This is a relist from 4 days ago, the higher bidder was just a joke... never contact me at all ... so if you are not intend to buy >>>>> please do not bid. Up for sale is my 1993 VW Corrado, I am the second owner over the past ten years and it gave me lots of fun. This is it's original paint(still nice and shine) ... garaged since I got it till last year. The car was lowered 2yrs ago with all new struts and shocks (H & R ??? not sure ?), lowering coil springs all brakes( the green stuffs) and drilled rotors; plus all new tires. It still has about 80% plus left on the tires. It feels like a Porsche after it is lowered. I did put the angel eyes on with European harness light connection. I installed an Alpine head unit as well. There are chrome bezel on the cluster, Chrome shift knob and door knobs. The car is running strong with exception of the rear wiper is not working, the nozzles works fine. I bypassed the heater core three months ago. There is no interior heat. This is a typical problem for Corrado. This car is equipped with heated seats. Air condition is working well...extremely cold. One last con, the hood release cable broke From the help of Corrado forum, I installed the hood release from the front grill.. Please see picture. I am selling this because of too many cars(5 cars) and little spaces. And I spent lots of time on it. Wife wants it out ... Never any accident ... high mileages on due to commuting back and fore Airport and San Jose. This car has passed California smog check 3 days ago ... awaiting for its new owner. You are welcome to test drive if local. Please email and appointment. For the winner,I will include its original head lights, one or more oil filter, and four steels brake hoses. From Wikipedia:- In the United States the VR6 model was marketed as the Corrado SLC (sport luxury coupe) The Corrado is the highly-regarded 12-valve VR6 engine which has a 2.8 litre 179 bhp (133 kW; 181 PS) model for the US. Enthusiasts and journalists have consistently praised the Corrado for its handling poise, balance and supple ride. Many consider it to be one of the finest handling front-wheel drive cars of its time and the VR6 model was indeed listed as one of the "25 Cars You Must Drive Before You Die" by the British magazine, Car. On Jan-30-12 at 19:16:46 PST, seller added the following information: In addition to the above, sunroof is working perfectly, no cracks on dash, headlights are HID lights , I will also include the VW Corado repair manual----2 CDs.<<< For DIYer...the factory manual cost more than $78.00. Here are some questions & answers from last posting:- Questions from other members : VolkswagenQuestion & AnswerAnswered OnQ: Hi Harry, Thank you for your time showing the car today. I really do like the car, I am on the fence of rather I should just buy it...haha Anyways, I think you will have no problem selling at or more than your asking price on eBay. Thanks, TimJan-31-12A: Here is the vin # WVWED4509PK005657. It is also posted on the ad page. regardsQ: Hello there! I'm interested in your car, looks very well, just i would like to know a few things, Im from Mexico, and i'd like to bring it here (Puebla city , near to Mexico city), so, i need to know if the car is in conditions to hold a trip, obviously checking the oil pump and the iimportant things to avoid damaging the engine, in mexico this car wasn't sold it and I'm pretty sure i need to buy a few things in the U.S. , what could be these things?Jan-31-12A: Thanks for interest in the car, if you have read the questions that I answered earlier. I drove it to Reno, Nevada back n fore in one day. It was a 4hrs drive one way. And that was about two months ago. I do add 1/2 of a quart engine oil every now and then. There might be a slow leak. The engine is strong. High torque ... You could start this car on 3rd gear.(not recommended) It is a very sturdy drive. I am not a mechanic and I really can not recommend you what parts to purchase. I drive back & fore to work daily no problem. regardsQ: Hello again and thank you for your rapid response to my previous questions. One last thing, when was the last time the timing belt/tensioner/water pump was replaced?Jan-31-12A: Timing belt, belt tensioner, water pump was never change. A crack pipe and radiator hose were replaced. Tensioner was taken out once but nothing wrong. Serpentine belt was changed at that time as well. If your are local ... you are welcome to come by and check it out.Q: Dear Sir This looks to be a very fine example of a well kept and maintained Corrado. I live in Redding Ca and am very interested in bidding on the car. I just have a few questions. * Since you have owned the car for 10 years