This is the Mercedes Wagon you have been waiting for! Used primarily as a "grocery getter" and as an "around town" car in the North Shore Chicago suburbs, this wagon has sustained very little wear and has been lovingly cared for in the hands of only three Lake Forest owners. At just over 94,000 miles, this car, with its gilded past, has many more years and hundreds of thousands of miles left in it. The car was first purchased for the Lake Forest estate of Chicago's prominent Wacker family and was meticulously maintained by that family and by the second owner at Knauz Mercedes Benz, arguably one of our nation's most reputable Mercedes service centers. In the several years of our owning the car, the car has continued to be meticulously maintained but by a Mercedes specialist who maintains our household's fleet of Mercedes and other fine European vehicles. The fourth owner will undoubtedly find the car to be in excellent shape, considering the age. This vehicle comes with all the fine Mercedes Benz standards, including leather seating, power driver and passenger seats, front driver/passenger/side airbags, sunroof, fog lights, Mercedes ski rack, and the iconic third row seat. The paint shines nicely and everything in the interior of the car is gently used and still in tip top shape cosmetically. There is but a small blemish of rust on the passenger wheel well (which is pictured) but considering the age, this is definitely minor. Additionally, the car comes with two keys (only one is pictured but there are two keys). The fourth owner will enjoy that new Michelin tires were purchased only a couple months ago and that the car has new brakes as well. Without a doubt, this wagon is capable of many cross country road trips or, if the fourth owner wishes, aptly suitable to continue to be used as a graceful around town car. The winning bidder will be required to pay a $200 deposit via paypal within 24 hours of the auction's end and be capable of paying for the car in full within 7 days of the auction ending. Preferably, cash or wire transfer should be the method of payment for the remaining balance due. Lake Forest is within close proximity to Chicago's O'Hare airport, and if necessary, arrangements can be made for the car to be picked up at the airport in the case that a winning bidder does not live in the Chicago area and must travel to pick up the car.
