Here is a 1969 Dodge Dart GTS 383 4 Speed car! This 1969 Dart GTS 383 is a fairly Rare car with only "488" GTS 383 2 Door Hardtops Built for 1969 with the Automatic Transmission and "784" Dart GTS 383 2 Door Hardtops built with the 4 Speed Transmission. This is a Real Deal 1969 Dodge Dart GTS 383 according to its Original Dash Mounted Vin which decodes as follows: LS23H9B183243 L: Dodge Dart S: Dart Special GTS 23: 2 Door Hardtop H: 383 High Performance 4 Barrel 9: 1969 Model Year B: Hamtramck Michigan Assembly Plant 183243: Sequential Build Number As you can see by the Vin Decoding above, this is a Real Deal 1969 Dodge Dart GTS 383 car. This 1969 Dart GTS has its Original Vin Plate, Original Fender Tag and the Partial Vin Number is located in the Radiator Support. This is a Real Deal Big Block Mopar "A" Body car and they are very difficult to find! This car is equipped with the 383 Engine that runs and sounds awesome and the 4 Speed Transmission that shifts great and the the 8 3/4" Rearend with 3.23 Sure-Grip!!! These little 1969 Dodge Dart GTS 383 cars were serious street racers back in the 60's and 70's and were favorites among the Professional Drag Racers as well as the Street Racers! When you take into consideration that these cars were built 43 years ago, its amazing that any of them survived as many were beat to death or cut up for use as full blown Drag cars. Many of these old Dart's are still in use today and serve as serious competitive Race cars! The 1969 Dodge Dart GTS in this auction is a very attractive driver with a Strong running 383 engine that sounds Absolutely Awesome!!!! This car is one of the Original 1969 Dart GTS 383 cars and very few remain according to the Dart GTS Registry. This Dart GTS still retains its Original Dash Mounted Vin Number, Original Matching Fender Tag, Original Vin Stamped Radiator Core Support and the Clear Title Matches all of the above! This 1969 Dart GTS 383 is a very Cool car that can be enjoyed now for your Local Cruise Night gatherings, Local Car Shows or just your fair weather weekend driver. I bought this car last Spring from a gentleman and his wife and the GTS was actually the wife's car. The car was being sold because she wanted a Convertible. I believe they may have had their eyes on a specific Convertible at the time that I purchased the GTS. Anyway, they were Mopar people and he owned a 1970 Roadrunner while his wife drove her 1969 Dart GTS to local car shows and used the car as weather and time permitted. I was told that the car took its share of trophies at local car shows and that it was always well received at Local Car Shows and Cruise Night Gatherings. I met the nice lady who drove this car and she was a pleausre to deal with as was her husband..... just super nice people and they loved their Mopars! This car is is Beautiful in its "Atomic Orange" paint which is a C6 Corvette color that looks a lot like many of the Mopar colors offered in 1967-1971. It resembles Turbine Bronze Metallic, Copper Metallic, Burnt Orange and Honey Bronze .....seems to be a combination of some of these Original Mopar colors only with a more contemporary flare.... lots of Metallic in this paint and it looks awesome. The original color of this car was Gold but I think the cool Atomic Orange really looks great on this GTS 383! I have never been a huge fan of Gold paint although I do own a 1964 Dodge 440 Model 2 Door Hardtop Survivor with 43,000 Original Mile 383hp, Factory 4 Speed car thats still wearing most of its Original Anniversary Gold paint and most all of its factory original components. The 64 Dodge looks cool in Anniversary Gold and I tend to like the Gold Paint on the 64 Dodge because it was used for Dodge's "50th Anniversary" Anyway, look for my very 43,000 Original Mile 1964 Dodge 440 Model 2 Door Hardtop Factory Original 383hp Factory 4 Speed car in an upcoming auction. Its a very Special car!!! Now back to the Atomic Orange Paint on my 1969 Dart GTS........ This color is absolutely gorgeous and the paint takes on different looks depending on the lighting conditions. The car looks absolutely incredible in Natural Sunlight as seen in many of the pictures but it also looks very cool in the shade or on an overcast day as it takes on more of a Bronze Metallic look. In natural sunlight the Atomic Orange Paint shows super nice with the Metallic in the paint showing strong...... in the shade if shows more of a Bronze color with lots of Metallic.... just super cool either way! I have seen several Custom cars painted in this beautiful color and it seems to be a popular color among the Street Rodders as well as the guys who build Pro-Toruing Muscle cars. Its one of those colors that you instantly fall in love with once you've laid eyes on it. This car looks absolutely stunning in this beautiful color and the car is a real attention getter to say the least. You cant go anywhere in this car without a crowd gathering around you quickly. Between the cars stunning good looks and the awesome sound coming through the Chrome Exhaust Tips, well its just one of those cars that you cant miss! I wish