Vehicle Detail

Here is a 1969 Dodge Dart GTS 383 4 Speed! This 1969 Dart GTS is a very cool car thats ready to be driven and enjoyed. This 1969 Dart GTS is a True Factory 383 as indicated by the Vin Number and Original Fender Tag. The 1969 Dart is equipped with the 383 and a 4 speed Manual Transmission along with an 8 3/4" rear with 3.23 Sure-Grip. The Vin Number is LS23H9B183243 and decodes as follows: L= Dodge Dart S= Special(GTS) 23 = 2 Door Hardtop H= 383 High Performance 4 Barrel Carburetor 9 = 1969 Model Year B = Hamtramck Michigan Assembly Plant 183243 =Sequential Build Number for Hamtramck Plant. The 1969 Dodge Dart GTS 383 Models are quite rare with low Production Numbers and their Survival rate is quite low as these cars were used hard and often converted to full drag cars. According to Galen Govier's Book along with the Production Numbers shown on the Dart GTS site, this car is 1 of 1,272 Dart GTS Hardtop's built with the 383 High Performance engine. There were 488 1969 Dart GTS 383 Hardtop's built with the Automatic Transmission and 784 Dart GTS 383 Hardtop's built with a 4 Speed Transmission. The standard engine in the 1969 Dart GTS was the High Performance 340 cubic inch engine and there were a total of 3,645 of these cool little screaming 2 Door Hardtops built for 1969. Chrysler even offered the big 440 cubic inch High Performance engine for the Dart GTS in 1969 and a total of 640 of these monster 440 powered Hardtop's were built of which all were equipped with the Automatic Transmission. All of these Dart GTS' are fairly rare some 42 years after they were built as these cars were inexpensive to buy and were favorites among young Hot Rodders and Racers! The Paint on this 1969 Dart GTS 383 looks absolutely AWESOME!!!! The car received a Quality Paint Job in Stunning Base/Clear with the Paint receiving multiple Coats of Clear atop the Stunning Bronze/Orange Metallic Paint Base Coat. The Correct Black GT SPORT Stripe was Painted on the car in the exact Factory location and then received multiple coats of Clear atop the Base Paint done over the entire car for a smooth mirror finish. The car received the New Paint job several years ago in an absolutely Gorgeous Color called "Atomic Orange" as used on the C6 Corvette's in very limited numbers. This color is a throwback to the 60' and is just a Gorgeous color on this GTS... Just Awesome with brilliant metellic and a shine thats very Deep!!! This quite similar to some of the Original Mopar Paint Colors offered for 1969 such as Bronze Metallic, Bronze Fire Metallic and the earlier Turbine Bronze Metallic to name a few. The Paint on this car is beautiful and looks great whether your in direct Natural Sunlight or in the shade. The Metallic in this Paint is absolutely Stunning on a Beautiful Sunny Day. This is a very Nice quality Paint job and it looks great in any Lighting conditions from beautiful natural Sunlight to the shade of an overcast Day or even at Dusk when the car seems to take on another completely different shade of Bronze. In the Natural Sunlight the Paint appears to be more of a Cool Orange/Bronze Metallic and looks amazing. I cant say enough about the paint on this car as its just beautiful all around with the only issues that I can think of being a couple of light scratches on the passenger side front edge of the Hood which might be able to be wet sanded and buffed out. It never bothered me enough to do anything with it as it looks nice enough for me and I only used this car as a Weekend Cruiser/Cruise Night car. There are probably a few minor scratches but absolutely nothing that stands out. Its just beautiful paint! The previous owners were a Husband and Wife Team who loved their Mopars! The Husband drove a slightly modified Real Deal 1970 Roadrunner and the 1969 Dart GTS 383 was bought specifically for his wife. From what I gathered in our many conversations, John's wife enjoyed the car immensely and used the car for weekend Cruising as well as Cruise Night Gatherings and the occasional Local Car Show where she took her share of Trophies with the little GTS 383! While this is not what I would refer to as a idea of a full blown show car, its a very nice car with Beautiful Paint and a Nice Clean Interior along with a Nicely detailed engine compartment. This Dart GTS 383 is certainly better than 70% of the cars that show up at out Local Cruise Night Events and even better than many of the cars that are entered in our Local Car Shows. Please keep in mind that I am an extremely picky car guy and I tend to be overly critical on many cars especially my own. This little GTS 383 is an extremely COOL car with Absolutely Outstanding eye appeal. People just love this car and are always flocking around it whenever you take it out for a drive. You cant even stop for gas without people stopping their cars just to have a look or to take pictures of the car with their Cell Phone Cameras. When I first went to see the car, one of the first things that I asked the female owner was "Why are you selling the GTS" and she quickly responded that she would like to get a Convertible." Her husband