4 Jan 2012 Update - Multiple offers at $9100 - First to offer $9300 gets it. Please ask ANY question. I am motivated to sell! Also - I am happy to send scans of any of the documents verifying the salvage repair, the salvage certificate and the title transfer. Also have receipts showing that it passed MO Emissions/Safety, replacement battery and oil change. Have a TON of pictures I am happy to email. I bought this car from Andre @ Easy Auto Export from EBay a few months ago. Car was and is in great shape - I have had zero issues over the last few months. Shifts smooth, revs great, boost works perfectly, no electrical issues. The vehicle was purchased from an insurance company in NY. The previous owner had driven over a curb and damaged the engine. The vehicle had 38k miles and EasyAutoExport replaced the engine w/ an identical engine w/ 19k miles. All of this is documented and I have copies of everything. Before buying - I went to my local DMV (in St. Louis, MO) to make absolutely sure that the vehicle could be titled legally in Missouri. I was told of course it can be titled and I merely needed a safety inspection. After purchasing the car - going to my DMV multiple times - talking to the MO Highway Patrol - it turns out Missouri has a law which does not accept New York Salvage Certificates - (Form MV-907A), which is what I was given by the seller. They said my option is to take it back to New York and get a New York State Police safety inspection or try to sell it to someone in a state which DOES accept the New York Salvage Certificates. Please - PLEASE make 100% sure your state accepts a New York Salvage Certificate. Most states will allow you to take a vehicle w/ a salvage certificate to a State Police Safety Inspection Office and certify the title as rebuilt. If your state does not - you will be unable to have the car properly titled! This is extremely important and is the only reason I am selling the car! For someone who wants a fast, fun car on the cheap - this is the car. You will be unable to find an SS anywhere close to what I am asking (I know this because I searched the country for weeks trying to find one before I bought this car). It is super roomy, back seats fold down. Stereo is great. Two-tone suede interior is awesome. Gas mileage is surprisingly excellent because of the turbo - I have gotten 31 on the highway and anywhere from 20 - 24 in the city. Because of the body shape the interior stays extremely cool in the summer - sounds odd but it really does. Great compromise between speed, power, fun and practicality.
