1952 CHEVROLET PICKUP/MOPAR DRIVE TRAIN ONE OF A KIND The 1952 Chevrolet offered here is the only one like it in the world. It is in extraordinary condition inside and out. The recreation was finished 20 plus years ago. The maker did an excellent job and deserves a high grade for his ambitious craftsmanship. The truck is from Missouri......... solid, sturdy and looks great even with careful up close inspection. There just are no surprises. Along with its good looks, it runs, drives and handles like a modern day vehicle. The colors inside and out are just perfect as they accent the 'one of a kind' theme. HISTORY OF CHEVROLET/DODGE One of the worlds best selling cars was started by cigar smoking William Crapo Durant, a prominent carriage builder. In collaboration with race car driver, Louis Chevrolet, on November 3, 1911 Chevrolet entered the market to compete with the Ford model T. The first offering was the 'Classic Six'. It was too expensive so Durant went to a small four cylinder simple car calling it 'the little four”. The first major impact came with the four cylinder BABY GRAND touring car and its companion roadster model, the ROYAL MAIL. Then came the famous BOW TIE.........It was trademarked in 1913 and became the most recognizable automobile emblem in the world. General motors acquired Chevrolet in 1917. The 'cast iron wonder' was introduced in 1929, a 3.2 liter international 6. Over one million were sold at $595 in the first year. Amazing.............this engine continued to be manufactured until 1953. Chevrolet, an American tradition. The first Chevrolet trucks were produced in 1918. They were just beefed up cars, and they looked it. The start up production was a mere 890 units. However, in ten short years, Chevrolet produced its first half million truck. By 1939, there were 45 models on eight wheel bases. The Dodge brothers, John and Horace, originated the company in Detroit. The brothers were early stockholders and engine builders for the Ford Motor Co. before producing their first car in November 1914. They were great workers and knew the business. Their first car was noted for its extra styles. It featured 12 volt electrics and back to front gear changes. By 1924, they were producing 1000 cars per day. In 1928, the company was sold to Walter P. Chrysler for a whopping $175,000,000. Numerous developments occurred over the years under Chrysler's management. THIS CHEVROLET/DODGE TRUCK The truck offered here is in exceptional condition. The builder did a fine job of creating a one of a kind super truck. It is simply outstanding. No attempt has been made to conceal any areas of concern. Every attempt was made to show you the entire truck with pictures and descriptions. I offer you my opinions and evaluations as we go through the entire truck, step by step. The engine is a 1973 318 Dodge. The transmission is a baby torque plate 904. The engine is smooth and powerful. It goes through the gears just like it should. The axle is 81/4. It is easy to determine the condition when the hood is opened. Every part is fresh and clean. It is complete, nothing is missing. It is completely ready to show. Power steering adds to the drive. This truck handles like a modern day vehicle. The belts, water pump, plugs, wires and alternator are new. The interior is in extraordinary condition. It is nicely finished with the Chevy dash and Dodge steering wheel and column. All of the interior appointments are bright and shiny. The upholstery is beautifully finished and like brand new. There is absolutely nothing that needs attention. Please notice the air conditioning. The body is straight and solid. The period 2 tone paint is in very good condition. All of the glass is original. The box is solid and finished with applied bed liner. It adds a lot to the over all appearance. This is an all metal truck from Missouri with very good magnetic adhesion. The doors and panels fit properly. The original factory seams are still there. All of the lights, including the blinkers, work. The period baby moons and trim rings are in very good condition. The tires are brand new. The underside has not been power washed or repaired. It looks very good, solid and ready for the road. This is a first time offering, just in time for a full season of fun. Cruise in air conditioned comfort. This is a only one like it -- turn key truck fit for even the most careful buyer.