told me the same thing... she wants a Convertible! He told me that he was very happy with the car but that it was her car and therefore her decision to sell to try to buy another Mopar only this time it would be a convertible. I believe that they had a specific car in mind and that car had finally become available so the GTS had to go. I was fortunate enough to meet the previous Female Owner of this car and she was a super nice Gal who seemed to truly enjoy her 1969 Dart GTS 383 and her Husband is a Great guy who was as honest as the day is long concerning the old Dart. They were just a great couple who enjoyed the car hobby together and they were an absolute pleasure to deal with. Its nice when you actually get to meet the people that your buying a car from since the internet has made the buying and selling of our cars so impersonal. It was a very enjoyable experience dealing with this couple and I can only hope that I will have as much fun dealing with people like this in the future! The 1969 Dart GTS 383 in this auction is a great looking car with a fire breathing 383 that sounds absolutely Awesome! I wish that I were able to load a video of this car running just so you guys could hear the nasty sounding growl and lumpy cam coming trough the exhaust! This 383 sounds outright nasty straight through the exhaust which includes the Original factory 383 "A" Body Exhaust Manifolds running back through a pair of Flowmaster "style" Mufflers and then exiting at the rear bumper through a pair of Original Chrome Exhaust Tips. There is no sneaking into your local Cruise Night gathering unnoticed with this little Dart GTS 383 as the lumpy cam along with the throaty rumble from the engine make it impossible! This 383 engine sounds nasty and pulls hard through all 4 gears making this car a blast to drive. If your looking for a car thats just straight up loads of fun to drive then you will surely be happy with this GTS. The engine compartment in this 1969 Dart GTS 383 is nice and clean and was painted when the car was painted several years ago. The engine is said to have been rebuilt and I have no doubt about that as the engine is very clean both externally and internally. The engine is a correct year 1969 "E383" as stamped on the front of the Block and its wearing its Original Exhaust Manifolds with Chrysler Part # 2946729 and # 2863900 and the Manifolds are exceptionally nice in appearance although they could probably use a coat of Exhaust Manifold high heat paint as they were blasted and installed with their Natural finish which I personally prefer although some guys like the look of a Cast Blast High Heat paint. The engine is currently wearing an Edelbrock Torker 383 Aluminum Intake Manifold which performs quite well along with the new Edelbrock Model 8229 600 cfm Carburetor with an Electric Choke that works perfectly and there is a new Micro Electric Fuel Pump that insures constant fuel flow. The engine also has a Pair of Chrome Valve Covers, Chrome Thermostat Housing and a Chrome Dipstick to brighten up the engine compartment. The Engine runs as well as any 383 that Ive had in any of my old Mopars and sounds absolutely incredible through the exhaust. Im not sure what the specs are on the Cam Shaft but I believe the previous owner told me that it was a Mopar Purple Cam although I cant be sure without a cam card. I can tell you that there is no hiding the fact that this engine has an upgraded High Performance cam as it has a lumpy idle that is a true symphony to my ears! I just love the sound of a Big Block Mopar with an aggessive camshaft as no other engine sounds remotely similar to a nicely tuned Big Block Mopar with a serious cam! The engine starts effortlessly with the addition of a Crysler Electronic Distributor and an HVS 6600 MSD High Performance Ignition Box along with an Accel High Performance Ignition Coil. I also have a correct Original Mopar Unslienced Air Cleaner with a New 383 FOUR BARREL "Pie Tin" topper as they are called and this could be a nice addition to the engine compartment. It wouldnt take much to have this engine compartment looking completely stock with a days work if thats what your into. I love the way that this engine runs and sounds so Ive chosen to leave it alone and if the next owner would prefer to make it look bone stock then its an easy job. Personally I like the way that the engine compartment looks although I am usually into the completely stock factory look but as I said it looks great and performs flawlessly so Ive left it alone. The 4 Speed Transmission shifts perfectly with no issues and the Mopar Inland 4 Speed shifter works just fine. The Clutch feels great with no slipping and the clutch pedal is just right... not a super heavy clutch but one that gets the job done without your left foot shaking from pushing in the clutch pedal like some of the heavy duty Clutch and Pressure Plate assemblies that Ive had in some other cars over the years. The 4 Speed Transmission was added to the car as a previous owner wanted a 4 speed and the job was done nicely with an Original Inspection Plate Installed over the Flywheel and