1979 Fiat X1/9. Brown/Tan. 42K miles from new. 1979 was a watershed year for the X1/9: gone were the big, ugly tacked-on bumpers in favor of a more attractive, integrated design. This was also the first year for the 1500cc motor and the five-speed transmission, which together trimmed at least two seconds from the 0-60mph time. The improved interior and ergonomics make the '79's the one to have. Rare dealer stripe kit in excellent condition. Very rare optional air conditioning has been fully serviced and converted to R134...blows very cold. New timing belt. Rebuilt alternator. Mostly original paint in beautiful condition (very slight scratch across the rear decklid). Absolutely rust free...this X1/9 has obviously spent its entire life indoors. Even the original paint inside the front trunk has been waxed. Radio is non-functional but we believe this just to be an antenna issue. The CD player in the aftermarket, detachable-face Pioneer stereo works great and plays through aftermarket speakers behind the seats. Aftermarket yellow fog lights look good. You would be very hard-pressed to find a better original X1/9 anywhere. One-owner car until 2010. Original owner's manual and service book with sales info on the car when it was new.
