Vehicle Detail

I'm offering my 82 Scrambler for sale due to way too many projects, I'll never get to all of them. This is a true barnfind, but it is not without flaws. It was owned by an elderly couple in IN who purchased it new then age forced them to quit farming and park it in the barn. Their neighbor who was hunting on their farm found it and bought it with the intent of restoring it. He never did, he just drove it. I bought it with the intent to restore it, I never did. Like him I just drove it. I did put new wheel bearings and u-joints in the front as well as new front turn signals and an aluminum radiator. The little Jeep has never left me stranded. It has been a dependable every day driver since I've owned it. The only modification is the aluminum radiator. It still has it's original 258 straight six and 5 speed tranny. The 4 wheel drive works great and it has fairly new tires. No problems ever! Everything works as it should. All guages, wipers, heater, turn signals and headlights. It passed state inspection when I bought it. I quit driving it a while back when the license ran out and the insurance was due. I have too many vehicles to license and insure. It does have some of the usual rust that every Scrambler gets. There is some in the bed, rockers and floors. None around the windshield, cowl, fenders or frame. Usually the frames on these rust pretty badly, but I have looked and unless I missed it, there's not any. I have the little sideboards for it too. They were on there when I bought it and I took them off. The top and doors are in good shape, but the seats have some tears at the seams. After driving it a while I just enjoyed driving it as is. The sides look a little rougher than they are. Before she parked it the elderly lady painted the sides with a brush! I can just see her doing that. She was in her 80's. It's not even thick, it will come off at the carwash. Shouldn't hurt anything anyway for resto purposes, it all has to come off anyway. Folks, this is a good little daily driver or resto project and it's not twenty thousand dollars! If you want a good running Scrambler and don't mind replacing a piece of metal a little at a time this one fits the bill. My plan was to make one repair at a time and that way I could still drive it. I'm just worn out with everything else I have around here. Bid with confidence, she runs good! SOLD AS-IS, NO WARRANTYOn Mar-02-12 at 11:48:53 PST, seller added the following information: NOTE: I have a bonus for the first bidder to hit the buy it now. I have brand new rockers, bed corners, floorpans and a left front fender I'm going to throw in at the "buy it now" price. I planned on selling these separate because I have more than the asking price in this Jeep. These are not cheap foreign crap. They are licensed by Chrysler Corp. and stamped in the U.S. They are much higher but they fit. That's well over 1,000.00 in panels that you will receieve for the total price of 3750.00. Also, I forgot to mention that there is a crack in the windshield on the passenger side. It won't keep it from passing inspection, but it's there as well as some pitting on the side glasses cause by sparks from welding while repairing the door frames. They all rust where the frame for the glass meets the door and I welded in new metal a while back. They are now very solid. So, for 3750.00 you get the Scrambler and the new panels. ONE MORE THING! IF YOU WIN THIS VEHICLE IT'S YOURS. SEND THE 500.00 DEPOSIT IMMEDIATELY! PAY THE BALANCE BY CASHIERS CHECK OR CASH. NOT ALL THAT LONG AGO A GUY BOUGHT A VEHICLE FROM ME THEN SHOWED UP TO KICK TIRES. WHEN I WOULDN'T NEGOTIATE HE DIDN'T FOLLOW THROUGH COSTING ME ABOUT 140.00. I HAD GIVEN AN HONEST DESCRIPTION, HE JUST WANTED TO TRY AND STEAL MY TRUCK. I DON'T CARE IF YOU'RE MY NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOR, WHEN YOU WIN THIS AUCTION PAY THE DEPOSIT IMMEDIATELY!! IF YOU CAN'T LIVE WITH THAT, DON'T BID...