that I knew how to add a video with sound to this auction like some of the other guys do as this car sounds outright nasty with that deep growl coming from the exhaust that instantly tells you that this engine is equipped with an upgraded camshaft. I cant stress just how great this car sounds whether it be at idle or when your running it through the gears. Its just awesome!!!! The engine in this 1969 Dart GTS runs super strong with a a great sound that runs through the full dual exhaust exiting just below the Rear Bumper through the Chrome Exhaust Tips. The engine is a correct 1969 "E 383" and is said to have been rebuilt at some point during the freshening of this car. I have no documentation for the rebuild although I have no doubts that it was gone through at some point as it is very clean inside and runs beautifully. I pulled the Valve Covers off to take a look inside and so I could confirm that the engine had the correct "906" Cylinder Heads and I found the engine to be very clean as well as having the correct "906" Heads. The 383 engine has the Correct Chrysler High Performance Cylinder Heads # 2843906 which were used on most 1968-1970 High Performance Mopars with the 383 and 440 HIPO engines. These Heads were used on the "A" & "B" Body High Performance Mopars equipped with the 383, 440 and 440 Six Pack engines! The 383 engine in the Dart GTS has its Original "A" Body 383 High Performance Exhaust Manifolds which are nearly impossible to find and these are Original Chrysler parts with the Original Part Numbers and Date Codes clearly cast into each Exhaust Manifold. The Manifolds are in Excellent condition and were obviously bead blasted at some point during the cars restoration. They are nice and clean with no serious pitting and have a nice clean smooth look. These were blasted and left in their Natural Cast Iron so they start to get discolored from the heat of the engine. Some guys like to paint these Manifolds in a High Heat Manifold Paint with a Cast look but I like them in their Natural Cast Iron look just as Chrysler put them on the engines when these cars were new. The Manifolds show Part # 2946729 and # 2863900 which is correct for the 1969 Dart GTS 383! The 1969 "E383" engine in this Dart GTS runs absolutely fantastic and makes plenty of horsepower and sounds awesome. There were some Performance modifications done by a previous owner which include an Edelbrock Torker 383 Aluminum Intake Manifold which works very well with this engines Upgraded Lumpy Camshaft which is believed to be a Mopar Purple Cam which is sold through Mopar Performance or Direct Connection or Hustle Stuff as it was called back in the 60's and 70's! The Intake Manifold is topped with a New Edelbrock Model # 8229 600 CFM Carburetor with an Electric Choke along with a Micro Electric Fuel Pump to insure constant fuel pressure and everything works very well together. The engine starts nicely with the addition of a Crysler Electronic Distributor combined with an MSD HVS 6600 High Performance Ignition Box and an Accel High Performance Ignition Coil with Accel 8.8 300+ Ferro-Spiral Race Spark Plug Wires. This combination works very well with this engine and not only makes the engine easy to start but it also seems to work quite well through the power band with no issues.... just a Strong running 383 that sounds outright Nasty! The engine also has some Chrome Dress-Up pieces like a set of Chrome Valve Covers, Chrome Thermostat Housing, Chrome Dipstick, Chrome Air Cleaner with the 383 Magnum Decal and a few other goodies. The Radiator is New and the car always runs cool with no overheating issues even on the hottest Summer day. The engine compartment is Nice and Clean with Nice Paint that was obviously done at the time that the GTS received its new coat of Paint. The engine runs beautifully and makes plenty of Horsepower through the powerband while pulling very hard through all 4 gears. This car is so much fun to drive and its brought a smile to my face everytime that Ive taken it out for a blast! Take a good look at the pictures and you will see that the engine compartment looks nice and clean from top to bottom and from side to side. Sure there are some Performance Modifications but all of this stuff is what makes this little GTS 383 run so darn good. If your into the Stock look then you could make this engine compartment look completely stock with an afternoon of work. I have the Correct Original Black Unslienced Air Cleaner with a New Mopar 383 FOUR BARREL Pie Tin Topper for that Super Cool Original look! This 1969 Dart GTS 383 is a Great Running car and you will love the way that this engine sounds! There is nothing like that great choppy sound that you get through the Exhaust of a car with an aggressive camshaft..... its just awesome! Enough on the engine, this 1969 Dart GTS 383 was one of the Rarer Automatic Dart GTS 383 cars and one of the previous owners did a nice job of converting the car to a 4 Speed. Keep in mind that there were only " 488 " 1969 Dart GTS 383's built with the Automatic Transmission and " 784 " built with the 4 Speed Transmission