Clutch. The Transmission is an excellent working unit and pulls hard through all of the gears with absolutely no grinding in any of the gears and no problems with the shifter popping out of gear like as they do when the Synchronizers are going bad.... no issues with this one! The Rear appears to be the original 8 3/4" Unit with its 3.23 Sure-Grip.... no unusual noises and no problems. The car goes up the road just fine riding on a set of Mopar Rally Wheels with a New Set of Nice Wide Radial Tires in size 245/60R-15. The Rally Wheels are Nice with the early Cone or Bullet Style Center Caps and a very Nice set of Trim Rings. The Nice Wide Radials make for a very nice ride as well as a better handling car as these Big Block Powered "A" Body cars were a little heavy in the front so they didnt handle quite as well as the 340 powered A Body cars did but the 383 powered "A" Body cars surely went like a scalded dog in a straight line. The original Front Sway Bar is in place and appears to be in good condition. The car does not have any power options with Manual Steering and Manual Drum Brakes although the car stops on a dime and it steers quite easily when your moving along down the road. The only time that the Manual steering seems to need a little Muscle is when your working in a tight spot and then you have to muscle the steering wheel a little but lets face it, when we are out driving these old cars, we're using them on Nice Days or as Weather permits and we are just out having fun so the only time that the Manual steering is likely to be an issue is when your parking the car in your garage and if you have a decent size garage then the Manual steering will never be an issue. The gentleman that I purchased this car from bought this car for his wife and she drove the car without any problem! The Electrical components on this car are in good working order with the Headlights, High and Low Beams, Turn Signals, Fender Mounted Signal Indicators, Taillights, Brake Lights, Parking Lights, Dash Lights, License Plate Light, Interior Dome Light and Windshield Wipers are all in good working condition. The Speedometer, Odometer, Gas Gauge all work and there is a Trio of Gauges Mounted under the Dash which give a more Accurate reading as to the engines vitals with an Oil Pressure Gauge, Water Temperature Gauge and Amp Gauge along with a Tachometer Mounted on the Steering Column... all of the Gauges work just fine and the car runs very strong with excellent Oil Pressure and the Engine always runs nice and cool! I also have a New 4 Speed Backup Light Harness from Year One that will go with the car. The Radio doesnt seem to be working but Im not even sure that its hooked up as the Previous Owner had a modern CD System in the car and the Speakers are still in the Rear Package Tray and a Pair of smaller Speakers in the front door panels. I have a Sony CD Stereo New in the Box which could easily be mounted either in the, Dash, Gloxebox or under the Dash if you'd like to install a Modern CD Stereo System. in the car. I will include this with the car for those of you that want a modern CD Stereo in your car. I guess its nice to have the Tunes while your crusing but in a car like this, I would prefer to listen to the engine. It just sounds awesome.... the way a good Big Block Mopar should sound! The only other thing that I can think of thats not working on the car is the Heater as the car needs to have the heater hoses run and the in Dash Heater Controls are a little sticky so I have another set of Complete Heater Cotrols with the Heater and Air Levers, all Knobs and with the cables if you would like to swap them out. They will go with the car either way along with the new Heater Hose. I believe its original Mopar Heater Hose,,,NOS? I also have the Radiator Hose and Heater Hose Clamp Set and I believe an NOS Upper Radiator Hose although I'd have to look to be sure! The Chrome and Trim on the GTS is very nice overall with a Nice Clean Original Front Bumper with a couple of small marks on it. It looks very nice but as I said, there are a few marks on the Bumper. I have a nice Pair of Original Front Bumper Guards that will go with the car. The Rear Bumper is very Nice and appears to have been rechromed. The Grill and the Trunk Finish Panel are very nice with the Grill having a very nice shine as well as having beautiful Black Painted areas around the perimeter of the Grill.... its a very nice clean grill with nice detail. The Parking Lights mounted in the Grill are very nice and work properly. The Rear Trunk Finish panel is very nice and one of the better ones that I have seen over the years with very nice paint and a great overall look...nice and straight with nice Original aluminum along with the GTS Letters on the right hand side of the Grill are Crisp Red. There are 2 or 3 very tiny dings that are almost impossible to pick out unless your really looking hard to find them oterwise its a real nice original panel. The Chrome on the Hood Scoop Inserts is very nice as are the Original "383 4 BARREL" inserts.... they just look so cool and are quite nice... not new or perfect but