Vehicle Detail

1974 Chevy Nova Coupe Rebuilt 350 V8 engine with under 20,000 miles Included: Aftermarket stereo/sound system, consisting of Alpine radio, kicker amp, Memphis Car Audio subwoofer, two Boston Acoustics speakers, and two supplementary Boston Acoustics tweeters with crossover. Direct iPod control through the Alpine radio. $1,500 retail when new; only a few years old. With regard to mileage: I had rebuilt and reinstalled the big block engine in March of 2008. The engine has about 20,000 miles on it. The odometer reads 75,750 but had most likely flipped over at some point before I owned the car. In 2008, the 350 was professionally rebuilt/remanufactured. This engine is as good and solid as any remanufactured crate motor. Everything was done, from the top of the carb to the bottom of the oil pan. The motor was completely disassembled and taken to a machine shop for professional service, at which point it was dipped; cylinders were honed; new rings plus .010; new crank and bearings. The top end was machined, and all new Summit components for valve train were installed. New timing chain, new heads, new valves, new springs, and new connecting rods -- and the motor was repainted Chevy blue. Obviously, new gaskets from top to bottom, all purchased through Summit. This was not a piecemeal or quick-fix rebuild. Nothing was left untouched during this rebuild; at the time, money was not an issue, and I opened my wallet wide. New oil pump, fuel pump, etc. Strong runner. Obviously a non-oil-burning machine. My intention was to keep this vehicle forever; therefore, no shortcuts were taken. But the recent economic situation has forced me to sell. This Nova was my baby, and it will provide you with years and years of excellent performance. Note: The floor pans are not preformed drop-ins 8 Cylinders Aftermarket tachometer Transmission: Automatic 4 Speed B & M Racing Mega Shifter The undercarriage and exhaust are in good condition. Just a little bit of rust on both, not much at all -- and the rust will come right off of the chrome pipes New leather front seats Back seats are vinyl; the upholstery on the back seats is in poor condition; the back seats could benefit from reupholstering Exterior color is plum Interior color is black Clear title The State of Ohio did an inspection of the car when I retitled it in Ohio; however, the inspection wasn't what you'd call comprehensive -- just a cursory state inspection required to get a state-issued title Important Note: In the photos, you will see an SS tag on the front of the car, but this car does not have an SS VIN and IS NOT an SS/Super Sport Nova (a previous owner must have just stuck the emblem on there). Another Important Note: I have included photographs of the motor prior to rebuild, during rebuild, and after rebuild -- and each of the 2008 photos is marked with the year 2008 plus a brief description. All pictures marked this way were taken in March of 2008. The picture of the motor not marked 2008 is current. All photos not marked 2008 are current pictures taken weeks before this listing, and they show the overall condition of the vehicle. Whatever dents, dings, and other issues you find in the photographs are what you will find on the actual car itself. Among the photos are a picture of the trunk (picture 13) and interior carpet (picture 12), as well as a photograph from the underside to show the sheet-metal "floor pans" (picture 4). The floor in the cabin is carpeted and has no holes. The floor pans were previously in terrible condition, and so I did a replacement in 2006. The floor pans are not stock drop-in replacements. They were handcrafted from sheet metal. For a perfect restoration, you will want to replace the floor pans With regard to rust: Picture 9 shows the worst of it, which is a spot on the passenger side quarter panel. Apart from that, the body rust is minimal. There is some rust in the wheel wells. But as mentioned above, the undercarriage is in very good condition, with little rust. The car is located in Athens, Ohio, where you will need to pick it up (or else arrange and pay for shipping/transport yourself). If you would like to see the car before placing a bid, please get in touch with me, and I will arrange a time for you to come and personally inspect the vehicle. This car is being sold as-is, where-is, and if you have any questions or concerns about vehicle condition, etc., ask them ahead of time, and I will answer you in full. After you have placed a bid and won the auction is not the time to do a personal inspection or ask questions. A bid on eBay is a binding agreement, remember. I ask you to respect this fact; and, to facilitate your decision, I will do everything in my power to fully and completely address any concerns you have before you place a bid on this Nova. The listing photos are comprehensive and show the engine, the body, the interior, the steering column, and so forth. The motor is started regularly, the car runs very well, and you can drive it away. Any cosmetic issues are apparent in the photographs. This is a vintage classic automobile in great running condition, and yet you may wish to do some body work once it is yours. (For example, included with this listing is a photo of a rust spot [picture 9] that you may wish to fix.) While not my preference, I will consider delivering the car within a 150-mile radius of Athens, Ohio, at a cost of $2 per mile each way. I ask for a nonrefundable $200 down payment via PayPal after auction close, and the balance is due via cashier's check or cash, in U.S. currency, upon pickup of the car. Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or want more information. I will respond promptly. On Feb-18-12 at 20:34:22 PST, seller added the following information: gizmobones Store
