I STARTED WITH A TURBO WAGON WITH DEAD 4 BANGER, PURCHASED A LIGHTLY ROLLED '95 CAMERO LT-1 5.7 LITER V-8 & TRANSMISSION, VOLVO CAME WITH THE VOLVO centrifugal LOCKING G-80 REAR END & 4:11 GEARS, I EXCISED DRIVE TRAIN & PURCHASED "JAGUARS THAT RUN" MOTOR AND TRANS MOUNTS, BOLTED RIGHT IN. That was the easy part INSTALLED A "TRANS GO"shift KIT IN 4L60E & K& N COLD AIR BOX USED THE GM COMPUTER, Installed a new OPTI DISTRIBUTOR AMERICAN MADE & HI-PO aluminum MARINE WATER pump. Moved gel cel battery to rear for better traction. 89,000 MILES ON CAMERO ODOMETER, I'VE ADDED 9,000 IN MY DEBUGGING PROCESS. I'm in process of installing a new air conditioning compressor & serpintine belt I had new refrigeration lines made last summer, I'll put my suction pump on system & bring it down to a negative vacuum B-4 recharging with R134A. IT is very hot where I live 125 degrees not uncommon This bad boy does the job it'll freeze your nads off. I installed the GM electric cooling fan on inside pulling and Volvo electric fan on outside pushing through A/C condenser & radiator. every thing from factory GM is on the motor, If you have a smog issue, i.e. inspection you must install a cat. I have 02 sensor in headpipe which regulates fuel mixture. I brought the two 2.5 "headpipes together into 1- 3" exhaust exiting in stock Volvo location with a nice powerful sounding muffler. Stock Gm exhaust manifolds so you don't have to deal with tightening the header bolts daily what a PINTA that gets to be over time. This car starts B-4 the engine rotates 360 degrees really then immediately settles into a smooth idle. Having been a hot rodder my entire 70 years I tell you there is some thing to be said for multiport fuel injection hot or cold starts immediately and idles like your Dad's Buick plus good fuel economy, If you can keep your foot off the floor very tempting. This car will bring out the worst behavior an an otherwise responsible adult. I offer this to you and it is a fact If you persuade your wife this is her grocery getter. take kids to soccer wagon, she'll lay down for that Bravo Sierra story as long as you drive like the police behind you. It actually operates like a ordinary Chevrolet but emits some unVolvo sounds from tail pipe. Only a gear head will detect the robust sounds coming from the engine bay. It just sounds , say, very healthy. Nothing is needed IMHO except a repaint PO put a ONE-DAY- CHEAP PAINT JOB ON WAGON, PICTURES MAKE PAINT LOOK OK, IT ISN'T OK I'm a very discerning car guy. If I was to keep, My first extra dough would be a high quality repaint. I'd prefer you pick up car in person so I can spend time telling you each and every little nuance & detail of what it took to get the myriad of wires connected to the right places. I'm moving onto my next project now.
