Vehicle Detail
The car will not start because the "neutral, safety back-up switch" needs to be installed correctly. It is in the car and is a new part. But apparently, it was no installed correctly, because after a few months, it had become loose. The safety back up switch is also called the neutral safety switch. This keeps the car from starting in Reverse or Drive. It can usually be 'by passed', and the car will start. Also, jumping the car will allow it to start. The switch should be installed correctly by a mechanic, so it isn't accidently started in gear. Needs new or repaired outer top (frame is fine, interior headliner is fine) and two tires need replacement. We also have two extra rims, an extra radiator and a variety of belts, hoses, and all the maintenance records. This little car drives great! It has no problems with its engine, transmission, brakes or other major components. In 2007, (159K miles) several major components were replaced with new parts (I have the box lids with all the descriptions & part numbers): Tie Rods, Ball Joints, Rack & Pinion steering, Boot for Steering, 9 Column Bering, Strut Mounts, Struts, Sender, Distributor Cap & Rotor, Air Breather Element, all belts, Timing Belt, etc. It now has 164K miles. We put a new starter in in 2009. Jack included. Garage kept throughout it's life, until about a year ago. No rust or dents, body & paint great for it's age. Has one scratch on driver door about 3" long, from some intentional act (keying) before I bought it. Interior seats are leather. Bucket seats in the front and fold down seat in the rear. The gear shift is between the bucket seats. The Boot is in great shape. Top has some cracks and splits on outer skin, but is sturdy & certainly drivable; but it should be kept in garage/carport until top repaired/replaced. I've had to keep it covered with car covers since I moved last year. It was upgraded with a Sony CD player and AM/FM Radio. Roadmaster 3000 speakers were installed in the trunk (removable). Go for it! it is fun to drive and listen to the music. It's a collectable and so cute! On Jan-14-12 at 11:44:24 PST, seller added the following information: To all bidders: The wheels and tires were changed to P185/70R13. This provides steadier handling than the original size of 185/60R14. On Jan-14-12 at 13:14:50 PST, seller added the following information: Please see new pics of the xtra 13" rims, radiator, timing belt & other belts. Took some new pics of the Roadmaster speaker. The speaker is heavy (20 LB), it is 24L 5W 9.5H, has carrying handle. Fits & plugs into truck in a snap! There was no where to list this...but it has a CD player. :) On Jan-19-12 at 15:09:35 PST, seller added the following information:
