This auction is for a 1957 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup shortbed stepside. This truck started life at the Oakland California assembly plant. I believe it was originally a 6 cylinder stick shift on the column. The column shifter is still there. There is the original front crossmember and a new front crossmember installed with 350 Chevy motor mounts on it. There is a new transmission crossmember also. The body appears to have kept all its original fenders and body panels. The door post tag has never been removed. This truck was purchased in Oklahoma and was last on the road in June 1987 according to the windshield sticker. I have not found any body filler in this truck. There are no engine, transmission, hood, grille or radiator. The floors seem very solid but there is a 10x6 inch section cut out (see photo). There is a nice fitting seat in the truck. I'm not sure if it's original or not. I would be good for the frame but there is a strong mouse odor so the material would have to be replaced. The bed has a small amount of rust in the front right bottom lip but this would be covered when a new wood floor was installed. The front right fender has rust in the lower area ahead of the door and it rubs the door. The headlight eyebrows have a couple of minor dents but I didnt see any rust or bondo. The truck rolls and steers very easily. Original front and rear suspension. 6 lug. There are air shocks on the rear of unknown condition. The only good glass is the drivers door window and the rear glass. The roof looks good. Rust out in the right cab corner and a dent in the passengers door. Box and rear fenders are in great shape. The only paperwork with the truck is a bill of sale. The dash is in nice shape. Aftermarket tach and steering wheel. Nostalgia mags on the rear. Driveshaft is included.
