Vehicle Detail

I will try to describe this car to the best of my ability. It is a 1991 Ford Probe GL. It has a 2.2 liter 4 cylinder engine with an automatic transmission. I got about 25 to 30 mpg on average. The car has a sunroof, cruise control, and air conditioning. I bought it back in 2008. It was a good go to work car, adult owned and driven. It has 4 new tires, new timing belt, new water pump, new battery, new tie rod end, recent 4 wheel alignment. I put in a new Kenwood detachable face CD player with a MP3 player port and 4 new Pioneer speakers. It has a fresh oil change, and fresh spark plugs and wires. I drove it up until last summer. It ran awesome and drove great. No problems shifting or running. It was a fun little car to drive. The cruise control works, but I never bothered charging the a/c so I don’t know if it works. Brake pads and shoes checked out good when I parked it. It’s fairly clean. The jack and spare tire are both there. The Bad: IT WILL NEED TOWED. There are 2 brake lines leaking due to rust, so it has NO BRAKES. There is a crack in the windshield as shown in the picture. The person before I had it used a can of non matching red spray paint to touch it up. It MIGHT be able to be buffed out. The sunroof slaps shut when you go over railroad tracks, but it doesn’t leak. I have not started it since last fall. The exhaust is a little noisy because there is a leak at the flex pipe. It gets quiet after it warms up. There is some noticeable rust. The automatic seat belts don't work. You have to fasten them manually. You can hear it run anytime. I have a rear spoiler off of a ‘91 Probe GT that goes with it. I paid $400 for the tires and $250 for the stereo system. I’ve spent about $300 on parts and service. It was going to be my project car, but I am starting a new job so I no longer have the time to fix it. The car is unmolested. Would make a great project car or a parts car. I have a car fax from the time when I bought it laying around someplace. If I can find it, it’s yours. I will accept PayPal or Cash at Pickup. Serious Inquiries Only. I haven’t driven it in months, so it is AS IS with No guarantees. All I can say is that it ran and drove it great when I parked it. It still runs great!!On Feb-26-12 at 03:11:23 PST, seller added the following information: Wanted to answer some questions in bulk and give you all an update. Also, I was out getting it ready to go and I remembered a couple of things. I put a New Blower Motor in it and last winter it had a coolant flush and fill. It also has New Belts The car has a strong idle and didn't miss at all. It shifted from Park, Reverse, Neutral, and Drive just fine. The Transmoission Shifts Good and Over Drive Works. But, I noticed that the shifter cable needs adjusted. It doesn't display the correct gear. I have a CLEAN and CLEAR TITLE in my hand right now. I would like to keep the license plates. The interior is nice for its age. I will try and get some pictures of the inside posted on Monday. The car is for sale locally as well. You can contact me via email if you want to make arrangements to come out and hear it run. I have the Owners Manual, and the original boxes for the stereo and speakers. the Tires are Cooper and I still have the documentation. The Battery is a Dura-Last. When I did the Timing Belt and Water Pump, it got the new pulley and tensioner too. The Timing Belt only has about 9,000 miles on it. Thank you all for your interest! I didn't think there would be this many poeople interested in the car! On Feb-26-12 at 17:02:34 PST, seller added the following information: I will accept a Non Refundable $100 Deposit with PayPal from the winning bidder. The rest can be paid via PayPal or Cash in Person.
