I purchased this car at the kruse fall auction at auburn ind.After purchase i found out motor in car is a tr6 engine.Since this engine used same block as gt6 motor this was a easy swap and tr6 motor has about 40 % more hp.A friend of mine who is a retired space shuttle mechanic went over every system of car and did the following.Replaced brake and clutch master cylinders..Rebuilt carburetors to show standard.Bead blasted and repainted exhaust manifold.Bead blasted and repainted air cleaner.all cylinders passed a compression test with no leak down.Valve cover was removed bead blasted painted and replaced.During this process exposed valve train was amazingly clean with no sludge noticeable.Installed new plugs, distributer and soild state petronic ignition.new tires -battery-and exhaust system were installed.Entire key system was replaced and all lock linkage systems were cleaned and serviced.The entire rear axles and brake system were removed and replaced.this includes both axles- universals-all seals -bearings -brake drums-linings- brake hardware and springs.The car is very solid with minimal surface rust for a 45 year old car.We did find rusted frame out- riggers which were cut out and replaced with new ones welded in place.The car drives straight and solid.The emergency brake system is missing however I have purchased a new one [270$] and can be installed by new buyer.When vehicle is started cold a shot of starter vapor is needed to start car which it does instantly.Once motor is warmed up car starts immediatly at all times.We contributed this to the fact car has tr6 engine which requires stromberg 1.75 carbs but had 1.50 carbs left on from original gt6 engine.The engine must run rich to eliminate any hesitation during hard acceleration.I would recommend replacing 1.50 stromberg carbs for tr6 1.75 ones.This sale is being forced by a divorce and more important my buddy mechanic failing health due to cancer.
