Hello, let me start by saying that I realize how stressful it can be to buy a vehicle sight un-seen. I don't think a paragraph & 2 or 3 pictures is enough to accurately describe any vehicle, let alone a top of the line diesel pick-up. I want you to know everything I know about anything I list. For that reason, my postings tend to be a little on the long side. I also post 24 super sized pictures. Please take the time to read the item description & view the pictures. If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. I own a street rod shop & have sold vehicles to buyers all over the world. Everyone seems to be very happy with what they buy from me. I'm sure you will be also. DESCRIPTION- This is NOT your average utility truck! This Duramax Diesel was bought brand new by Bellsouth Telecommunications Inc on 07/12/2001 & has been operated by that company here in GA until I was able to purchase the vehicle at one of their fleet auctions. Bellsouth is owned by AT&T which is one of the largest companies in the Untited States. They are NOT some little local company who may or may not take care of their trucks. Bellsouth is well known for maintaining their equipment & for that reason, their vehicles are highly prized when they come up for sale. After purchasing this Chevrolet... I can see why! This truk is AMAZINGLY clean & tight! After driving this truck, it is VERY obvious that it has been serviced regularly & properly. It is also VERY obvious that this truck has never done a hard days work! This truck is NOTHING like what you would expect to find from a (company / work vehicle)! EVERYTHING works just as it should. The truck drives very much like a new vehicle. The body is as straight as an arrow. The interior is very nearly perfect. AND SUPER CLEAN. The utility body is as nice as you will ever find without buying a brand new bed. MSRP on this Chevy was nearly $40,000.00... & that was with no bed! The Altec service / utility body installed on this truck is top of the line! It has many options such as hidden under-bed-floor storage, reel / spool holder, drinking cooler mount, headache rack etc... Retail on this bed was right around $10,000. This is a super rare vehicle which cost AT&T $50,000.00 +/- to have built! Now it is being offered to you at NO RESERVE!!! I know that you are going to see that this truck has 175,503 miles showing & automatically think it is worn out. Please don't make that mistake! This truck looks, runs & drives like a truck with 25,000 miles! It's very nearly perfect! It's easy to see that, this company takes better care of their trucks than most of us take of ourselves! NOTE- Please keep in mind that a regular pick-up bed from ANY 2001-07 Chevrolet or GMC long bed pick-up will fit right on this truck without any modification. As long as it is a full size truck... it doesn't matter if it is 2wd or 4wd... it doesn't matter if it is a 1500 or 2500... it just needs to bed a standard long bed pick-up. And they made SOOOO many white trucks, it should be easy to find a bed that you can just bolt on & go... without even needing to have it painted. Plus this service body is in such great shape, you should be able to sell it for more than you will have to pay for a pick-up bed. Then you will have a VERY RARE, single cab, 2wd, Duramax Diesel Chevy pick-up truck! BODY & PAINT- This truck is beautiful! All of the body panels are string straight. I can find only 2 tiny door dings on this truck whole truck! The fenders are perfect. The hood is perfect. The doors are perfect. The roof is perfect. There is not one single hail ding. This is a truck that is built to work so you would expect to see a dent, or scrape, or something... but there is nothing! The AutoCheck will show you that this vehicle has NEVER been in an accident. All of the door hinges & latches are as new. There is no door sag or drop at all. Everything is as tight as it can be. The paint is 100% factory original & is also in very good condition. You may notice in the pictures, there is a little decal residue remaining on each door. I have removed some of it & it seems that all of it can be easily removed. I just simply haven't had time to do it. It comes off with brake cleaner or acetone & a little elbow grease. The factory paint underneath looks great. I will try to find the time to remove the rest of it before the auction ends. There are no noticeable scratches. I did see a couple of small spots of touch-up paint where the factory paint had been chipped. I did nothing more than hand wash this truck & just look how it shines. It is completely dry in the pictures yet you can see my refelection & the reflection of nearby buildings & trees in most of the photos. Just imagine how it would shine with a professional detail & wax! There is no oxidation on any of the trim, or the weather stripping, or the tail light lenses, etc... This is a Silverado so it has factory chrome bumper & grill treatments & fender flares. Plus many other exterior options. This GM pick-up is a 1 owner, life long Central South Carolina vehicle so there is absolutely NO RUST or corrosion on anything.... anywhere! This truck has never been used off road so the underside is as clean as the outer body! UTILITY / SERVICE BODY- Altec has always been known as the premier manufacturer of utility bodies. These beds are built to last with the user in mind. It is perfectly matched to this Chevy. Driving the truck, you would never know it has anything other than a pick-up truck bed. It is just as maneuverable as any other single cab, long wheel base truck! It's not big & bulky like most service trucks. This is a 6 cabinet model with optional side to side pass-through in the front cabinets... and divided under bed floor storage which is accessed by opening the tail gate. All of the locks, latches, hinges etc... work just as they should & are as tight as new. It's easy to see that this bed has not been worked out of much. The insides of the of the cabinets do have a few little scratches but NOTHING like you would expect to find in a work body of this type. The doors are all very very very straight & nice. All of the rubber seals are in like new condition. All 6 cabinets stay DRY inside! There is NO rust in the cabinet floors! There are several adjustable shelves. The bed color matches the body color perfectly. This is simply a great looking vehicle! All