so either way this is a fairly rare car by my standards. The Transmission shifts beautifully with the Original Mopar 4 Speed Inland Shifter and the Clutch feels great with no slipping or grinding. The Transmission goes through all of the gears without any grinding and no problems with any problems with synchronizers... no popping out of gear,,,,, a great shifting Original Mopar 4 Speed Transmission! The only thing that I noticed is that the throwout bearing recently started making some noise which seems to come and go so Im guessing that the cold may have a little something to do with that. Its not constant.... it comes and goes but either way its not a big deal as the throwout bearings are easy enough to replace and are inexpensive parts to buy if need be. The Console looks nice and clean and the interior as a whole looks nice and clean... not flawless as the Dash Pad has some minor issues and the Dash could use some freshening or detailing. The Bucket seats covers, Carpets, Rear Seat and Headliner were all replaced with new reproduction interior pieces. The Bucket Seats are believed to be from an early 70's Dart and although they are nice and clean, they could have done a better job of fitting the new vinyl seat covers. The Rear Seat looks very nice as does the New Carpet Kit and the Headliner looks good. The interior was done by a previous owner using all new reproduction pieces. The Dash Pad has a small area that is cracked but its not bad and you can easily install one of the new vinyl dash covers or replace the dash pad if you'd like. The car is equipped with the Optional Woodgrain Sport Steering wheel which is a very cool option in these cars! The interior as a whole looks nice and clean.... just fine for a driver as you can see and if you'd like then you can always replace the bucket seats with the earlier low back bucket seats. The Instrument Cluster is complete and there is an original Chrysler Radio in the Dash although Im not sure if it works. The previous owner had an aftermarket Radio or CD Player under the Dash and they removed the Radio but left the Speakers in the Rear Package Tray and in the Door Panels. I have a New Sony CD Stereo that will go with the car and you can mount it in the car if you'd like. There is a Trio of Gauges Mounted under the Dash that Light up showing you the Water Tamperature, Oil Pressure and an AMP Gauge.... all work properly and the engine keeps good Oil Pressure even when warmed up and the car always runs Cool while the Amp Gauge shows the car to be charging properly! There is also a small Tachometer on the Steering Column which works perfectly. The electrical components like the Headlights, Low & High Beams work, Parking Lights and Running Lights all work fine, Optional Fender Mounted Turn Signals work and the Turn Signal Cancellator works properly.... Dash Lights work, Windshield Wipers work, Brake Lights work. The Heater Controls are sticky but Im including a Nice complete set of Heater Controls with the Original Bezel, Knobs and Cables and a New Pair of Heater Hoses are included which should get the heater working properly. The car will also come with a New Reverse Light Harness... new in the Box! The Glass in the car is Nice with a New Windshield Installed and the rest of the Glass is likely Original and there are no cracks or anything serious... maybe some scratches on the door glass but nothing terrible. The car received New Door and Trunk Weather Stripping after it was painted so those look nice and I believe that the wing window weather stripping was replaced but they may have shrunk up a bit.... no big deal as these can be replaced if you'd like or just leave it alone. The Doors Open and Close just fine and the Windows roll up and down. The Trunk and Hood open and close with no problems. This 1969 Dart GTS 383 is a good driver car that has tremendous eye appeal and it runs super strong... sounds outright nasty and is a Blast to drive. This Dart GTS 383 is a fun car and looks just as you see it in the pictures. Sure you cant see the little flaws and such but the paint looks exactly as the pictures show it in my opinion. Ive had friends tell me that the Paint looks just as nice in person as it does in photos which is unusual because most cars show far better in pictures than they do in photos. The cars exterior looks beautiful with very pretty Paint that is only a few years old. The Paint is a good quality paint job that looks very nice in Base/Clear with the Original GT Sport stripe painted on the car in the factory location with several coats of Clear that cover the entire car for a nice smooth finish. The body is nice and straight when you look down the sides and Ive taken pictures of the car from the sides so you can get a good look for yourself. The Body looks very nice although its had some patch work done in several areas which include the lower quarter, lower fenders, floors and trunk etc etc. Although the car is super straight, they should have done a better job with the front floor repairs which were not done to my standards but then again this car is not priced at $40K+ so you can always make improvements as your time and finances allow or just leave them alone and enjoy the car! The exterior of the car looks awesome and the paint looks outstanding with only a couple of scratches up near the passenger side front of the hood which might come out with a little wet sanding. They just never bothered me enough to do anything with them. There are some other minor imperfections in the paint but the paint looks very nice and is blinding on a beautiful sunny day with its nice shine! The hood is in very nice condition with nice original Chrome Hood Inserts. The Trunk Lid looks very nice with a beautiful Original Trunk Finish Panel which is tough piece to find in this condition. The Grill looks super nice with a nice finsh on the bright aluminum and awesome black paint on the grill. The rear quarter panels have had some repairs done down low and there are some small bubbles under the paint on the drivers side lower section which you have to be on your hands and knees to see. I dont see anything else on the exterior of the car that should be an issue. This car was done to drive and to be enjoyed and the car looks beautiful and sounds really awesome. The Body looks Nice and Straight when you look down the sides which is nice because nothing bothers me more than seeing a Nice Quality Paint job on a wavy body. This car looks Nice and Straight when you look down the sides! The Chrome and Trim on this car is really nice with Nice Bumpers, Beautiful Trunk Finish Panel, Beautiful Taillight Bezels, Beautiful Fender Mounted Turn Signals and Nice Original Chrome Inserts on the Hood with the 383 FOUR BARREL call-outs. The Grill is beautiful with a Nice Shine.... its Nice and Straight and appears to have been restored or detailed with the correct Black Paint. The Chrome Door Handles were either replaced with New Handles or were Rechromed as they look absolutely wonderful. The Front Bumper has Nice Chrome and its a good straight Bumper although it does have a couple of little marks or scratches of some sort... its a very attractive front Bumper and would look even better with the Installation of a really Nice Pair of Original Chrome Bumper Guards that will go with the car. The Rear Bumper appears to be Rechromed and looks great! The Rare Trunk Finish Panel is exceptionally nice with a wonderful finish and nice Black Paint along with Nice Red Paint on the GTS Lettering on the right side.... just a very nice Trunk Finish Panel with a couple of very minor dings that are tough to see unless your looking this piece over very hard. The Front Fender Mounted bullet shaped Turn Signal Indicators look very Nice with Great Chrome and they not only look Good but they work properly as well. This was a fairly cool Option to have on the 1969 Dart GTS and these are Original to the car as per the fender tag. The Taillight Bezels look very Nice and were likely Rechromed or are just super Nice Originals that were installed when the car was done. They look very nice with the correct Black Paint around the perimeter of the Bezels. The Chrome and Trim on this Dart GTS is quite nice overall and looks excellent against the beautiful finish on the Atomic Orange paint. This 1969 Dart GTS 383 is an excellent running car that fires right up and runs very strong. The engine is a typical Big Block Mopar so its a little cold hearted in the Winter and runs a little rich until it warms up to good operating temperature. Once the engine has warmed up and the choke opens fully, the engine runs much smoother and your able to hear that nasty sounding camshaft doing its thing through the dual exhaust which includes a pair of Flowmaster "style" Mufflers which run back to a pair of Mopar Chrome Exhaust Tips. These Big Block Mopars are notoriously cold blooded so this 383 just runs better and better as it gets warmed up and then it settles into a nice choppy idle which sounds awesome in my opinion.... in fact everyone who has seen this car has been impressed by the sound of this awesome running 383.... it sounds outright nasty and you will not be sneaking into any Cruise Night Events without everyone noticing the arrival of this Dart GTS 383. The engine runs really strong through all 4 gears and makes enough horsepower to keep just about any car guy happy. The car drives pretty much like any other Big Block Powered "A" Body that Ive had the pleasure of driving over the last 30+ years. These Big Block "A" Body cars are a Blast to drive in a straight line but they were not the greatest handling cars that Mopar ever produced. Dont get me wrong, the car is a good driver but they are a little frontend heavy and Im sure the car would benefit from a some new bushings up front as well as some front suspension upgrades. The Dart GTS is equipped with its Original Front Sway Bar which is nice to have but these cars seem to handle so much better with the addition of some of the more modern front suspension parts and heavier after-market sway bars that are available. This GTS is equipped with Manual Steering and Manual Brakes and the Brakes stop the car just fine. The