Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 2003 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck. This is the base model 4-cylinder 2.2 liter motor with a 5-speed and rear-wheel-drive. My father is the sole owner of the vehicle and he purchased it new in Washington back in 2002, and has remained in my family since. Upon purchase, my father was deployed and it sat in our garage for the better part of a year; then we moved to Tennessee and drove it the whole way. I have put about 20,000 miles on it myself and has been my daily driver since 2009. The vehicle has 116,xxx miles on it (it is still my DD until it's sold) and it still runs as new. Regular maintenance performed every 3,000 miles by either myself or my father, a retired mechanic. All that being said, on to the goods and bads: Bads: 1. For some unknown reason there has been a check engine light on for an oxygen sensor for a few months now. This is confirmed by my OBD-II scanner at home; it has been replaced but still throws the code. A nuisance more than anything, it has not affected the truck's performance at all. 2. The ABS light has been on since an accident back in 2007. I have been told by a couple of different mechanics that it is most likely a faulty sensor or plug, but will not affect the performance under braking. Again, just a nuisance to see here. 3. The swing out ashtray mounted above the gear lever broke off when my knee hit it in the collision in 2007, and we grew impatient of it being in the body shop because they never ordered the clips to re-install it. After three weeks of waiting, we pulled it out and I taped it down to the console, it has been there ever since. All it lacks is the brackets to hold it in place. As mentioned, the truck has been in two accidents; one involving me and a Porsche 928 where the driver of th 928 came into my driver's side door, and the other involving my father being rear-ended and pushed into a flatbed semi truck. Both were repaired by authorized body shops under insurance. 4. The truck's bed has been put to good use, so the Metallic Blue plain is pretty scratched up. Typical of a truck its age. 5. The "next" button on the current head unit sticks, so the only buttons that function on the faceplate itself are for volume, source, and power. It IS however fully functional still with the included remote. Goods: 1.The goods far outweigh the bads. The stock battery has been replaced with a Red Top Optima, for more cold cranking amps and deeper cycles in the winter. 2.Vehicle has been well maintained its entire life, and still runs as new. Two minor collisions in 8 years is pretty respectable in my opinion. Let me reiterate that it has absolutely no frame damage, the repairs were simply to body panels and the front clip (headlights, bumpers, grill, etc. . .) 3. I had a Sony head unit installed in 2008 that will play and charge iPods, and it also accepts an auxiliary input for your phone, mp3 player, and other music devices. On the note of audio, the doors have Infinity Reference Series speakers in them. They are much stronger and crisper than stock, and provide a great listening experience. These were installed by myself (MECP Certified) shortly after the head unit install. Overall the truck has been absolutely wonderful to my father and I. It will be sad to see it go, but I am ready to move on to a new vehicle. If you have any questions or concerns don't hesitate to contact me. Please be sure to include a subject line referring to this ad in the e-mail or there's a good chance I won't notice it. I am very good about keeping up correspondence via e-mail, so have at it! I appreciate your interest and hope to make a sale soon. I would give the truck a 7/10 overall. Rear tires replaced this past winter and have about 8,000 miles on them. The fronts were replaced last summer and probably have closer to 13,000. I am willing to deliver up to 200 miles if reimbursed for the cost of gas in my other vehicle. Still have all the original paperwork, including window sticker for the vehicle. It has been taken care of meticulously over the last 8 years. I am accepting any offer, other than trades--I have already bought another vehicle but can't pick it up right away due to the fact that it is out of state. Serious inquiries please text or call at any time at: (423)723-4602. If I am unable to reach my phone please leave your name and number and a brief summary of any questions you have and I will be glad to get back to you. Title is clear and in hand, simply waiting for a new owner! Will also e-mail photos upon request, size restrictions prevent me from uploading them here
