So-Cal Speed Shop Sacramento So-Cal Speed Shop Sacramento Feel free to call with any questions. 1-877-467-3871 SO-CAL SPEED SHOP SACRAMENTO is proud to offer this 1936 FORD Hot Rod. ! On to today's story... ORIGINAL HENRY FORD STEEL! The coupe's body is very straight especially for a vintage Ford of this era. The doors on the coupe shut very nicely and apear to be aligned well. I have been over and under this coupe and while it has some surface rust here and there I could find no evidence of rust through/rot-out. The car's floors are solid and it still has its original wood support underneth. The car was shot with DP90 mat black sealer. Overall this is a clean very solid original body. The car does not shake and rattle excessively when driving down the road. Almost too much fun to drive. The coupe's cockpit is largley untouched. This Standard Businessmans Coupe still retains its flip up style bench seat. It is covered in timeless black vinyl with the door panels and headliner (dyed) done to match. The mostly stock dash runs its original speedometer with some accesory gauges added. Original floors, steering column, steering wheel, glove box, etc. The early Chevrolet V8 engine fires right up and does not smoke or miss. It idles well and has good power when accelerating. Engine features include early GC code 1956 265ci V8 with a Duntov 30/30 solid lift cam, early power pack heads, early 4 barrel intake manifold with front fill oil tube, Carter carburetor, and ealry lube type GM distributor. The engine compartment is rounded out with finned aluminum Corvette valve covers, Cal Custom style valve cover hold downs, chrome dip stick, chrome oil fill tube and breather cap, chrome cooling fan, chrome thermostate housing, and chrome louvered air cleaner. Gearing is handled by a rebuilt (in 2005) 1939 Ford transmission backed by the original torque tube Banjo rear end. The coupe's suspension has firm feel; it does not pull or drift and the steering does not have excessive play. Out back we have the afore mentioned banjo rear end with stock leaf spring pack and un-split wishbone. Up front is a new Super Bell 4" dropped axle, with new kingpins, rebuilt spring pack, dropped steering arms, and shorty shocks. Just about as Traditional as a modern built Traditional Hot Rod chassis can be on a car of this era. No frills but nicely done and the coupe handles nicely in town or on the freeway. The coupe's brakes are in good working order and they do not pull even when braking heavily. As with most hot rods of this vintage this car was upgraded to early hydraulic "juice" brakes. While this car still sports this early version of hydraulic brakes they have been gone through and upgraded even further. There are new hoses, steel brake lines , and dual a reservoir master cylinder for safety. All the glass in the coupe is in good condition and is free of major cracks or chips. The door windows roll up and down smooth as they feature new glass and window channel. The front windshield still cranks out freely for ventilation. The original grill is still in fairly good shape for its age and is straight with some patina in between the fins. Bumpers are re-chromed originals with a nice shine to them. The car rolls on 15" steel wheels wrapped in 235/75R 15s out back and 165 15s up front. The tires appear to be in good condition and appear to have plenty or tread like left on them. Some other notable features include... All new wiring using a 12 volt 12 circuit fuse panel Painless wiring system, electric fuel pump, battery relocated behind seat with heavy duty cables and kill switch, new weather stripping, rubber running board covers over original running boards, turn signal system added with chrome signal housing on steering column, and more. Overall, this classic is in solid condition. The coupe is good candidate for a period Hot Rod restoration or as is for a survivor type driver. Please view the numerous pictures we have provided so you can get an idea of its condition. We highly encourage all prospective buyers to come to our shop and inspect the coupe in person ( by appointment). The coupe runs and drives with good of power and it does not overheat, even in our 100 degree Sacramento weather. It has been driven on the freeway and has no trouble maintaining freeway speeds.
