Vehicle Detail

First things first: If you have zero, low, or negative feedback please contact me before bidding. Also, if you dont have any recent activity on ebay contact me before bidding. Failure to do so will result in me cancelling your bid and blocking you from bidding. I spend a lot of time and money listing items on ebay and I want to make sure all bidders are legitimate. This auction is for a 1951 Whizzer Sportsman. These 20" bikes are very rare and hard to come by. They were only made from 1949-1953. These are not a Schwinn with a motor. They are Whizzer through and through. They were designed by a man named Don White. He originally made the prototype for his 7 year old son because he couldnt ride the full size whizzer. People saw his son riding it and called the factory wanting one. This resulted in the 20" sportsman being born. First announced in the September 1949 issue of the American Bicyclist as the "Star of the LIghtweights" as it only weighed in at 110lbs. More information on the bike can be found in a book called the Whizzer Sportsman - Star of the Lightweights by Robert J Lee. This is a very fine example of one if these great little bikes. The bike has been completely restored from top to bottom with nothing left out. The bike starts, runs, and rides as it should. The only thing known not to be original or at least in the original style is the seat. I could go on and on about how nice this bike is , but I will let you decide for yourself by looking at the pictures. There is no title and is sold with a bill of sale. As far as I know Tn does not title these bikes. As I am selling this for a friend, I have tried to describe this bike as accurately as possible and have taken very detailed pictures. I want there to be no surprises about the condition of this bike. You can click on the pictures below to view them in higher resolution. If you have any questions please ask them before bidding. If I dont know the answer, I will find out as soon as I can from the owner. Payment is due within 5 days of the auctions end via bank wire, cashiers check, or cash in person upon pickup. The bike will be held until funds are verified. I am in Murfreesboro, Tn, but the bike is located in Cottontown,Tn. It is a little northeast of Nashville. I will aid in working with your shipper if that is what is needed. But shipping is the buyers responsibility. The owner will be out of the country from March 23rd until April 7th. So all arrangements need to be made around these dates. Im sure I have forgotten something , so please contact me with any and all questions you may have. Thank you. On Mar-07-12 at 14:50:41 PST, seller added the following information: The reserve has been lowered to $1 over current high bid. Next bid will meet reserve. Seller decided to go ahead lower reserve. Thanks and good luck.