very nice. The Front Fender Turn Signal Indicators have very nice chrome and they look great and best of all they work perfectly. These front fender turn signal indicators are a super cool option and I have only seen a few of these Darts with this option over the years. The Door Handles are very nice with good chrome and the doors open and close just fine. The Trim around the front and rear windshields look very nice although they are not flawless... very nice pieces overall. The car is a very cool car with a great look and it runs absolutely awesome. It has a very unique look and overall its a super cool car to use for your weekend cruising or the occasional run down the track if your so inclined. Just a super strong running factory 383 Dart GTS!!!! The Body looks nice and straight as you can see in the pictures that Ive added to the auction. When you look down the sides of the car it appears to be nice and straight as can be seen in the pictures from both the drivers side and passenger side rear. There was some body work done in various places on the car and Im sure there was some patch work done in a few places including the trunk but it seems as though its held up well as there no real issues with the body externally. There are a few very small bubbles under the paint on the very lower section of the drivers side quarter panel and you need to be on your hands and knees to see it. The car is priced fairly and you would be hard pressed to find a 1969 Dart GTS 383 car with beautiful paint that has an engine thats outright na As I said earlier, this is not a perfect car but a very nice clean car that can be enjoyed and driven now without doing a single thing to the car. You will surely be quite proud of this car and you should get many years of enjoyment out of this Rare 1969 Dart GTS 383. The Interior looks quite clean as you can see with new seat covers on the front and rear seats as well as new carpeting and a new headliner. As I mentioned earlier, the previous owners installed speakers in the rear package tray and in the front door panels so you can install a stereo of your choice or I will sell you my new Sont CD system for an extra $100. The Console is in good shape and the Mopar Inland 4 speed shifter looks good and works perfectly. The Dash Pad has a small crack but its nothing awful and you can either leave it alone or change the pad or even put one of those cool Dash Overlay Covers that seem to work so well. The original Heater Control Panel and Switches in the Dash and are a little sticky. There are a Beautiful set of Original Heater Controls that will come with the car which will clean up the Dash and replace the old sticky Heater Controls... just a nice complete used set with the Cable. I also have a beautiful Instrument Cluster Bezel which Surrounds and Covers the Speedometer and has the Beautiful Black and Chrome Trim around the perimeter of the Bezel along with the Lights....another Nice addition to the cars interior! Im not sure if its NOS or Restored but its beautiful and appears new. The interior is comfortable and looks nice and clean and it might be cool to Install the Sony CD Stereo that Im throwing in with the car. The Speakers are there already so maybe you can install the Stereo and enjoy some tunes. Overall its a nice clean car and a blast to drive and your not likely to find another Real Deal Dart GTS 383 at a reasonable price as these cars demand big money. I know of an absolutely stunning restored example that recently changed hands in the upper 40K range. The car in this auction is not a rotisserie restoration but rather a clean driver restoration with nice paint and an awesome drivetrain. Like most older cars there are always some things that you can improve and Im sure you'll find some things that you would like to change or make a little more correct. Either way this is a Super Cool 1969 Dart GTS 383 and I assure you that this 1969 GTS 383 if very reasonably priced. Please feel free to call me with any questions at 215-499-2693 and I will be happy to go over the car with you or answer any questions that have about the car. If your into a totally correct factory original style restoration then you can certainly make some changes to the car depending on what you like. The GTS is a cool old car that runs and drives very well and the car is clean throughout with beautiful paint and nice trim.... keep in mind that it was intended to be used as a driver so you can get in this GTS and have a blast driving the car anywhere! The 383 sounds absolutely incredible and makes loads of Horsepower which can get you in a whole lot of trouble quickly if your old Teenage sense of adventure kicks in. I have gone through the gears in this car while under heavy acceleration and I gotta tell you guys, its a real blast!!! I was immediately taken back to the 70's when I was a young kid who thought he was indestructable but I quickly remembered that the local police dont take too kindly to Hot Rodding on our Townships streets. Its just hard to behave yourself when your sitting behind the wheel of a car thats got a nasty cam with that