This is a REALY nice 1989 560SEC in the perfect combination of black and black. This car has only 68,886 miles put on by only three owners. The original owner had the car for around 20 years and obvioulsy kept it in a garage and out of the elements because all the paint is original and shines beautifully. The second owner had the car a short time - less than a year. I have had the car for over two years now and have driven it very little - maybe around 500 miles. I have kept it in the garage and have driven it up to get ice cream a few times when the weather was nice. I bought it to sell it but really sort of fell in love with the car and it's originality. However, the time has come to let someone else enjoy this car! I have done a basic tune up including cap, rotor, plugs, wires and oil and that is pretty much it. It runs strong and has no problem starting. I did make sure to drive it every 3 months or so in order to keep it fresh and stop the tires from getting flat spots. I also add the 18"AMG Monoblock wheels along with the Michelin Sport Pilot tires. The wheels are authentic Mercedes and the tires have less than 1,000 miles on them. Just about everything in the car works and it is all original which is maybe the greatest feature of the car. No speaker holes or attempts to modify this machine that was over $90,000.00 new. It has every major option you would expect in Mercedes top car - Power seats with memory, cruise, ABS, Dual airbags, Climate control, Power windows and sunroof and probably much more. The sunroof was the only option for this year and it has it. In an effort to be compete, I will disclose a few things that would be needed to make the car flawless. These do not take away from the car but if I was buying it these are the things I would want to know: Most of the these Mercedes from this era suffer from a high idle problem. It is almost impossible to diagnose. Good news is that while my car does occasionally have the high idle issue, I can prove that it is the Throttle Position Sensor by tapping on it when the engine idles to 1,500 RPM. Tap the idle position sensor and the engine comes down to 800 RPM and remains there. Further good news is that I have the Idle Speen Sensor part and it is included in the price. Also, the headliner in the back of the car is getting loose. The material is fine so I believe that some spray adhesive would be all that is needed. The handle for the interior drivers door is somewhat broken. It works every time but you can feel from the inside when you open the door that the handle is loose. The rear windows work but do go up slower than what would be normal. The woodgrain on the center console below the armrest is broken in a few places. There is about a quarter size starburst in the windshield just above the dash on the drivers side. Also the seat belt extenders do not work. Other than these minor things the car is awesome. The paint is great and the interior looks really nice. No smoking in this car. The engine is very strong and the gears shift like they should. No leaks of any kind and the car does not smoke at all. Engine sounds smooth and there are no vibrations. It is not perfect, it is a 23 year old car. But it is in nice condition and the picture show it has been well cared for. This is a fine machine that will make someone very happy and you will be proud to drive this rare car. There aren't many low mileage original condition examples of this model around any more. Best news is this car will be sold on Ebay. I am not entertaining local offers or buy it now. We will let the market tell us what this car is worth. It will sell to the high bidder! Unfortunately, this car was listed and sold about two weeks ago and the high bidder had a change in his personal circumstances that made it impossible for him to complete his bid.