lights are working. No broken or missing lenses. There is a very nice ladder / pipe rack in place which can be removed in minutes when not in use. There is also a working vice mounted to the heavy duty rear bench / bumper. Under the rear bumper is a nice class-V receiver hitch & plugs for both 6 &7 pin trailer wiring. Inside the cab is a very nice electric trailer brake controller. This top of the line utility body has had very little use & is well suited for countless tasks. It cost the owner $10,000... & would cost the same if purchased new today! INTERIOR & OPTIONS- Since this truck was built to work, there are few power options. It is equipped with manual windows & locks. Rubber floor covering. Vinyl seat covers. The seats driver & passenger seats are actually fully adjustable, high back buckets... with a stationary 3rd man seat in the center. Nothing too fancy but everything is VERY clean & shows little to no wear! There are NO rips or tears in the seats. No worn spots or rips in the floor covering. No cracked plastic trim. There are no odors or unpleasant smells. The door panels are all perfect. The headliner is perfect. The dash is perfect. It is easy to tell that this truck has been cared for & never worked hard. There are NO cracks or stars in the windsheild or any of the other glasses or mirrors. DRIVETRAIN- The drivetrain is the heart of any vehicle & must be maintained in order to ensure a long, useful life. I know this diesel has been properly maintained from end to end. If you didn't know the year & mileage.... you would think you were driving a new truck when you are in this 01 Chevy. I have always been a die hard 5.9 Cummins Diesel owner. I have owned Cummins powered Dodges for the last decade. This is my 1st 6.6 Duramax & I am sold! This is the quietest, smoothest running diesel pick-up I have ever been in. This truck is 100% bone stock, yet it has far more get up & go than the Cummins powered Dodges or Power Stroke powered Fords I have owned in the past. Plus it gets better fuel mileage! This Duramax diesel engine runs just like new. It cranks up instantly on the coldest of mornings. No need to plug in. As soon as it starts the oil pressure goes up & stays up all day. There is no blow-by from the oil cap or dipstick tube. There is no skipping or stumbling. No overheating. No abnormal noises or smoke. No fluid leaks. Nothing but clean, smooth, quiet, power. Because this is a TRUE 1-owner vehicle & was owner by a maintenance minded company.... you can be quite sure than this Duramax has had all of the factory recalls performed. That would include a complete set of brand new up-graded Bosch fuel injectors! Chevrolet issued a recall on all of the 01-03 Duramax injectors but many people didnt have the work done or due to a vehicle having changed hands several times... the current owner never heard about the recall. This can prove to be expensive for an unsuspecting new owner because the original injectors were prone to failure & are costly to replace. But you shouldn't worry because Bellsouth has owned & meticulously maintained this Duramax from day one... which would include performing all the recalls. This 2500HD is factory equipped with a heavy duty Allison 5 speed automatic transmission. These are known to be the best transmissions you can get in any pick-up truck. This one shifts flawlessly. This transmission does have the TOW / HAUL feature. This option provides you far greater control when pulling any kind of trailer. It works far better than an exhaust brake. When in the Tow/Haul mode, this Allison transmission does not freewheel or coast when you are slowing down. It uses the engine's back pressure to slow the vehicle & your load. This option makes towing safer, plus it puts less pressure on the trucks conventional brakes & the brakes of your trailer. All of the steering & suspension components are nice & tight. There is no slop or play in anything. This truck drives as straight as an arrow. It does not wander, dip, dart, shake, nothing. The four wheel, anti-lock disk brakes perform just like new. No pulsation. No grabbing or pulling. Driving this Chevy is very much like driving a new truck. There are no rattles. There is no wind noise around the windows or doors. Just a very smooth & comfortable ride. TIRES & WHEELS- This truck retains it's factory 16 inch styled stel wheels & caps. All are in outstanding condition. The current set of Firestone Commercial Radials have 50-60% tread life remaining. All four are wearing straight & evenly. There is no cupping or feathering. These tires make for a smooth & quiet ride. TITLE- I have a clean, clear, fully transferable title from the original owner (Bellsouth Telecommunications Inc) on this Chevrolet. I own a small street rod shop & in order to purchase this truck on the spot, I had to buy it in my business name. However, no matter where you live or how you choose to pay, the point of sell will be here in GEORGIA as that is where I live & where the vehicle is located. Or rent a car, drive here, turn it in at the local rental car office & I will pick you up so you can drive this truck home. I was very fortunate to find this truck. I had planned to keep it forever but as luck would have it, I have ran across an unbelievable deal on a late model rollback wrecker. I need the rollback for my business but can't afford both so I must let this beautiful Chevy go. This is one of those vehicles that doesn't come along very often. It is hard enough to find a one owner vehicle... but to find one this highly equipped is nearly impossible! This extremely capable Silverado was built to handle the heaviest of loads but I would bet this one has never had more than few 100 pounds in it's bed. It has QUITE OBVIOUSLY NEVR BEEN ABUSED or WORKED HARD! A new, similarly equipped, 2500HD would cost you somewhere in the $50,000 range. This truck is not new but it is in close to new condition & is going to sell for a small fraction of new price. This truck is perfectly suited for many types of work. Perfect for a plumber. Perfect for a painter. Perfect for an electrician. Perfect for a roofer. Perfect for just about any kind of contractor! It is a Duramax Diesel & would have NO PROBLEM towing a Bobcat or other heavy equipment! Or use it to service your investment or rental properties during the week & as a recreational hauler on the weekend.