thumpity thumpity choppy idle resonating in your head! These 1969 Dart GTS 383 cars are quite rare and very desirable among Muscle car Collectors. This is an extremely COOL car thats a BLAST to drive and you will be quite impressed with the way that this car looks and even more impressed with the way that this GTS runs. It is one nasty sounding car for sure!!!! The High Bidder should contact me within 24 hours of the auctions end and the car should be paid for in full within 5 days of the auctions end by either bank check, bank wire transfer, money order or even personal check is fine as long as it has time to clear before the car is picked up. The winning bidder is responsible for all shipping expenses although I would be happy to help with shipping arrangements as I know several Reputable Insured Professional Auto Transporters who can pick this car up at my home and deliver it to your front door at a very reasonable price. Please feel free to call me or email me with a shipping quote and I will be happy to help. I strongly suggest that you come and see this car in person if your able as there is nothing better than inspecting a Classic car in person. I know how dificult it can be buying a classic car and spending your hard earned money without seeing what your buying. It can be a very nerve wracking experience so please try to come out to see the car and if you cant come out then please consider hiring one of the many Classic Auto Inspection Services that are out there. These guys will come and check the car out for you and all at a very reasonable price. They will take pictures and take plenty of notes, drive the car and make sure that its described as they see it and not as the seller see's it although they are often one in the same or at least thats been my experience. Having a Classic Car Inspection Service come out to look a car over for you is a great way to get a little peace of mind without spending a lot of money so please consider all of these things before you bid. If your not able to come and see the car and your not able to have anyone inspect the car for you then your welcome to call me and I will go over every panel on this car with you by phone. On Dec-17-11 at 15:10:01 PST, seller added the following information: I just wanted to add some further information about the Dart GTS. This Dart GTS is a Fun Driver that can be reliably driven on the Weekends or anytime for that matter. Its a great car to use drive to your local Car Shows, Cruise Night Events or Car Club Gatherings. The Paint on this car is very Nice and looks great. The engine Compartment is Nice and Clean and Shows just fine for a 42 year old car. The Interior is Clean throughout although there have been some modifications such as the Front Seats, Under Dash Gauges, Upper interior Door paint is body color and there is a Tach on the Steering Column...... not flawless but clean and comfortable. The Dart GTS has some modifications that were done by a previous owner which include the Cool Paint job in Atomic Orange which is a late model C6 Corvette color. The Paint color reminds me of a late 60's Mopar Bronze like the old Turbine Bronze Metallic, Copper Metallic, Light Copper Metallic, Burnt Orange and Dark Bronze Metallic etc etc. The Paint on the car has a lot of Metallic which looks absolutely incredible in the sunlight! The Paint on the car looks very nice although there are some minor imperfections here and there with the only scratches that stand out being a couple on the right front side of the Hood and they are not a big deal in my opinion...again nice but not perfect. The car was an original Gold Paint car with an Automatic Transmission and as you can see, it was converted to a 4 Speed. They did a good job on the conversion and most importantly, everything looks good and works properly with Nice Shifts with the Mopar Inland 4 Speed shifter and a great clutch. The Production Numbers for the 1969 Dart GTS 383 Automatic are just 488 cars while Production Numbers for the 1969 GTS 383 4 speeds are 784 .... either way, a fairly rare car considering that they were made 42 years ago and most were run into the ground and very few survive today. The Seats in the car are Mopar High Back Buckets and they are comfortable and clean although the previous owner could have done a better job of installing the seat covers as they are a little loose across the tops edges. The original bucket seats for a 1969 Dart were low back bucket seats and although I do not have the original front bucket seats that were removed from this car, I do have a pair of Black 1967 Mopar Low Back Bucket Seats and if the new owner would like them then they are more than welcome to have them with the car. The Back Seat looks Nice and Clean and they did a Nice job on recovering the Rear Seat. The restoration done on this Dart GTS is not perfect and it was done so that the car could be used as a fun weekend driver. The car is a Fun Weekend Cruiser and it is a Blast to drive with the 4 Speed and the 383 pulls really strong. This car is always surrounded by people whenever its out on the road but I guess thats the