Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is an all original, unrestored 1947 Chrysler Royal Sedan. I purchased this car earlier this year from the original owners estate in Ft Scott, KS where it had been parked in the garage since 1967. It has the original 251 cid 6-cyl engine with a fluid drive transmission. Since I purchased the car I have installed new plugs & wires, cap & rotor, points & condensor, battery, new brakes & wheel cylinders, master cylinder & brake hoses, new "tanks" fuel tank & sender, flushed and repaired the radiator and installed new hoses and thermostat - about $1,500 in parts alone. The engine runs well enough to run up and down the road but lacks little power - valves seem like they may be a little sticky or carboned up. I put in a can of Rislone and it runs better the more it's driven. The transmission works great and the brakes operate as they should. The body is in excellent condition. There is absolutely no rust/rot/holes anywhere on the vehicle. I had it on the lift the perform the brake work and the underside is clean, solid & tight. The previous owner had began spot sanding some areas and applying some body filler over some minor parking lot dings. This filler is not covering up any rust!. There are some surface rust areas due to leaving the sanded areas un-primed. The chrome on the bumpers and guards is next to perfect - no dings, dents, scratches or pitting. It is missing the rocker stainless moldings as well as the rear fender stainless. It is also missing the hood emblem and hood side scripts. The center hood trim and hubcaps are in the trunk. The interior is all original and in good shape considering it's 64+ years old. The headliner has a few holes from a mouse and the rubber floor covering is brittle. Rubber door sill plates are still good and plyable. Dash is nice and complete - clock even works! Radio lights up when you turn it on but I believe the speaker is bad. Dash lights, headlights, dimmer, ignition switch, choke, vents - all works! The wheels are original and very solid with no pitting. I have installed roller quality radial tires but are not the correct size as the originals were shot. The original spare tire and wheel are in the trunk along with the hubcaps and some misc pieces and parts. Overall an excellent & affordable restoration canidate! Sold AS IS. Buyer responsible transportation. Clear KS title provided upon full payment. Car runs, drives and stops - can easily be loaded onto a transport for shipping. I would consider a pre-72 trade offer - just send pics and description of what you've got to smills@qualitymotors.com or mills@totelcsi.com - any questions, please e-mail or call Scott at 620-330-6815. Thanks and good luck!