Manual Steering is fairly easy to use and the only time that Manual Steering in this car is an issue is when your in a very tight spot and almost at a stop...... like getting into a tight spot in your garage will require a little muscle but keep in mind that a small woman drove this car to car shows and cruise night gatherings and she handled this GTS just fine. Driving down the road with the Manual Steering is not an issue even with the Nice Meaty Matching set of 245/60R14 Tires that are mounted on Nice Mopar Small Bolt Pattern Rally Wheels with the Nice early style Bullet/Cone Center Caps. This car is fairly comfortable to drive with the High Back Bucket Seats which give you plenty of support while driving down the highway or even cruising around town. The interior as a whole is quite comfortable and was done by a previous owner and done the way that they liked. This 1969 Dart GTS 383 was born as a Gold 383 automatic car but was converted to a Bronze/Atomic Orange 4 Speed car. There were some performance modifications done to the car as well as the addition of the high back bucket seats in place of the low back bucket seats. The body is Nice and Straight and the Paint looks Awesome. This GTS 383 is a real head tuner and will always draw a crowd everywhere it goes and you can be sure that the car will be well received at any Cruise Night Gathering or Local Car Show. The car received a driver restoration and this 1969 DART GTS 383 looks Awesome although there were various repairs done to the body panels, floors and trunk that could have been more proffessionally in my opinion. Dont get me wrong, this car looks absolutely stunning when it pulls into a Cruise Night or even while its sitting in my garage but the work done to the car was done to driver quality standards. I just want you guys to know that its not a "Show Car" although I have seen many cars over the years that were not nearly as nice as this GTS 383 that have done well as Local Car Shows. I might be a little too picky but I want the new owner to be happy with his or her purchase. This beautiful 1969 Dart GTS 383 is a Rare car by any standards and you will be hard pressed to find an Original Turn-Key Big Block "A" Body for anywhere near the Reserve price on this GTS 383. These cars are often priced at $30,000 - $60,000 in restored condition and you will see them priced at $10,000-$15,000 in need of a complete restoration. I have seen a couple that for sale with body modifications(Radiused Rear Quarters or Tubbed) and without a Motor or Transmission and these cars were priced at $10,000+ ....... This 1969 Dodge Dart GTS 383 received restoration work to make the car a good weekend driver or a good local Cruise Night car and can be confidently driven to Local Car Shows with a Big Smile on your face! Although this GTS 383 was not restored to my idea of a car that is done to "Show" quality standards, it does show well and has taken its share of trophies over the last few years. If your looking for a very attractive Real Deal 1969 Dart GTS 383 with an Awesome running engine that you can get in and drive without having to spend $30,000+ then this might be a car to consider. I want to wrap this up by saying that I appreciate you guys taking the time to look over my auction and I realize that its very long winded but I wanted to give you as much information as possible. This is a Truly Rare Original 1969 Dart GTS 383 as verified by the Original Dash Mounted Vin Plate, Original Fender Tag and the Partial Vin Number is Stamped into the Radiator Support. This is a Beautiful car with Gorgeous Paint and the Body is very straight. The Paint has an Outstanding look although its not without some imperfections. The pictures do a wonderful job of representing the Paint on this car. It looks like the pictures for sure. The 383 engine is a real Powerhouse that sounds incredible and makes plenty of Horsepower through all 4 Gears. The Transmission shifts Great and there are no problems with the Transmission or the Clutch. The Clutch grabs great with no slipping or chatter. The Interior is nice and clean although the Front Bucket Seats could have been done a little better. The Dash could use a little detailing but its all there and most of the electrical components work just as they were intended. The car has a Nice set of Matching 245/60R-14 Tires with plenty of Tread left and the Original Mopar Rally Wheels look great on this car! The Trim and Chrome on this 1969 Dart GTS is very nice with nice clean Bumpers, Super Nice Grill, Beautiful Trunk Finish Panel, Beautiful Fender Mounted Turn Signal Indicators, Beautiful Door Handles, Beautiful Taillight Bezels, Nice Original Hood Inserts with the 383 FOUR BARREL Call-Outs. The Trunk is Nice and Clean with the Correct Fiberboard Spare Tire Cover, Trunk Mat, Spare Tire and Wheel and Complete Bumper Jack along with Original Jacking Instructions on the underside of the Trunk Lid. This car is a Turnkey Driver that looks awesome and runs every bit as well as it looks! In Fast the 383 engine sounds awesome with the obvious upgraded camshaft which is evident