Vehicle Detail

*5 DAYS! NO RESERVE! HIGH BIDDER WINS!* *Super low mileage since new* *Original California provenance from day one* *Factory original duel treasure chest doors* First time offered for sale is my 1963 Volkswagen Single Cab pick up truck with only 130k original miles, proudly wearing its original vintage California black and yellow commercial license plate. To my knowledge this bus has been a 3-family owned bus since new. With my self being the third owner. This is the quintessential Volkswagen Transporter! This is a rare, sought-after and very original bus in many ways. This bus was purchased new in California in 1963 and was always treated like a member of the family ever since. I was told by the previous owner that it may still have the original engine and transmission. The engine was said to have been rebuilt at some point and being upgraded to a 1600 cc displacement. It runs great and drives great for a 49 year old vehicle. The transmission works great as well. This was my daily driver for some time and it always commands positive comments from people wherever it goes. All lights, blinkers, windshield wipers, horn and heater work. As it has it's typical issues for Vintage VW's...But it's structurally ROCK SOLID! The front lower valence, frame rails and out riggers are very solid and nice! Other than it being repainted at some point, I would call this a true survivor. It still retains all it's original white interior paint. Not many left like this one. It still retains it's original spare tire mount which are ALWAYS missing on these. It still has it's original Bilstein VW jack and even has it's OG VW ignition key! Many VW examples have been "restored" with varying degrees of competence. What are the odds of finding a 63 SC you can enjoy and drive while you fix it up? After 49 years and time moving through the swinging 60s and the 70s...well you know what happened to most of these. They no longer have wheels wells and many other artsy creations were made from these. This one has NEVER had anything hacked or cut on it! It's a real surprise that it survived 49 + long years unharmed-- a bus that has never been restored? Where does one find the winning needle in the haystack? Well look no further, you found it. This bus has it's issues like any 49 year old VW. It will need typical repairs such as: The lower nose, the rain gutter and pitting on roof in same area, the rockers, the typical spot where the treasure chest floor meets the wheel well and jack point on the passenger side, where the wheel well meets the jack point on the drivers side, the lower part of the gates, the RH & LH front floor & the battery tray. The paint is old and has been touched up over the years. Good enough to cruise around. The bed and treasure chest floor are in very good shape. The thing about Ca. cars is they rot from the inside out from water sitting in them...unlike back east cars which just crumble away from the outside in typically caused by road salt...which is nearly impossible to stop! Recent repairs and up grades that have been done to this bus in the last few years are as follows: New master cylinder, new hard brake lines front and rear, new KYB shocks front and rear, New carburetor, New Bosch 12v generator, New Bosch 12v Coil, New tie rods and tie rod ends, New BFG All Terrain Tires...that are still like new! That's about all I can think of now. The bus runs, drives, shifts, and stops great. This little bus is extremely FUN to drive. This is an excellent investment or addition to your personal collection. You would be hard pressed to find an Original 63 Single Cab as complete as this one! It has a clear Ca. title in my name! Overseas buyers are welcome to bid. Please contact Direct Express Inc. Chris Ortiz 310-863-4444 for a world wide shipping quote. Good luck and happy bidding. TERMS OF SALE: A $500 Pay Pal deposit is due immediately upon auction end. The final purchase price of the vehicle will be due and paid in full within (3) business days via bank deposit or wire transfer, US Postal Money Orders or Cash in person. Once the funds clear, the 1963 Volkswagen Single Cab will be released to the new owner. All payments must be verified and cleared by my bank. Please, only bid if you are a serious buyer and do have funds readily available. This is a 49 year old VW Single Cab and is nowhere near new or perfect. On Mar-09-12 at 20:01:42 PST, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention it also had a brand new fuel tank, sender and VDO fuel gauge installed in the past few years. On Mar-10-12 at 22:38:24 PST, seller added the following information: If you have zero feed back...please do not bid on this auction! Your bid will be cancelled and you will be blocked from bidding! I take my auctions very serious. This is too large of a transaction for someone with no track record on eBay! Thanks for your understanding. On Mar-12-12 at 16:49:15 PDT, seller added the following information: Not that it makes a lot of difference. But I need to ad, I made a mistake on the milage. The odometer reads 32003 at this time. Good luck!
