RELISTED DUE TO NON-PAYING BIDDER '1962 VW "RODZSHOP" custom gasser one of a kind chopped Beetle prostreet .Econoline ford straight axle narrowed.Full chassis car.The body has a 3" wedge chop ending up with a 9" windshield and stock rear window.This car is very fast and is not for the faint hearted.It's not been to the drag track yet !Totally street legal running on pump gas. The grill is a modified '46 Dodge truck The rear has been boat-tailed.The lights are '34 Chrysler front and '39 Chevy rear. The drivetrain: 350 Chevy, 2 bolt,standard bore, stock 1972 1.94 heads with 3 angle valve job, small dome pistons with a compression ratio of 9.8 to 1. Cast crank cut .010/.020, standard oil pump. Cam is a hydraulic Crane Fireball 286 (435/450 lift and 213/220 duration, 110 center) Edelbrock Performer intake and 600 cfm carb. Standard hei distributor. Shorty headers and glasspack mufflers. Stock drum brakes with Diamante master cylinder and reservoir. Cooling is a new radiator from a late 80's 4 cylinder turbo Nissan truck. A 14' stainless fan and Cadillac electric auxiliary fan set to run off a thermostat. Trans is a turbo 350 with a B&M shift kit and 1,800 stall converter. Rear is an 8.8 posi ford with 3.27 gears, narrowed 3 inches on the left to center the pumpkin and tuck the tires in. Chassis is home made with 2X3 .120 wall tubing. Suspension: front is an early 60's Econoline straight axle narrowed 11 inches, model A spring cut and used as a quarter elliptical set up. Rear are home made trailing arms and 200 lb Afco coil springs, VW shocks and home made panhard bar. Steering is a VW column, a couple of steering knuckles turning a '98 Corolla rack and pinion. Interior has a 3/4 inch plywood firewall covered on the outside with 20 gauge steel. The rest is pretty much stock VW with aftermarket gauges, and a Grand Am shifter. Tires are 165/80R15 on 5" steel rims and 265/75R15 on 6.5 steel rims. Gas tank is in the old engine compartment, and is a home made 12 gallon tank with an aftermarket gauge. 850 miles on it since the build.