case with many old cars. This car has Outstanding eye appeal when you come walking up on it and it Sounds Straight out Nasty!!!! It is a Driver!!!! The Body on the car looks nice and straight although I dont know if any panels were replaced. I do know that there was some work done to the quarter panels, lower fenders and Im sure there was work done in various other places. Im just trying to tell as much as I can because I dont want anybody to be disappointed with their purchase. Its an awesome little car that runs great and looks very nice.... its just not a concourse style restoration. Its a great looking turn the key and drive car with an awesome running 383 and very pretty paint. The Undercarriage is Undercoated and Im sure there was some work done although I have not been able to use my friends lift at his business to get any pictures. Once again this is a Driver that looks Nice and Runs really Strong.... Sounds even Better! The car has outstanding eye appeal as I mentioned earlier and I have seen lesser cars at many of our local car shows and Cruise Night events..... heck Ive seen cars show up at our local shows that were still in primer! This is not a car that your going to win any National Shows with but you will not be ashamed to take it out and enjoy yourself on a Beautiful Sunny Day and you will have more Fun Grabbing Gears in this car than with many cars that may cost 2 or 3 times as much as this little GTS. The car is well received at local Cruise Night gatherings and when you pull into the Cruise with this little Dart, you can be sure that you will have a crowd form around the car just because of its good looks and awesome sounding exhaust tone! The engine in this Dart GTS is a 1969 383 according to the "E383" Stamping on the front of the Block although I dont believe its the numbers matching engine. The engine has the very hard to find Original Big Block "A" Body Exhaust Manifolds and they are in super nice condition. They are not Reproductions or a made pair. The intake Manifold is an Edelbrock Torker which works very well with this engine and its topped with a New 600 cfm Edelbrock Carburetor with a good working electric Choke. The engine starts easily and runs really strong although it is a little cold hearted like most big block Mopar engines. The 383 Sounds awesome with a real aggressive sounding choppy idle that resonates nicely through the full dual exhaust which exits through a pair of Chrome Exhaust Tips. The engine makes good power through all of the gears and has plenty of midrange and topend power with the 3.23 Sure-Grip rear gears. The engine compartment is nice and clean although its not "show" restored. Its definitely nice and clean but there are no Mopar hoses or Original Mopar battery and there are always some things that could be done to improve the looks of the engine compartment as well as the rest of the car. Its a Great Driver!!!! If I sound like Im being overly critical its because I dont want anybody to be disappointed. Ive had a few people tell me that I am way too picky and that my descriptions are not only long winded but also very harsh because of my critical nature but I guess thats how Ive managed to keep my 100% Positive Feedback on Ebay over the last 11 1/2 years. One more time.... If your looking for a fun little Mopar thats fairly rare with a Super Strong running and exceptionally nasty sounding engine then you will love this car. This 1969 Dart GTS 383(Original 383 car) is Strong running car and with the 4 Speed its just a whole lot of fun to drive. The paint is nice and has a great shine as well as a very pretty overall appearance. The Chrome and Trim on this car are fairly nice with a nice clean Grill and a very nice Original Trunk Finish Panel... Nice Chrome Hood Scoop Inserts, Nice Taillight Bezels, Nice Chrome Fender Mount Turn Signal Indicators, Nice Door Handles..... real nice Chrome Bumpers although there are a few little marks on the front bumper....overall, very nice Chrome and Trim! The Interior looks nice and clean throughout although the front seat covers could have been done a little nicer and the Dash Pad has a little crack. The Glass in the car is all good with a New Windshield installed during the restoration. The Heater Controls are sticky and I have a very Nice set of Heater Controls that come with the car as well as a Show Quality Instrument Cluster Bezel and a Pair of Front and Rear Bumper Guards that have very Nice Chrome. The Headliner and Carpets are Nice and the Console is clean although it could use a little detailing. The Radio in the car is an Original Mopar Radio although I dont beleive that it is hooked up as the previous owner had an After-Market Radio in the car and they left the Speakers in the car so it would be easy to install the New Sony CD Player that I have for the car which will also go to the New Owner. There was some weather stripping replaced while the car was being done but the wing window weather stripping on this car should be replaced as the weather stripping appears to have shrunk up a bit. The Dash Lights, Headlights, Taillights, Parking Lights, Brake