Vehicle Detail
1966 BUICK WILDCAT 2-DOOR COUPE 401 CID NAIL HEAD ENGINE I am selling this used car for a friend. I am describing it as best as I can & I am not a mechanic or expert. This car is being sold "as is" described. My friend has owned the vehicle since 1989 and is the second owner. Her cousin was the original owner and bought the car in San Jose, Ca. on August 12, 1966. The car is now in Santa Rosa, Ca. The owner is pretty sure the engine is a 445. Other Buick car owners who have seen this auction on ebay have told me that it is a 401 cid nail head engine. The lid on the air flitter is rusty & I could not read what the engine is. My google searching has told me that the "C" in the vin number means the car was built in South Gate, Cal. Here is what I know about the car. It is white with a blue interier. The back seat is still the original dark blue vinyl with the two wildcat symbols buttons. The front bench seat has been re-appostered and has electric buttons on the lower left driver side to adjust. There is a map light over the glove box for reading. There are seat belts on all the seats. The dash board is all original with an AM radio. The radio turns on & you can here sound but not very clear. The antenna is missing but the base is still there. There is a buzzer that you can set to warn you if you go over a certain speed. The back window leaks due to the separation of the metal crome from the body of the car. Also the black rubber seal around the window is brittle and cracking. The owner has tried to fix it over the years with a white hard caulking. The caulking also is cracked and separating. There is a small rust through hole about the size of the end of a pencil just under the back window above the trunk. The flat area above the back seats on the inside is discolored and stained with mold. The interier of the car has a musty smell. The blue carpet on the floor is in good clean condition except for the area behind the drivers seat has lots of brown rust stains in the carpet. Both doors have electric buttons for raising and lowering the windows. Some of the windows don't work. The owner thinks it needs a new fuse? The fan on the air conditioner & the windshield wipers are not working. The interier of the roof is covered in a thin blue fabric. It is mostly well intact with a few dark spots. The "W" is missing from the Wildcat on the rear passenger fender. There are a few light dings here & there. I also noticed that the rear rightside tail light ficture has been replaced with another one from the same make. The small round plastic light cover above the passenger rear seat is broken. The opposite one above the rear driver side is fine. The car was stored in the garage from 1989 until 2005. For the past 6 years it has been stored outside covered with a tarp. The outside of the car has lots of heavy surface rust stains throughout. Mostly on the roof area and on the underside frame beams. Spotty rust here and there on the sides, hood and trunk. There is a new battery only 3 months old. The hub caps on the car are not original. The owner took them off to keep them from being stolen. Three of the four original hub caps are in the trunk. The inside of the trunk has some areas of rust and mold due to the back window leak. The original cloth covering in the trunk has been removed due to the water damage. There also is a spare tire & the original jack are in the trunk. The gas tank holds 28 gallons. The hoses under the hood are probually brittle & may need replacing. The carborator does need work too. To start the car you need to pour some gasoline into the carborator then really pump the gas pedal. The car was started two weeks ago and the owner said she purrs like a kitten and runs quiet. The brakes don't work since all the brake fluid has leaked out. Owner says the seal has dried up causing the leak. The power stering also is slow due to leak. The owner has the original Owners Manuel Guide booklet, Owner Protection Plan booklet, and lots of paper work from all the maintence (tires, oil changes, repairs, ect.) the car has recieved since 1989. If you would like more information you can speak to the owner @ 707-321-7721. After the close of the auction the buyer must pay us in full within 7 days from the close of the auction. We will only accept a bank to bank wire transfer through Chase Quickpay or the buyer can pay us cash in person. The buyer is responsible for all cost in moving the car from our location to there's. We will help any interested bidders with questions by answering any emails or phone calls.
