payment: $500 paypal deposit within 48 hours of the end of the auction.Cash or cashiers check (must clear before release) for the remainder within 10 days of the end of the auction. Location: I live about 45 minutes from Mccarran International Airport. My house is just outside of Henderson, Nevada. The bike is currently stored in my garage. Other: I can provide any other pictures that you may want and can answer any questions or concerns so please just send me a message.
