Here is your chance to own one of the rarest big block Chevelle Convertibles ever built. Only 2,286 SS 396 Convertibles were produced in 1968. Off the road for the last 30 years, this one still has the original #'s matching 396 in place - not running but mostly all there minus carb and valve covers. The VIN on the front deck of the block matches the VIN on the car! It has the original 400 Turbo transmission, shifter and console - rear end is a 12 bolt, all stock and undisturbed - chassis is solid, no rot! The seats were in the car when I acquired it but disposed of them as they were not in repairable condition. The console is in good shape and the dash is intact and not cut up. All the original SS pieces are there. Column is good, door open & close as they should. Top bows are solid and go up and down - top is spring loaded manual. The header is rusty but good aftermarkets are available. All the convertible trim for the windshield and pinchweld is in excellent condition. Body - Floors are rusty and will need replaced. Quarter panels have never been cut or repaired but will need replaced. Original SS hood is PERFECT - no rust, super straight! Deck lid has a dent, front fenders have normal rust in the bottoms - rockers are solid, doors are nice. Vehicle is sold AS IS. You are welcome to inspect the car before bidding.