Lights, Turn Signals- Fender Mounted and Grill Mounted, Windshield Wipers, Speedometer, Gas Gauge, Odometer all work and even the Turn Signal Cancellator all works properly. The car comes with a Clean Title that matches the Vin Number. The car has the Matching Original Fender Tag and the Radiator Core Support has the last 6 digits of the Vin clearly stamped which match the Vin Number on the Dash as well as the Vin Number on the Fender Tag and the Vin Number on the Title. If your looking for an Affordable Big Block Mopar "A" Body thats Nice and Clean and Run and Drives very well then this might be the car for you. Real Big Block "A" Body Mopars dont show up for sale very often and when they do, they are either Restored to very High Standards and priced accordingly at $35,000-$60,000 Plus or they are often major projects that are in need of absolutely everything and still priced at $10,000-$18,000..... these prices were taken from the many 1967-1969 Mopar Big Block "A" Body cars that Ive seen for sale on Ebay as well as other sites and publications over the last few years. The prices seem to vary and there are always the exceptions as a good deal does come by every once in awhile although most Big Block A Body Owners who have done exceptional restorations on these cars know just how expensive it can be to restore one of these Rare little Muscle cars. Take a few minutes to compare these Mopar Big Block Dart's or Barracuda's to the prices of comparable 1967-1969 Camaro SS396 cars or 1967-1970 Mustang 390 and 428CJ cars and the Mopars seem like an a bargain or at least it seems that way to me and the production figures on these Mopars are far lower than those of any of the comparable Camaro's or Mustang's. The 1969 GTS 383 shown in this auction is a Great little car! It has stunning good looks and is a great driving, excellent running factory 383 Big Block car with very low production numbers making it a fairly Rare Mopar Muscle car. The Paint on this car is a wonderful color that takes on a very unique look under different lighting conditions or weather conditions.... in the shade or on an overcast day it appears to be more of a Bronze color and in the Natural Sunlight or in a well lit garage, it appears to be the Awesome shade of an Orange/Bronze Metallic with a far cooler look than the original Mopar Bronze or Burnt Orange Paint Colors of the late 60's and early 70's. Its just a Gorgeous Color and the Paint is very nice! The car has some modifications as Ive mentioned several times but nothing tragic and certainly nothing that couldnt be put back to bone stock if thats what you wanted. I wouldnt change a thing if I were looking for a car that I wanted to enjoy on the weekends or use for local Cruise Night events or Car Club events..... its just too cool the way it is!!!!! Last but not least, this is a Turn-Key car that needs nothing to be enjoyed today!!!! Sure there is always room for improvement or room to personalize the car to your liking and I guess we all do that with every car that we own in one way or another. The bottom line is that this is a great little 1969 Dart GTS 383 that you can confidently drive today and have a great time while doing so. Just turn the key on this Dart GTS and the Big 383 Fires right up and once this baby warms up, the aggressive lumpy camshaft sounds nastier and nastier.... it just sounds great and that my friends is music to my ears!!!! The car runs great, drives nicely and steers like a Big Block "A" Body Mopar..... Stops fine with good brakes and goes up the road very well. The car is a real head turner and everybody who has seen the car in person, just loves the car. Everybody comments about the super cool paint and then once they hear it run, well they just cant believe that it sounds as healthy as it does. I guess that most people dont expect a little Dodge Dart to sound like its ready to make a pass down the track..... anyway.... its just a great sounding engine and I love just listening to this car at idle and then of course the best part is the way that it sounds when your going through the 4 gears while your getting into the throttle pretty hard! Music to my ears!!!!! The car is a Wonderful Driver thats been restored to be a Driver although the previous owners took their share of trophies with the Dart at various car shows in their area. If you want a car to drive while turning heads everywhere that you go then your on the right track with this Dart GTS. This is a good clean car thats ready to be enjoyed. The Tires are Like New and are a Nice set of Matching Radials with a pretty Wide Foot Print.... just a real nice Wide Tire which really makes the little Dart GTS 383 drive that much better in my opinion. The Transmission shifts beautifully and the Clutch feels very good with no problems.... no slipping and no grinding gears when your shifting..... just a great working 4 speed that makes this car so much fun to drive! Im not sure what else I can say except to call me if you have any questions or concerns. This is a great running GTS 383 and has a really cool look. Im going to leave you with all of this