when this engine sits at idle..... its a very impressive sounding 383 to say the least! This Dart GTS 383 still wears its Rare Original High Performance Exhaust Manifolds which run back to a full Dual Exhaust System thats running a Pair of Flowmaster style Mufflers with Tailpipes that run back to the Mopar Chrome Exhaust Tips that are peaking out from under the Beautiful Rear Bumper! The car goes down the Highway just fine although these old Mopars have a tendency to wanger a bit so I would consider installing some new upgraded bushings and possibly a heavier front sway bar as these cars were frontend heavy and anything that can improve the way that these Big Block "A" Body cars drive & handle is always a plus. Im sure the car would benefit from some other upgrades as well. The car has Outstanding eye appeal and will always draw a crowd and with the Gorgeous Atomic Orange Paint, you will surely enjoy taking this 1969 Dart GTS 383 to your Local Car Club Gatherings, Cruise Night Events and Local Car Shows as well as using it for your fair weather or weekend driver. Like most 43 year old cars there is always room for improvement so you can make some upgrades or improvements as you go along or you dont have to do a thing if you dont want to. There are a few things that I could change but its all a matter of personal taste. I cant stress just how well this Dart GTS 383 runs.... its just an awesome running car that is a blast to drive. This car was done as a Driver and although it has won its share of Trophies at Local Car Shows and such, it is still a driver in my opinion. This is not a $40-60k Show car or a Trailer Queen.... its a Driver and would make for an awesome weekend Cruiser or Cruise Night car. If you have realistic expectations then you will be pleased with this GTS 383. Its a great looking Driver with Oustanding Eye Appeal and it runs like a scalded cat. It just outright gets up and goes once the 383 is warmed up and it sounds amazing through the full dual exhaust! I just wanted to add some further information about the Dart GTS. This Dart GTS is a Fun Driver that can be driven on the Weekends or anytime for that matter. Its a great car to use drive to your local Car Shows, Cruise Night Events or Car Club Gatherings. The Paint on this car is very Nice and looks great. The engine Compartment is Nice and Clean and Shows just fine for a 43 year old car. The Interior is Clean throughout although there have been some modifications such as the Front Seats, Under Dash Gauges, Upper interior Door paint is body color and there is a Tach on the Steering Column...... not flawless but clean and comfortable. The Dart GTS has some modifications that were done by a previous owner which include the Cool Paint job in Atomic Orange which is a late model C6 Corvette color. The Paint color reminds me of a late 60's Mopar Bronze like the old Turbine Bronze Metallic, Copper Metallic, Light Copper Metallic, Burnt Orange and Dark Bronze Metallic etc etc. The Paint on the car has a lot of Metallic which looks absolutely incredible in the sunlight! The Paint on the car looks very nice although there are some minor imperfections here and there with the only scratches that stand out being a couple on the right front side of the Hood and they are not a big deal in my opinion...again nice but not perfect. The car was an original Gold Paint car with an Automatic Transmission and as you can see, it was converted to a 4 Speed. They did a good job on the conversion and most importantly, everything looks good and works properly with Nice Shifts with the Mopar Inland 4 Speed shifter and a great clutch. The Production Numbers for the 1969 Dart GTS 383 Automatic are just 488 cars while Production Numbers for the 1969 GTS 383 4 speeds are 784 .... either way, a fairly rare car considering that they were made 43 years ago and most were run into the ground and very few survive today. The Seats in the car are Mopar High Back Buckets and they are comfortable and clean although the previous owner could have done a better job of installing the seat covers as they are a little loose across the tops edges. The original bucket seats for a 1969 Dart were low back bucket seats and although I do not have the original front bucket seats that were removed from this car, I do have a pair of Black 1967 Mopar Low Back Bucket Seats and if the new owner would like them then they are more than welcome to have them with the car. The Back Seat looks Nice and Clean and they did a Nice job on recovering the Rear Seat. The restoration work done on this Dart GTS is not perfect as it was done so that the car could be used as a fun weekend driver. The car is a Fun Weekend Cruiser and it is a Blast to drive with the 4 Speed and the 383 pulls really strong. This car is always surrounded by people whenever its out on the road but I guess thats the case with many old cars. This car has Outstanding eye appeal when you come walking up on it and it Sounds Straight out Nasty!!!! It is a Driver!!!! The Body on the car looks nice and straight although I dont know if any panels were replaced. I do