(Located on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, 30 minutes south of Los Angeles )On Feb-06-12 at 09:23:05 PST, seller added the following information:Additional Information: 1. Check Engine light goes on and off from time to time. This has gone on for years since I've owned the car. The codes generated are for the Oxygen sensors. It does not seem to affect the car in any way. It passed smog tests each year here in Calif. including last month. 2. The cassette player is inoperable and the door will sometimes open or close at random times. The Radio is fine – in fact it’s awesome, and the CD player in the trunk works great. 3. Front right passenger door – the mechanism that shuts the door for you using suction doesn’t work. The other three doors and the trunk work fine. This is the system that allows you to barely close a door and the car sucks it in and closes it completely. It’s not a big deal – just close the door like any other car door! It opens locks and unlocks fine. 4. On the amber-colored climate control display, two horizontal lines are out. It works fine and you can read it fine. Just a display problem. 5. Intermittent wipers. Sometimes the rain sensor doesn’t pick up on the rain. I replaced the windshield and I think the installer did not mount the sensor properly. I jiggle the plastic mount behind the rear view mirror and it starts woking fine. I suspect the sensor needs to be restuck to the windshield and it is probably a do it yourself job. (There is some sensor that looks out through the windshield at the top center behind the mirror. I think it is loose) 6.There are a few door dings and paint chips consistent with normal wear and tear. 7. I replaced the xenon headlights about a year ago so they should be good for years. (It was about $100 to $200 for the bulbs!) 8. The plastic around the bases to the front seats is beat up and loose. It’s a combination of normal war and tear plus poor design. I have a friend with the same car and hers has the same problem. If you look on benzworld.org, it is a common complaint. You could replace it but I think it should just be glued. 9. There have been two times where the right rear window didn’t go up until I assisted it. It usually works fine, but it did annoy me a couple of times. Normally it works fine. 10. The car drives beautifully and has been extremely reliable for me. I am only selling it because I don’t need it. I hear great things about how long the motor in these sedans will go. It has great power and purrs like a kitten on the highway. 11. Very comfortable and extremely quiet luxury car. 12. I have always kept up on the maintenance and, as far as I know, there are no major lurking service needs. 13. The front end on these do require parts to be replaced from time to time. I have replaced ball joints, airmatics, control arms etc. over the years that I have owned the car. Look on Benzworld.org. I think it is normal on these. 14. The first owner sold it to my Aunt who drove it for a few years and then sold it to me. My Aunt bought her next car from the same lady who sold her this one! The car has been well maintained. 15. I am an honest seller and have told you everything I know about the car. It has 244,000 miles on it, and if that scares you don’t buy it. But I am telling you what I know isn’t perfect with the car. 16. The car is being sold as-is and without any warranty. 17. SRS dash light comes on from time to time. According to the forums on benzworld ,org, this is very common. I think it has to do with a circuit board inside the passenger seat. I think this is happening on many or most of these cars. 18. The computer sometimes thinks the left taillight is out and displays a malfunction message. The taillight is fine and I have tried all sorts of things to diagnose this one. I swapped the bulbs and the sockets, sanded the contacts, and re-aligned the contacts. None of it made a difference, and the error still comes up from time to time. Everything about the tail light appears to work fine. I just hit the reset button on the dash and it goes away. 19. If you would like a mechanic near where I live to look at it, that can be arranged. 20. New Windshield - old one was pitted from highway driving. 21. No fluid leaks. 22. A/C and heat both work great. 23. Fresh Smog Test from January 6, 2012 24. Command System rotating button - some of the rubber coating has come off. Cosmetic only. Functions like new. 25. I have used Mobil 1 sythetic oil. 26. New Falken tires 27. New Brakes 28. New Blower Motor, Cabin Filters, and activated carbon cabin filters Greg (424) 241-3432
