A real head turner! This 1989 fj62 with a 4BTA Cummins Diesel sets the standard for expedition rigs and gets the looks on and off the trail! ENGINE: 19 to 21 MPG with optional HHO fuel system available at a flip of a switch. Plenty of room for an auxiliary fuel tank to for veggie oil or bio D. Roughly 110K on the motor as of now and still running 10/40 full synthetic Amsoil.~ Outfitted with double bypass Amsoil oil filtration system. ~ Newly rebuilt fuel pump with new pump housing and rebuilt injectors. ~ High flow Amsoil air filter~ performance 3" exhaust system with magna flow muffler. ~ Rebuilt radiator and pre cooler for air intake. ~ block heater I had it Dyna tested before i made the adjustments to the pump which gave it a LOT more power. It had 349.4 touque and 126.9 horse power prior to a much needed adjustment which now feels closer to 450 torque! No exaggerations. The 4BTA cummins 3.9 liter does an amazing job pulling a trailer while fully loaded inside and out, hence it's well earned nick name "the mother ship". perfect for towing a small airstream. ACCESSORIES: ~ Running 37" Hankook mud terrains for less then 4,000 miles with plenty tread life left. 17"/9 Moto metal rims, brand new spare rim and tire included.~ Custom rock slider rear bumper. Notice the trimming of the rear panels. this was done before i would have had a chance to smash them by the way. ~ Outfitted in this bumper is a two year old 10,000 lb. TMAX wench. ive used it once, but occasionally i will re-spool it to keep it up to par.~ Two Deep cell batteries with new 140 amp battery isolator. {yellow and blue top} the blue {marine} is brand new and is the same as the yellow, both deep cycle and have strong cold cranking amps except the blue fits my application better.~ Modified Job box attached to the rear bumper. It can carry about 200 pounds or so. ive had it packed with water and camping equipment while standing on it. The support bar for the utility box that is shown in the photo can be easily removed by pulling out the pin. ~ Lots of lighting! Two LED lights for the sides. two fogs on the back, four yellow/blue fogs on the front and two LED's on the inside of the rear top portion of the gate.~ New additional painless fuse box~ Power converter installed to run your computer or blender. {Margaritas on the trail may be the only way to get those certain woman to come camping with you}. ~ Portable air compressor~ box of straps and snatch block~ yakima bike racks~ With it's Summit cargo rack it stands 7' 6" SUSPENSION: This cruiser has a fairly wide stance which handles unbelievably well! It's especially noticeable when taking sharp turns and maneuvering through traffic around town. It tracks straight due to the rebuilt front knuckles and alignment. The front of the frame was reinforced during installation of the shackle reversal system which now accommodate both the spring mounts and the ARB bull bars better. You'll notice it doesn't grab at the ruts in the road like a mudder, very comfortable on that extended road trip to Moab. ~ Iv'e modified the suspension with a Shackle Reversal KIt from Manafree which gives way for a smother ride and better handling on and off the road. ~ Old Man Emu heavy duty spring front and rear with an extra helper spring on the fronts to help with the weight of the diesel motor and accessories.~ New front axel housing which has been cut and turned as well as gussets and shock mounts installed around the knuckles to prevent any twisting or bending.~ Slider spring plates beneath the leaf springs. ~ Long anti reversal shackles provide great articulation and don't feel sloppy at 75 mph. ~ Rear disk brake conversion kit with all steal braided clutch and brake lines. Also from Manafree.{mansoexpensive }~ ARB front and rear lockers in what i believe to be 4/11 gearing. funny how im not actually sure about that. ~ Longfield super axels in front with completely rebuilt knuckles. {packed with the best grease AMSOIL has to offer}. New inner and outer bearings and seals in front with high performance gold rotors and brake pads all around. ~ Rancho rock shocks. I have removed the pressure lines for the rock shocks since they leaked all the time. i would recommend a set or Bilstein's. The compressor is still intact and located inside the rear side wall if you want to fool with it. Again, i would recommend a set of Bilstein's. DRIVE TRAIN: Complete transmission and transfer case overhaul with Less then 4,000 miles on it. ~ NV4500 5 speed manual transmission. ~ New heavy duty Kevlar clutch and new clutch slave cylinder and lines.~ Rebuilt toyota landcuiser transfere case. INTERIOR: All interior is in excellent condition, about one year old now. ~ BMW front bucket seats with all adjustments fully operational. ~ Great sound system! 12" infinity sub, 4 mid's, 2 highs, and two Rockford Fosgate amps pushing 300 each, all professionally installed. Beautiful full size onboard TEVO TV Great for watching a movie from the back. {seats down and sleeping bags out} It's like having your own personal drive in theater except with THX surround sound. ~Dynomat throughout the doors and rear panels as well as new door seals. In other words, the sound system was not intended to cover up any noise of the cruiser. With that said, it's been commented on by others how quiet it is inside considering what's underneath the hood. ~ All new custom gages with auxiliary fuel gage ready for that extra bio diesel tank your going to put on.~ The RED toggle to the lower left of the dash operates the Emergency brake system. Flip it up, hit the brakes, and all four wheels lock up. It can't be moved! ~ The chrome toggle is an ignition kill switch for added security and runaway diesel prevention. ~ utility rails installed in rear of cruiser to strap down whatever you need to, spare tire, mis behaving children, whatever you want really. { there very strong}.~ head liner is in good condition, one super small tear, i've somehow forgotten to photograph it because it's so small. ~ smoke free! Apparently i do have a habit of backing up the rig down wind to my campfire though, but it's not noticeable. BODY: the body is immaculate! a very expensive Custom BURNT COPPER paint job over an epoxy primer. {i have the can for touch ups}.~ Very thorough with rust prevention, such as RHINO lining the runner panels and wheel wells.~ This was not a frame off resto, However, it was taken down just to the point of that in order to paint it properly. meaning doors and glass etc. were taken down. ~ Custom fabricated runner board from my old Nissan Titan.~ Rear slider windows with screens intact and in in good condition. ~ Tinted windows As for any demerits, there is a chip in the paint passenger side next to back door as well as small chips at the bottom of the panels just behind the tires. Also one of the roof rack mounts became loose and scratch the area of the rain gutter it was on. The motor needs a front main teflon seal that needs to be replaced. {leaks a bit of oil} EXTRAS: ~ Full size Hankook spare with matching rim.~ Extra front drive shaft.~ Alternator~ High-lift jack~ 8,000 lb. aircraft Aluminum 10" trailer Hitch ~ Utility job box. or camping box. This will be one of the most fun, reliable cruisers you will ever find. i can say that because i have been building them 13 years and have put an enormous amount of love, hard work and loads of MONEY!! into this one.
