Vehicle Detail
1968 Subaru 360 The Subaru 360 was the first model ever produced by the Subaru we know (Fuji Heavy Industries). Powered by a 2 cylinder, 2 stroke 25 HP engine coupled to a 4 speed transmission these are the ultimate rare, quirky car. This Subaru was sold brand new here in southeastern washington where it has remained ever since. This was part of the personal collection of a local man who focused on unusual and oddball cars - mostly foreign and microcars. I bought this from the grandson of the original Subaru dealer who sold it brand new here in what I believe was 1968. Several of these cars found their way back to the family over the years. This car is only a rolling chassis, meaning it has no engine or transmission but seems otherwise complete. Although pretty workeable, most of the body panels have a lot of dents most likely incured from the years it spent in a horse pasture. The fiberglass top is missing. A temporary sheet metal one was made to protect the car from the elements. Like most cars that have spent their life in the high desert of eastern washington, there is no cancerous rust so structuraly it is pretty good. Interior is inside the car but not installed. These are very rare and would be a real head turner not to mention a whole lot of fun to drive around. These cars were made to seat 4 people (my friend remembers going on family trips in one of these cars), they got 60+ MPG and were light and nimble. Take it for what it is, parts or project but it is a cool car and I hope to find it someone who can make some good use of it. If you look at my seller history it has been a little while since I have had any auctions. I used to be quite active on ebay but spent the last 2 years overseas volunteering in service. I am just now back and getting into the swing of things. Look at my old history and you will find I was a well reviewed seller. Feel free to ask any questions and I will try my best to help you. Thanks for looking!
