Vehicle Detail

History: The Chrysler TC by Maserati came about as the result of a collaboration between Chrysler and Maserati, an arrangement rooted in the friendship of the charismatic men in charge of the two companies, Lee Iacocca and his friend Alejandro de Tomaso. The link was perhaps ahead of its time, with the low-volume Maserati providing its image and tuning expertise, and the high-volume Chrysler providing its engineering and sales capabilities. After all was said and done they produced 7300 cars in Milan Italy from 1989-1991. The cost new in 1989 was $33,000 and by the time production ended in 1991 they were going for $37,000. If you are visiting my auction perhaps you know all about Chrysler's TC by Maserati. My Auction: I will attempt to describe this fine automobile to the best of my ability. I will describe it as a collector car and point out its few flaws. If I was describing it as just a used car I would stop at saying it is perfect, but in reality no used car is and as a collector you will have a more discerning eye. The flaws I will point out are so minor most people would not even notice them. Please ask all questions BEFORE you bid. Please view the link to all of the additional photos I have posted on flickr.com BEFORE you bid. I want you to know exactly what you are getting. Also please be respectful of my auction, these cost real money that I work hard for just like you do. Thanks and good luck! Link to over 100 pictures: http://www.flickr.com/photos/62698303@N06/?saved=1 If you click on a picture you can make it larger, next click on the magnifying glass icon at the top of the picture, this makes it even larger, next click on "view all sizes" on the upper right and you can supersize the images. They come out much better then they do on Ebay and you can really get a feel for the quality of this car. If Ebay disables the link simply cut and paste it to your browser. If you still have trouble contact me and I will make sure you get the photos e-mailed to you. Exterior Condition: This Chrysler TC is finished in stunning Royal Cabernet Pearl Coat. The paint is smooth as glass and shines like a mirror. The Italians really know how to paint a car and this car looks like if you leaned on it your arm would sink into the paint up to your elbow, it is that nice. There are no swirl marks, hazing, fading, or peeling on the paint. This really is the strong point of this car. The car does not have any dents. This car has never been in an accident. The only blemish to the finish is on the removable hardtop. It has some scratches on the front corner that I point to in one of the photos. Naturally there are some chips and the like from normal road use. All of the rubber gaskets on the car are soft and pliable and are in excellent condition. The glass is free of any stone chips or cracks. The convertible top is in good condition and does not have any cuts or holes, it is however missing the stitching in a few areas but this does not affect anything and it is not coming apart. All of the lights and lenses are in excellent shape and are not faded or dull. The tires are almost new and have plenty of tread. All of the chrome is also very shiny. The wheels wells are so clean you could eat off of them. This car has a clean and detailed engine and all of the door and trunk jambs are spotlessly clean. You can tell this car is garaged. Interior Condition: This Chrysler TC has a beautiful hand stitched Italian leather interior. Everything is covered in Ginger leather. The leather on the dashboard and doors is in perfect condition unlike many TC's at this point. The leather on the seats is in very good condition but is not perfect. As to be expected there is some wear to the drivers side outer seat bolster and the passenger side seat bottom has some seam seperation but there are no holes because the seams are double stiched and the bottom seam is still fine. Overall the leather is very very nice and there is no fading of color. The carpets are very clean and there are no odors as I don't smoke. All of the tools for the spare are present in the compartment behind the seat as well as the spare itself and there is an umbrella in the umbrella holder that comes with the car. Mechanically: This Chrysler TC runs and drives great! It starts right up and accelerates smoothly. The transmission shifts as it should and is very smooth. This is the second TC I have owned, the other being a 91 with the V6 engine. I am here to tell you that you want the turbo 4 in the 1989 model. You step on the gas, the turbo spools up, and ZOOM! Off you go! The brakes have plenty of pad and the pedal has a nice firm feel without any pulsating. The air conditioning blows ICE COLD, and the heat it hot. Every single button and switch in the car works as it should. The only issue is the soft top can be rather finicky about latching to the tonneau cover. The latch needs a little tinkering and some type of adjustment. The hardtop however fastens properly with no problem. I would not hesitate to drive this car cross country. Not to mention I would have a blast doing it with the top down! Additional Notes: - My Chrysler is sold as-is with no warranty expressed or implied. - You are more then welcome to come inspect the car and drive it BEFORE you bid, feel free to bring your mechanic because I am not one. - By bidding on my Chrysler you are entering a contract to purchase an automobile, you are NOT bidding on the first right of refusal. - The date was not set on my camera when I took the pictures, they were all taken on 2-8-12 - I live about 30 minutes from Chicago Ohare and Chicago Midway airport, feel free to fly in and drive home. - If you are shipping the car I will assist your shipper in loading the car. - I have a clean title in hand. - There are only two forms of payment I will accept: CASH, this means you will be counting out greenbacks. Or I will accept a bank to bank wire transfer. I WILL NOT accept any checks on any kind. You CAN NOT pay the entire amount with Paypal, that is only for the deposit. - I have 8 keys for the car. - I have all of the books and manuals for the car. - I have many of the service records for the car. - This is a fun inexpensive car to get into the collector car hobby with. They are not expensive to purchase or maintain. They are quite reliable and the best part is they get great gas mileage. - I am not trying to knock anyone elses car but this is the nicest TC I have seen come up for sale in quite some time. Chances are you would have to spend $1000's to get these other cars to look and drive like mine, it's not worth the hassle and additional expense, buy a good one to begin with, its cheaper in the long run. - Please don't contact me asking me the reserve price. It is unfair to other bidders. It is set very low and the car is priced to sell. If you want the car get in the game and bid! Have some fun! Thats what purchasing a car like this is all about! FUN FUN FUN! - You could expect to take this TC to a car show today and win a prize. - If you have any further questions about my Chrysler TC feel free to e-mail me or call me at 630-334-6974, my name is Joe and I will be happy to talk to you about the car.
