Vehicle Detail
For sale: 1963 Chevy C10 - longbed fleetside. '63 is the last year of the wraparound windshield, and the first year of coil spring front suspension. For movie fans: this truck is almost identical to Bella's truck in Twilight, but with a different style bed. Exterior This truck was an 80's resto, and was painted red. the paint is in very good condition across the truck. of course it's starting to show it's age with some oxidation and a few chips, but for a '63 it looks awesome. the body is very straight and rust free. the only major blemish is a dent in the hood, which was a result of random vandalism 3 weeks ago. otherwise it looks awesome. after a decent wash she really shines. the chrome trim on the cab looks great, the front bumper and grille have some chrome missing, with rust starting to develop there. '63 didn't come with chrome grilles, so they're probably aftermarket. they still look good metal wise though, and could easily be refinished. there's a few scuffs on the windshield, but overall it's a beauty. Interior Inside the cab things are simple and confortable, as they should be. upholstery in this truck was redone with the resto, and it's condition is excellent. the dash is very straight, with a working glove box. heater controls are present, but inoperative. the heater does work (this truck is my daily driver in Wisconsin, so that was a priority item for sure) through an aftermarket switch located near the iginition. a new gauge cluster has been installed, fuel gauge however does not work. most likely a sending unit issue. All wiring in this truck was completely redone in August '11. It's equipped with a tilt colum and nice 80s retro steering wheel. i do have an original '63 truck wheel that i will be including in the sale. Engine The engine is a rebuilt 400 small block which runs like a top. as i mentioned, this truck is my daily driver, and with that rebuilt motor it's very reliable. it has an aluminum weiand intake and edelbrock 600 cfm carb, so it has a little attitude. exhaust consists of 2 glasspacks, so it does rumble nicely. it's a very fun motor, and definitely a highlight of this truck. misc. A fair amount of work has gone into setting up the truck to be a daily. as mentioned all the wiring was completely redone, it has new tires as of last July, a new alternator, seat belts (wearing them is still an option in most states due to it's age, but they're nice to have), working heat and windshield wiper, and some other things. I do have receipts for everything I've done to the truck, short of gas/ oil fillups. The truck is a great driver, and gets lots of attention. I hope to see it go to someone who will maintain it, and appreciate it for the loads of character it has. Being 2012 though, one must be cautious, and so I will require a $500 dollar deposit within 24 hours after the auction has ended so I'm not wasting my time. Thanks in advance for complying with this. The truck is located in Oshkosh, WI, and picking it up will be the buyer's responsibility. Any questions? need more pictures? contact me via e-mail and I'd be happy to answer them. Thanks!
