Vehicle Detail

1968 El Camino with 396 engine and 15 x 8 Rally Wheels - No Reserve. These early model El Camino’s are highly collectable and will only increase in value as time goes by. They’re also a lot of fun to drive and they look damn good when they are fixed up. This is an original black license plate California car with a solid body and very little rust. Most of the original parts are intact including the bench seat interior and all windows etc. The car has a non numbers matching 350 V8 engine and a 3 speed automatic transmission on the column. The highlights of this car are the extremely rare and highly desirable “in dash roller tachometer”, the tilt steering wheel option and the original California Black License Plates. As you can see by the pictures, the car needs a complete restoration. The good thing is the parts are reasonably priced and readily available. For example, Chevelle.com has complete interior kits for less than $1,500. http://www.chevelle.com/1968-Ultimate-Interior-Kit-El-Camino-Bench-Seat-P6050.aspx Included in the auction are two 396 engines (need to be rebuilt and re-assembled) and a set of 15 x 8 Rally wheels with nice trim rings and original OEM center caps. There is some Bondo in the front fenders and the driver’s side quarter panel. The engines are disassembled and include block, heads, intake and exhaust manifolds. Both engines came from 1968 – 1969 trucks and the wheels came from a 1969 Caprice wagon according to the casting numbers. The California registration is current and is presently considered non – operational. The engine starts but the car will need to be towed from our driveway as the transmission won’t engage and the brakes need to be replaced. Feel free to inspect the car or have your own technician look it over before bidding. We are selling the car with no reserve and at a very reasonable starting price of $2,200. The high bidder will win the auction and the car, engines and wheels. Call Michael at 510 778-8882 for more information.
