Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a used 1964 Chevrolet Biscayne two door sedan. This one has a 327 engine and a Saginaw three speed transmission with floor shift. This was a factory blue car with blue interior. This is a solid car but is not totally without rust. The core of this car is very solid for being 48 years old. The trunk pan has about three small (quarter size) rust through spots which will not necessitate a new pan to be installed. You can work with this one very easily. The drivers side rear floor was repaired before I got the car. It is sealed up nicely. I would treat the underside by rustproofing it, and then leave it alone. The doors and fenders have rust in the lower parts. The hood has rust in it. Throw the hood away and get another one... The cowl vent panel (right below the windshield) is rusty. It will need replacing. Almost everything that is needed on this car is bolt on. It would not be a hard or expensive job. All that being stated, there is much more good to this car than bad. I have about 50 images on photobucket.com. See the link ---->>>> http://s917.photobucket.com/albums/ad18/jhtarpley/ ...to see just how solid this car is underneath. There is also a video of the car. You should see it and hear the engine run. Nice lopey cam. This car can be totally restored to super condition or just clean it up with a quick resto and paint it and enjoy... I have included several images with this ad, but you really need to go to the phtobucket link (above) if you are sincerely interested. The engine is a decent running 327 of about 1968 vintage. It has double hump heads, aluminum intake, Edlbrock carb, and the original style Rams Horn exhaust manifolds. It has a Saginaw 3 speed transmission. It is a fairly strong runner. A 4 speed would make it better. Biscaynes were lightweight at only about 3400 pounds for a V8 version. There were the least expensive and lowest optioned Chevrolet "big car." Therefore, they did not carry around all of the extra options and trim that Impalas did. 3400 pounds is Camaro territory. These cars can be deceptively fast because people think they weigh a lot and are hard to get moving. Check out 1961-65 Biscaynes and Bel Airs on Google. Many have been drag raced very successfully. Ask Dyno Don Nicholson, along with others. I have never seen any smoke come out of the tailpipes on this car (by the way, the exhaust sytem is very good.) It does, however, leak a few drops over the course of a week of sitting in my garage. Car has good brakes, and nearly new looking tires. I will sell this car without the engine and transmission if you have your own. We can speak by phone if you like. Email me your number and I will call you. Bids are for the car AS IS, WHERE IS, in Dublin, Georgia. (by the way, the car was born at the Atlanta, GA Lakewood Assembly Plant - 130 miles from here.) I will work with your shipper to make the car available or you can pick it up yourself and I will assist in loading. This is a running driving car, so you can drive it away if that is what you want. It has very good brakes, and a nearly new radiator. However, I would trailer it as the tail lights do not work. The winning bidder must pay a $500 deposit with 24 hours of auction close. You can pay the balance in cash when the car is picked up. The car cannot leave the yard until all funds are clear. This will be a bill of sale sale only. There is no title. Georgia does not require titles on vehicles older than 15 years. Titles are available in your state. You will have to get one through your DMV if you need one. I WILL BE GIVING THE BUYER A BILL OF SALE ONLY. CHECK TO SEE IF THIS IS A PROBLEM FOR YOU. Thank you for looking. Feel free to email me if you want more details. If you would like to speak with me by phone, email your name and number and I will call you. Thanks for looking.
