Hello. I am selling this vehicle for a friend of mine. Up for auction is this 1979 DODGE Power Wagon in GOOD condition. Truck has not been driven in a few years and will need a little work but may drive across the country as it is. It started up and I drove it around the parking lot a few times. Seems like the 318 was misfiring a bit but was not smoking. Owner stated he replaced the engine years ago. The transmission is an automatic and seems to be a good one. I did shift into the 4x4 LOCK Low position to make sure it was working which it does but it took some coaxing to shift probably because it hasnt been used in years. Truck has no rust at all but some of the stepside floor boards should be replaced. Missing chrome strips are in the back of the bed.The truck has a nice custom rear bumper with receiver hitch installed. Tires are needing replacement but hold air. The wheels are VERY NICE Aluminum mags. Just a few minor dents on this truck with the front grille looking the worst on the truck. Front grille is mostly just dirty as we removed a brush guard needed for another truck (sorry). Windshield is cracked and will need eventual replacement. Interior is a bit rough but should clean up nice and included is 2 inside "good" door panels to replace the rough ones inside. Everything else seems to be working normally. The paint looks like it could be buffed out to look great again as the clear coat is peeling off in lots of places. Looks like a recent exhaust job. Brakes are real good too. This truck has lots of potential to be fixed up and made to look new again ! The truck will be need to be picked up here in Florence, Colorado near Canon City. Since we have a bid we are now cleaning up the truck a bit and giving it a closer inspection and repairing anything we see that might be a problem for a road trip. We are changing the oil and filter and installing fresh gas as were sure that was the cause of slight misfiring. All fluids will be checked and topped off including tire pressure. Again this truck has not been run in three years and we believe its doing quite well considering its non-use. I personally own this same model truck (1978) with the same motor but a 4 speed. I bought it in about the same condition and with just very minor work turned it into a very nice "go anywhere" machine that is extremely dependable and a "keeper "! First owner bought the truck new here, didnt use it much,never 4 wheeled it but managed to blow up or ruin the first 318. 2nd owner drove it daily after replacing the 318 with another good one from his power wagon that was all rusted out. 2nd owner may have tried 4 wheel "lock mode" a few times but then just parked the truck in 2006 and it has sat since. Tires are still holding air since. Headlights are working as well as turn signals and brake lights. Wipers work, horn doesnt but its probably the fuse. Also the heater fan isnt working but we will check 4 blown fuses. Also the black spots on the front grill are from black paint overspray as my client evidently painted the brushguard which we removed for another truck project. Actually the grille is in great condition. Truck is believed to be actual mileage but motor was replaced. Thanks and happy bidding !