information and I hope that you find it helpful and honest enough to assist you with making a good buying decision. I may have seemed a little hard on the car but I want the new owner to be happy with the car as well as feeling as though they received a fair and honest representation of the car. Please call me with any further questions or concerns and I will be happy to answer any questions that you have. If you need help with transporting this Dart GTS then just let me know as I can help you out with making the transport plans. I know several insured professional transporters who will deliver this car to your front door at a very reasonable price. Thanks again for taking the time to go over all of the information that Ive added to this auction and good luck with the bidding. Tony 215-499-2693 I HOPE THAT ALL OF YOU HAVE A VERY HAPPY AND HEALTHY HOLIDAY SEASON AND THAT THE NEW YEAR BRINGS YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES GOOD HEALTH, LOTS OF HAPPINESS AND MUCH JOY! On Dec-18-11 at 20:02:42 PST, seller added the following information: The Cam in the engine is a Good Street Cam with an awesome sound at idle through the Dual Exhaust! I just love the sound of a nice aggressive cam with a lumpy idle and thats why Ive mentioned it many times. Ive had 2 people ask me if the car was streetable and the answer is YES, this is absolutely a street car. This Dart is an easy car to drive and the only time that the Manual Steering requires a little muscle is when your in a tight spot and then you have to muscle the steering wheel a little otherwise its an easy car to drive. The car was driven by a woman and apparently she had no trouble driving the car so Im sure that you guys can handle driving this Dart GTS 383 without any trouble. The body looks nice and straight when you look down the sides. I have no idea as to what if any panels were replaced on the car. I am sure that there was some body work and patch work done on the quarter panels, lower fenders and in the trunk and possibly elsewhere but the car looks very nice from the exterior with nice paint and a good straight body. I didnt see the car before it was painted and I dont know exactly what was done to the body although it appears to have had much of the typical A Body issues before it was painted in beautiful Atomic Orange. I bought the Dart as you see it and have done little to the car since Ive owned it except for changing the Oil and doing a few minor repairs. The car looks very nice and is a fun car to drive. It was not restored to "show" standards but its a great car to cruise around on the weekends and it runs very strong. You will not be disappointed with the way that this car runs and drives! I am being critical because I am just picky when it comes to old cars and I have been fortunate enough to have owned a couple of these cool cars over the years which were either restored or real nice survivors. I am by no means an "expert" but I have owned my share of Mopar Muscle cars over the last 30+ years and although this Dart GTS is not what I would consider a show car, it is a very cool and extremely attractive Turn-Key Driver than runs great! You would be right at home at your local Cruise Night event or even at your local Car Show but its not a "show car" .... its a driver!!!! Keep in mind that 90% of the cars that I see at Local Car Show's are Not what I consider to be "Show Cars". I think I have described the car fairly well and hopefully you will get a good idea as to the cars condition or at least good enough to help you to decide whether or not you would like to bid on this car. I have been told that I am overly critical to the point that I may have discouraged some potential buyers from bidding on the car. One guy who called me about the GTS actually told me that I sounded as though I was trying to talk him out of buying the car. I assure you that Im not trying to talk anybody from bidding on the car but I do want potential bidders to know as much as possible so that they can make a well informed decision before they spend their hard earned money. Thanks again for taking the time to read my auction. I know that much of the information that Ive provided in this auction seems to be the same repeated over and over again. Ive done this because I seem to get the same questions over and over again whether it be through emails or phone calls. Please take the time to read the auction and I think you'll get most of the information that you need. If you know a Mopar guy in the Philly area then your welcome to have him come out and look at the car for you. I will be available all day Monday 12/19 so its not too late to have somebody come out and check it out for you or you can call me at 215-499-2693 and I will go over every panel with you by phone as I walk around the car. Below you will find a list of parts that come with the car. You may or may not use them but they are nice parts and either way you'll get them with the car if you'd like to have them...... thanks again. THE PAINT IS SUPER COOL IN NATURAL SUNLIGHT AND LOOKS MORE OF A DARKER BRONZE METALLIC IN THE SHADE!!!!