I assume you have the title in hand? * What is the issue with the heater core? If a new one is installed will this return the heater to an operational status? * A quick on-line search shows that the heater core and hood release cable are available. Is there a reason the hood release cable was not replaced and if a new release cable is installed will the hood latch fuction properly? * Over all the paint looks quite nice for a car of this age however the rear bumper cover seems to show signs of extensive clear coat peeling. Since this is not present on the rest of the vehicle it usually indicates that the bumper cover has been either repaired or replaced at one time or another and required painting. Do you know if this is the original rear bumper cover?Jan-29-12A: Hello there, The cluster area was fogged up at the time. My mechanic friend said it was the heater core leak. Since I would only drive in mostly day time he advised me to bypass the heat core. I do have instruction how to replace the heater core. A nice German make heater should cost less than $100.00. Yes, I do have the pink slip. I just have too many projects on hand. For the Cable, the pull handle is broke. But I believe a new/used one should come with the handle. It should be no brainer...for the heater core is a little bit trickly and time consuming . If a cable goes in ... It should work. Yes, over all paint job is nice... The rear bumper is plastic/PVC. That is the protection film over the rear bumper. If you remove the whole film it become one color. This car never has any accident. I work with the person who sold me this car. There is not any body work on this car. There is a small ding on the left front fender...hardly noticeable. Hope this answer what you are looking for. regardsQ: what state are you located in?? or more importantly what state is the car in?Jan-28-12A: Belmont, Ca RegardsQ: Hi, I'm interested in your Corrado. Let me ask you this. Knowing what you know about the car, would you feel comfortable filling up the tank and driving it across the country as it sits right now. (except for the lack of heat). How is the interior? Does the spoiler function properly? Is there anything that doesn't work that should that you didn't mention in the ad? Scratches, dings or rust that would be more then expected from a car of that age. How do you think this car would fit as a daily driver? Thanks for your time. I look forward to hearing back from you.Jan-27-12A: First for all, thanks for your interest in the Corrado. The spoiler works fine. No problem ... It comes up at 40 mph. The interior is good with a small rip at the top of the right passenger side. It was used for daily drive. There is a small ding at the ... I will have to look for it. Not noticeable. I would not recommend to drive across the country due to its high milage. But this is strictly up to you. I drove from here to Reno, Nevada back and fore in one day no problem. This car has absolutely no rust. I would say it's could be use as a daily drive car. You should know this ahead that parts for this car is kind of expansive. I have too many cars to take care of therefore wife wants it out. For example... The serpentine belt is $86.00 plus. Hope this answer what you are asking for. regards HarryQ: Hey nice rrado u have, I own two 93 corrados and it would b nice to have a 3rd one :) , the inconvinience is that u r at california and I'm at NJ :( , shipping would b over $1000 :( , it sucks for me but good luck with the sellJan-27-12A: Thanks for your kind words. RegardsQ: Your listing mentioned you've owned it for the last ten years. What can you tell me about the maintinance of the car(do you have any service records) and any major work to the engine, transmission, cooling system, etc. while you've had it. Or any maint. or major work that you know of from the previous owner. I guess I'm trying to find out if it's been taken care of and what maybe coming around the corner in future repairs. Thanks.Jan-27-12A: The heater core was replaced from VW dealer during the recall... According to the first owner. Oil change every 3-4000 miles. The major work was the new ACT clutch when I lowered it at that time(less than 2 yrs ago). I might able to find the receipts ... Never thought I will have to sell her. One radiator hose was changed about 5 yrs ago. Radiator was changed about the same time as well. Serpentine belt is about 1 yr old. Never any work on the engine. Regular tune up was given every year and before smog check. I add half of a quart every so oven. It might have a minor leak. Other than that are the items I mention in the ad. It pass smog every time. You could look up on the history. Thank you