know that there was some work done to the quarter panels, lower fenders, trunk and floor pans and Im sure there was work done in various other places. Im just trying to tell as much as I can because I dont want anybody to be disappointed with their purchase. Its an awesome little car that runs great and looks very nice.... its just not a concourse style restoration. Its a great looking turn the key and drive car with an awesome running 383 and very pretty paint. The Undercarriage is Undercoated and from what I can see there was some work done to the floor pans which could stand to be gone over as it was not done very well but keep in mind that this was only intended to be a weekend driver. Once again this is a Driver that looks Nice and Runs really Strong.... Sounds even Better! The car has outstanding eye appeal as I mentioned earlier and I have seen lesser cars at many of our local car shows and Cruise Night events..... heck Ive seen cars show up at our local shows that were still in primer! This is not a car that your going to win any National Shows with but you will not be ashamed to take it out and enjoy yourself on a Beautiful Sunny Day and you will have more Fun Grabbing Gears in this car than with many cars that may cost 2 or 3 times as much as this little GTS. The car is well received at local Cruise Night gatherings and when you pull into the Cruise with this little Dart, you can be sure that you will have a crowd form around the car just because of its good looks and awesome sounding exhaust tone! The engine in this Dart GTS is a 1969 383 according to the "E383" Stamping on the front of the Block although I dont believe its the numbers matching engine. The engine has the very hard to find Original Big Block "A" Body Exhaust Manifolds and they are in super nice condition. They are not Reproductions or a made pair. The intake Manifold is an Edelbrock Torker which works very well with this engine and its topped with a New 600 cfm Edelbrock Carburetor with a good working electric Choke. The engine starts easily and runs really strong although it is a little cold hearted like most big block Mopar engines. The 383 Sounds awesome with a real aggressive sounding choppy idle that resonates nicely through the full dual exhaust which exits through a pair of Chrome Exhaust Tips. The engine makes good power through all of the gears and has plenty of midrange and topend power with the 3.23 Sure-Grip rear gears. The engine compartment is nice and clean although its not "show" restored. Its definitely nice and clean but there are no Mopar hoses or Original Mopar battery and there are always some things that could be done to improve the looks of the engine compartment as well as the rest of the car. Its a Great Driver!!!! If I sound like Im being critical its because I dont want anybody to be disappointed. Ive had a few people tell me that I am way too picky and that my descriptions are not only long winded but also very harsh because of my critical nature but I guess thats how Ive managed to keep my 100% Positive Feedback on Ebay over the last 11 1/2 years. One more time.... If your looking for a fun little Mopar thats fairly rare with a Super Strong running and exceptionally nasty sounding engine then you will love this car. This 1969 Dart GTS 383(Original 383 car) is Strong running car and with the 4 Speed its just a whole lot of fun to drive. The paint is nice and has a great shine as well as a very pretty overall appearance. The Chrome and Trim on this car are fairly nice with a nice clean Grill and a very nice Original Trunk Finish Panel... Nice Chrome Hood Scoop Inserts, Nice Taillight Bezels, Nice Chrome Fender Mount Turn Signal Indicators, Nice Door Handles..... nice Chrome Bumpers although there are a few little marks on the front bumper....overall, very nice Chrome and Trim! The Interior looks nice and clean throughout although the front seat covers could have been done a little nicer and the Dash Pad has a little crack. The Glass in the car is all good with no cracks although there are some scratches in the door glass. There was a New Windshield installed during the restoration. The Heater Controls are sticky and I have a very Nice set of Heater Controls that come with the car as well as a Show Quality Instrument Cluster Bezel and a Pair of Front and Rear Bumper Guards that have very Nice Chrome. The Headliner and Carpets are Nice and the Console is clean although it could use a little detailing. The Radio in the car is an Original Mopar Radio although I dont beleive that it is hooked up as the previous owner had an After-Market Radio in the car and they left the Speakers in the car so it would be easy to install the New Sony CD Player that I have for the car which will also go to the New Owner. There was some weather stripping replaced while the car was being done but the wing window weather stripping on this car should be replaced as the weather stripping appears to have shrunk up a bit and doesnt fit very well. The Dash Lights, Headlights, Taillights, Parking Lights, Brake Lights, Turn Signals- Fender Mounted and Grill