Vehicle Detail

1960 Austin Healey Sprite - I found this car in a garage in Helena MT. It hadn't been driven since March 2001. At that time it had been in for repairs and received a complete brake job, all new wheel cylinders, turned wheel drums, new brake hoses, new master cylinder installed, the entire exhaust system was replaced, carbs cleaned, serviced & adjusted, replaced spark plugs & wires, new coil cap & rotor. It cost $820 to have this work done and it was never driven again. The car has had 2 owners, the first was a lady who lived in Elsinore CA, the second lady lives here in Helena. When I got the car home, I changed the oil & filter, put a new battery in, new tach cable, new gas pedal, checked all fluid levels, put some gas in & it started right up. It runs very well & the motor sounds good. Brakes are very good and the transmission shifts smoothly. The clutch is smooth. There is zero rust in this car and there never has been any that I can find. the Grill has some pitting on it , The paint appears to be original, but I'm not sure of that as it has 50 yrs worth of wear on it (see pictures) The top and side windows are in good shape, but each side window has one broken bracket. I ordered new ones from Moss Motors that are included with the extra parts, but they don't seem to fit.The upholstery looks to be original but there's some fading & a tear in the drivers seat (see pictures). I don't know the exact mileage because the odometer is not working but the speedometer is. I've never changed the title into my name, so the history of the car shows 2 registered owners. There's probably $200 worth of extra parts to go with the car (see pic). It also has the original jack & handle and a tonneau cover. All gauges work. I also installed the rubber between the windshield & body as well as 2 brace gaskets. I spent a lot of time cleaning & polishing the body, cleaning the upholstery and shampooing the carpet. I bought this car to restore but find I have too many other projects going on, so I'll let someone else have fun with it. This would make a pretty good little driver the way it is, or it would be an easy restoration. The engine # is 9C-U-H 30971. I don't require a deposit, so the winner bidder has 7 days to come look at the car and if it's not what they want, there's no obligation to follow thru with the purchase. Payment will be cash, wire transfer or cashier's check etc. A check must clear before release of car & title. My typing is very limited, so I prefer a phone call.
