***RELISTING DUE TO WINNING BIDDER DECIDING THEY COULD NOT AFFORD TO TRANSPORT, PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU CANNOT AFFORD THE WHOLE TRANSACTION, PLEASE BID ACCORDINGLY TO YOUR BUDGET!!!!*** Going to offer up my 1953 Chevrolet Belair, full custom. Clean title, registered and plated in my name. Ready to go. I have a low, REALISTIC reserve on the car. I have owned this car for about a year now, bought it out of Idaho. I can not take the credit for the work but it is amazing. Car needs a little TLC and some finishing here and there. It is daily driver during the spring, summer, fall and even on the winter days when the snow has melted away and the roads are dry. Car is a driver and I'm not scared to do so. Car turns heads everywhere we go, compliments, thumbs up, and pictures do not end when we are on the road in it. This car could be driven as is if you just wanted a nice looking custom, but could be a show stopper with some minor work. Chopped 3" in the front 4" in the rear, Back window and sheet metal from a 1940 Ford. Frenched 1961 Buick Lesabre taillights. Doors shaved with poppers and buttons installed in the dummy spotlights. Frenched antenna in the driver's fender. Hood has had the corners rounded and front end has been turned into one piece. Extra grille teeth installed. Frenched headlights. Nearly brand new wide white Firestone bias ply tires on stock steelies with nearly mint set of 1956 Oldsmobile Hubcaps. Pinstriped throughout by Bo Huff Jr. (Bo Huff Sr. pictured in last picture!) Engine is a completely stock late 1980's SBC 305 engine with exception of the 6-blade mechanical cooling fan and naked lady hubcap air cleaner, not extremely fast but reliable & 700r4 overdrive transmission which retains the manual shifter on the column to the linkage, GM 10-bolt rearend w/ 3.23 gears. Runs great, shifts excellent. Made the 500 mile round trip to the 10th Hunnert Car Pileup and hit nearly 100 local shows this past summer. Car has brand new brakes on all four corners, did front drums, shoes, hardware, bearings, wheel cylinders, hoses and steel lines from junction. Rear brakes had drums, shoes, hardware and rear wheel cylinder kits. Newer master cylinder and lines. Car has new full dual exhaust all the way back with Smithy's mufflers (sounds beautiful and healthy). New OEM gas tank, sender, straps and lines from front to back. New positive, negative battery cables, battery, heater hoses, full tune up and more. Have receipts to go with. Car is lowered slightly with dearched rear leaves and front coils cut just a half coil. rides nice and steers good. Steering is a little loose but nothing you have not experienced if you have ever driver and old car, I hit the highway with this car and do 70mph no problem or fear in doing so. Body of the car in great shape with minimal filler most being where the body mods have been done. Floors are extremely solid and the underside of the car is clean and nearly rust free. Most of the stainless is in great shape and the chrome is in good shape as well, could use some buffing but cleans up nicely. Freshly painted in 2011 banana nut yellow and acorn brown, the 2 colors accent each other very well. Steel skirts. Interior of the car needs finishing, car will need headliner, the bows are there to finish, needs door panels (have old ones for templates) and small finishing inside. Has 1980's GM lowback blue buckets in it with the headrests removed, original rear seat in great shape with original material still in good shape. Car has brand new fitted carpet but it is green. Glass is in good shape aside from the windshield, it is cracked near the passengers side from where it was attempted to be cut down. It is a clean crack that is not noticed very much, one rear quarter glass has a single crack which is not easily noticed. Wipers are not installed but are included with the car. Dash is metal flaked very heavily with more pinstriping. I have all of the garnish moldings for the interior but it needs cut down for the chop, also have a nice pair of Fisher stainless door sills. Car has JVC CD/MP3 w/ Ipod hookup on face and Memphis Audio 4-way 6x9's one mounted behind dash and one in rear package tray, sounds great. All electrical works, such as horn, highbeam/lowbeams, brake lights, turn signals interior lights on switch and door jambs, All gauges work including speedometer, gas gauge is a little weird though, at half it is empty but full is ultra full I guess you could say but I just keep it topped off. I have some aftermarket gauges and 3.5" tach hooked up under the dash as well. Original heater does work but fan is picky with the speeds, sometimes they all work and sometimes only low does but havent looked into it. I am absolutely positive that I am forgetting more details and touches on the car but will update if I remember them. Any questions dont hesitate to ask. Car is located in Chicago Ridge, IL 60415 Roughly 20 minutes from Midway Airport & 294 Highway. Feel free to call with any other questions 708-545-6716/Joe I highly stress that any interested parties who are local or can send someone to look it over please do so. I have been as honest as I can be with the details and description. I am going to require A $200 non-refundable deposit immediately after auction end. I will assist is loading the car onto a hauler if you are going to send a shipper for it. The car could be driven home depending on where you are coming from (I can vouch for a minimum of 500 mile trip) This car will be sold AS-IS doe to being 60+ years old. Check my feedback of 100% positive for assurance that you will not be buying anything but what is listed with no hassles when purchasing. Thanks and happy bidding, good luck!!
