This auction is for a 1987 Chevrolet El Camino. I've had this car for about six months and have enjoyed cruising it and had some fun times for it, but am ready to sell due to some tranny issues and the need for a 4wd. It's a good looking car and gets compliments every where it goes, but it's time to sell. ENGINE: It has the 4.3 v6 engine. I planned to swap for a 350 , but was fairly pleased with the amount of power the v6 gave. Some people have told me that you can make these v6s pretty quick. TRANSMISSION: automatic transmission. It is having an issue with the transmission. It started making some strange noises last week. Sometimes when you stop, it overflows fluid out of the tranny dipstick. I've thought about fixing or swapping the tranny, but have decided instead to take a loss and sell it to get something 4wd for the NY winters. My loss is your gain. BODY: The body on the vehicle is in very nice condition. It's not a perfect paint job, it looks like it was done by a fairly talented amatuer. It still looks good and the base coat clear coat job gives it a real nice shine. NYC loves this car, I get compliments all the time. INTERIOR: The inside is original and super clean, the only thing it needs is new cloth on the headliner and there is a crack on the dash. As it is right now, the headliner is installed but has been stripped of the cloth and painted to match the interior. The dash could be covered or there are some places that make dash caps.
