1991 Ford Mustang LX Convertible 2.3L 4cyl. engine. 118,000 original miles. We are the 2nd owner. Kelley Blue Book in Fair condition at $1,400. THE PROS: -5.0 aluminum alloy wheels 15" with all season tires about 1 year old -Freshly inspected until 6/2012, registration good until 6/2012 as well. -RE-BUILT ENGINE WITH PROOF!!! Upper engine complete head replacement and rebuild including all 4 cylinder's and head gasket at about 114,000 miles. Receipts for parts and labor in hand. - Fresh spark plugs, plug wires - Water pump replacement - Radiator hoses - Battery about 1 year old - Starter and starter solenoid replacement as well as flex plate - Front and rear transmission seal replacement - Brake proportioning valve replacement (this part is absolutely impossible to find... and when you do it is very expensive, I dare you to try and find it for under $140) - Brand new headlights and taillights with housings <2 years old. - Body and frame in good condition with no external rust. - Comes with an all leather Tonneau to place over the convertible top when it is down. THE CONS: - Convertible top is in poor condition. The back plastic window is separated in places from the cloth top. The cloth top is also ripped and sheared in many places. See pics below. - Convertible top frame on driver's side is broken. Top WILL GO DOWN it is just a pain to get back up, generally need another person to help. (Pricing for new convertible top and arm instal kit on ebay is about $400) See pics below. - Quarter panel windows are stuck in track, won't go up or down, does get wet when it rains. See pics below. - Interior upholstery is faded and ripped. - Spoiler broke off of trunk lid and the drill holes where it was are sealed with silicone to prevent water from entering the trunk. Spoiler comes with the car it is just broken in half. - Trunk lock had to be drilled out, there is no keyhole for the trunk but it opens with the latch inside the driver's side compartment. - Heat runs very weak, no A/C, defrosters work but again run weak. - Paint is in poor condition on the hood and front bumper. - Car DOES NOT START. WILL NEED TOWED OFF OF PROPERTY. Something wrong with the starting mechanism maybe fuel pump we're not sure. - Tires need some air especially front passenger. - Rough ride, probably needs springs or struts. CAR SOLD AS IS, NEEDS GONE ASAP. Great car for the summer, definitely not for the winter or rainy weather. Needs TLC don't have the time to fix her up like I wanted to. Car can be used for parts or is a great daily driver once the starter/fuel problem is addressed. The engine rebuilt itself is worth $2,500.