Mounted, Windshield Wipers, Speedometer, Gas Gauge, Odometer all work and even the Turn Signal Cancellator all works properly. The car comes with a Clean Title that matches the Vin Number. The car has the Matching Original Fender Tag and the Radiator Core Support has the last 6 digits of the Vin clearly stamped which match the Vin Number on the Dash as well as the Vin Number on the Fender Tag and the Vin Number on the Title. If your looking for an Affordable Big Block Mopar "A" Body thats Nice and Clean and Run and Drives very well then this might be the car for you. Real Big Block "A" Body Mopars dont show up for sale very often and when they do, they are either Restored drivers or Restored to very High Standards and priced accordingly at $30,000-$60,000 Plus or they are often major projects that are in need of absolutely everything and still priced at $10,000-$18,000.....and even Big Block "A" Body cars with no drivetrains can bring $10,000..... these prices were taken from some of the 1967-1969 Mopar Big Block "A" Body cars that Ive seen for sale on Ebay as well as other sites and publications over the last few years. The prices seem to vary and there are always the exceptions as a good deal does come by every once in awhile although most Big Block A Body Owners who have done exceptional restorations on these cars know just how expensive it can be to restore one of these Rare little Muscle cars. Take a few minutes to compare these Mopar Big Block Dart's or Barracuda's with the prices of comparable 1967-1969 Camaro SS396 cars or 1967-1970 Mustang 390 and 428CJ cars and the Mopars seem like an a bargain or at least it seems that way to me and the production figures on these Mopars are far lower than those of any of the comparable Camaro's or Mustang's. ABOVE: A PICTURE SHOWING THE PAINT COLOR UNDER THE FLUORESCENT LIGHTING! THAT IS NOT A SCRATCH YOU SEE BUT RATHER A REFLECTION OF THE DRIP RAIL MOLDING. THE PAINT IS SUPER COOL IN NATURAL SUNLIGHT AND LOOKS MORE OF A DARKER BRONZE METALLIC IN THE SHADE!!!!On Jan-14-12 at 21:03:02 PST, seller added the following information: I have been asked for more pictures of the Grill, Trunk Finish Panel, Trunk and Undercarriage. I do not have a lift but I took a few pictures of the Trunk and I took a few pictures of the undercarriage which didnt come out very well. The underside of the car is undercoated and there really isnt much too see. The Floor Pans were repaired up front and the former owner could have done a better job on the repair of the front floor pans. They are not a big deal as they are easy enough to go over sometime in the future or just leave it alone and drive the car. Its a blast to drive and you'll love the way that this car runs along with its awesome look. Ive added a few pictures of the trunk and as you can see, the Trunk Mat is a little tired so that might be a piece that you can consider replacing. They are cheap and a new Trunk Mat would really make the Trunk look much nicer. I also added a photo of the drivers side lower quarter which is the spot that shows some minor bubbles under the paint.... again this is not a big deal. The car looks awesome and runs as good as it gets. You are not likely to find a 1969 GTS 383 car thats as attractive as this car and that sounds as nasty as this one for anywhere near the reserve price but then again you never know. I just want you to be well informed and know as much as possible about this GTS 383. Im sure that I could have freshly undercoated the car and made everything look really nice so I could add pictures of a fresh undercoated car but I didnt want to get into all that as I wanted you to see the car as it is. Its a very cool car and it looks like you see it in the pictures. Its a fun Driver that Looks Beautiful and Runs Awesome! On Jan-18-12 at 19:49:07 PST, seller added the following information: Thank you for all of your emails, phone calls and especially your bids. I just wanted to add that I would appreciate it if only real buyers bid on this car. The listing is nearly a week old and if your the winning bidder then I would appreciate it if you would follow the terms of my auction. This is not an opportunity to bid so you can decide whether or not you would like to buy the car. This is bid to win the auction and pay for the car. These auctions can get quite pricey to run and Im really not up to dealing with anyone who wants to play games. Im easy to deal with so please follow my instructions and terms on payment and we will get along just fine. The car is what it is. Its a very attractive factory Big Block "A" Body with a 4 speed and it runs awesome. Take a look at what it would cost to buy a junk 1969 Camaro SS396 and then you'll appreciate the value in this car. Comparable Camaro SS396 or 1969 Mach 1 390 or 428 cars will bring $15,000 with no drivetrains. This is a turnkey car that sounds absolutely killer and is a real deal factory big block car... no guessing here as the Vin Number and Fender Tag tell you that its the real deal. Thanks again for all of your emails and all the best with your bids.... Tony 215-499-2693
