Vehicle Detail
1987 Mercedes Benz 560 SEC Coupe VIN: WDBCA45B4HA352497 Here’s another rare, clean & original Mercedes we acquired recently for our great eBay customers. Based on the great overall condition it’s very obvious the car has received care and respect over its life. You’re welcome and encouraged to stop by to inspect and drive this coupe before bidding at my Auburn location. Please call with any questions or to set a time to stop by and check out the car. My name is Mark and my direct phone number is 206/914-1173. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION Ever driven one of these Mercedes Coupes with the powerful 5.6 liter V8 engine? What a treat! Smooth is the word for sure. Smooth powerful acceleration. Smooth handling in the curves or on the highway, too. Comfort, style, and versatility all in one gorgeous ride. I’ve always considered these cars constructed during the 80’s through the early 90’s as the last of truly high-quality, hand-built Benz and have heard many others say the same thing! Take a look at my photos and I’m sure you’ll agree with me. What you see is the result of a wash and vacuum only. “Time capsule” really is a great way to describe this car. The original tan upholstery is clean and sound (no breakdown of the seat springs either). No dash cracks and very decent interior wood trim. It’s obviously been allowed to spend a majority of its life garaged because the overall condition is superior to most any other twenty-five-year-old vehicle you’re likely to come across here in the Ebay marketplace. Climb over, under and throughout and I know you’ll come up smiling! Rust? Please, this Mercedes hates rust and you won’t find ANYTHING to worry about here. Yes, our Puget Sound area is famous for rain, but our winter roads are never, ever salted. We only ever have one or two days of light snow each year. Everyone panics and just stays home! Hop in and fire up the very powerful V-8 engine and it starts immediately. The automatic transmission shifts just as it should. Having personally owned more than twenty Benz models over the years, I’ve developed a great appreciation for their style, mechanical reliability and overall driving experience. THIS CAR RUNS OUT VERY, VERY WELL. I’VE NEVER DRIVEN A 126 MODEL OF ANY VARIANT THAT RUNS BETTER!! I’m convinced you’ll be proud to own and drive it. As a respected Ebay seller with many, many satisfied online buyers, I want you to bid with confidence knowing that this boulevard cruiser runs and drives as it should AND that it is being properly represented to you CONDITION: In total, this is a very clean, well cared for, absolutely smoke-free car. I take great pride in the vehicles we sell and feel that you should know as much about the car as possible. Accordingly here is a list of the good and also a few things needing attention: All the glass is in great shape. The Mercedes idles, runs and drives as it should – strong oil pressure, strong battery and charging system, no observed overheating, brake pull or alignment issues! I’ve driven it almost every day over the past several weeks and freeway cruised at 75 MPH and feel it runs out great. Would I drive the car cross-country tomorrow? Absolutely! The only issues I’ve encountered are the A/C could use a recharge to blow colder (but who needs it this time of year anyway?), the driver’s window switch is intermittent as is the heater control switch. The liner material on the sunroof was removed by the former owner, needing to be professionally cleaned and re-installed. As my un-retouched photos show, the paint is in very good overall condition and still holds a shine well – just a few touched-up scratches here and there. Great chrome and exterior trim all around, too! The front fenders, doors, rear quarters and floor pans are all solid; in fact the entire undercarriage is in great condition for a two+ decade old rig! The wheels are all straight and true but, as is very typical, the chrome is sluffing off. They still look great though, don’t they? Each is wrapped with high-end Goodyear P225/60R16 Eagle RS-A radials appearing to have at least 75-80% tread remaining. Please take another good look at the interior photos. The upholstery is all-original with the pictures giving a very accurate view of its condition. Often, you’ll find worn-through leather, sagging springs and disintegrating cushion material on vintage Mercedes seats. The only issue here is a few inches of stitching that’s worked loose on the front seat edges as pictured – the rear bench is just fine. Hop in and feel comfortable sitting on these firm cushions for hours! I think the carpets must have always been protected with floor mats because they’re original and quite clean. The dash gauges and exterior lights are all bright and true. You’ll definitely appreciate the nice Jensen stereo system with both CD and cassette. My photo of the gauges shows an odometer reading of just under 80,900 miles. Both the speedometer and mileage counter function as they should, but we have no way to verify these as accurate. I’m always very happy to work with any shipper you choose, but you’re also welcome to do what many of our previous buyers from as far away as Alaska, Arizona, the Midwest, Canada, Florida, New York and even the Mexican Baja have done – fly in here to Seattle (we’ll pick you up at Sea-Tac International just a few miles away) and then start a great fall road trip home the same day! I wouldn’t hesitate (and in fact, encourage you) to drive cross-country in this car! Please check the photos over closely and call me with any questions BEFORE you place a bid! You’re encouraged to stop by, inspect the Mercedes at my Auburn, WA location and take it for a test drive. Because of the amount of money involved with a vehicle purchase, we reserve the right to cancel your bid if you have any negative feedback. I also ask that potential bidders with a feedback rating of five or fewer purchases on Ebay contact me before placing their bid. Finally, we reserve the right to end the auction early if the car is no longer for sale or an acceptable offer has been agreed to here before the end of the auction period. Note to Bidders: Rest assured, we will NEVER “shill” or falsely "bump-up" an auction (a violation of Ebay rules and Federal Law)! Please feel free to contact me directly thru Ebay’s system or, as outlined above, call me at 206/914-1173 anytime. My name is MARK THOMPSON. A Few Additional Terms and Conditions: A nonrefundable $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of the auction’s end. I can accept PAYPAL, but only for the deposit amount because of the high fees they charge. The balance is due by cash or certified funds within seven days unless prior arrangements have been made with us. Please remember you are bidding to buy and I fully expect the winning bidder to fulfill their Ebay contract! You’re not bidding to hold or then come inspect and test-drive the vehicle later – You or your inspection representative are more than welcome to do this before the auction ends. If the Mercedes is being shipped to its new home, there are numerous vehicle transport companies to choose from. We send out vehicles regularly and I'd suggest that you get a transport bid from www.U-ship.com. Transporters will bid delivery of the vehicle and you'll be able to choose who you want to use. The zip code for pick-up would be 98032 (Kent, WA) to get an instant on-line quote. Transport of the vehicle and company chosen are the responsibility of the BUYER. The Mercedes can be stored free of charge at our location for up to two weeks after the auction ends, assuming full payment has been received. After that period storage is charged at $20 per day. The Buyer will be responsible for the licensing requirements in their state of residence. If you live here in Washington State we’ll need to collect the 9.5% sales tax, document, transfer and registration fees (you’ll pay any applicable tax to your own state when licensing there - we charge NO fees to non-residents). Because the Mercedes is advertised and for sale locally, I reserve the right to cancel this auction early if it’s no longer available for sale online. The State of Washington shall have exclusive jurisdiction over all disputes. Venue shall be exclusively in King County. The final contract signed between both buyer and seller shall be binding. The final signed contract and terms thereof shall govern the sale. All disputes arising out of or relating to this auction, any negotiations, the signed agreement, or to the breach, enforcement or interpretation thereof, shall be resolved by binding arbitration in Washington, in accordance with the terms contained in the final sale agreement and under the laws of the State of Washington. Whew! Don’t you just love legalese?
