Vehicle Detail

1967 Ford Mustang 289-V8 Factory Stick Shift VIN: 7R01C134802 Remember how much you cared for your first real girlfriend back in junior high? When I was in the ninth grade, mine had the coolest Dad in the whole world! He worked for Ford here in western Washington and drove a white ’67 Coupe just like this one! He even let me drive it around the block several times alone – something my father wouldn’t EVER let a 14 year-old get away with! Over the years I’ve owned many vintage Stangs and this has been one of the most fun to come our way in a long, long time. We acquired it over eight years ago directly from a family that had owned it several decades and have kept the car in our warehouse, only driving it sparingly during summer months. I’ll truly miss it! If you’re in the market for a well-kept, nearly factory-stock vintage driver please give this Mustang coupe your kind attention. You’re also welcome to contact me with questions or to discuss a sale prior to the end of our Ebay listing. My name is Mark Thompson and I can be reached at 206/914-1173 just about anytime. Please leave a voice message (or text me) if we don’t connect immediately. CONDITION: The photos really tell the car’s story. In the late fall of 1967, this rig sold locally here in the snow & salt-free Pacific Northwest and has been in this region ever since. I take great pride in the vehicles we sell and feel that you should know as much about them as possible. Accordingly, here is a list of the good and also things possibly needing attention: The only real body flaws to point to in the photos are some dings on the rear lower valances (front & back) as pictured - nothing serious, I’d leave them as-is. All the factory glass is great with the exception of a single rock ship in the windshield. The engine compartment is clean and fully detailed. Climb over, under and throughout and I know you’ll come up smiling! Rust? Well, this classic cruiser HATES rust and you’ll be very hard pressed to find ANYTHING here to worry about. Yes, the Puget Sound region gets its share of drizzle, but rarely any snow so our winter roads are not salted. One snowflake and everyone stays home. Besides, this vehicle has not even seen a winter road in the near decade I’ve owned it! One turn of the key and the strong, original 289 cubic-inch V8 fires right up with just a few pumps of the gas pedal when cold. The three-speed stick transmission operates smoothly, just like it should with NO clutch binding or slippage. Take another look at the interior shots. The carpets and headliner are in great condition. Both front buckets are soft and supple with no breakdown of the cushion material or seam splitting. As pictured, there are NO cracks in the dash cover. The original headliner and sun visors are fine. There’s a barely noticed straight 4 in. tear just above the driver’s door covered with black tape. The matching carpets are clean and absolutely still like new. Both door panels, arm rests, cranks and handles in & out were replaced several years back and are also like new. I’m quite impressed with the condition of the dash gauges. They still look as clear and bright to me as the day this rig left the San Jose plant back on November 12, 1967 heading for the Seattle District Sales area. An oil pressure gauge has been discreetly added under the dash as well as a modern Alpine CD stereo. As my un-retouched photos show, the overall exterior is very good and the antique white paint holds a shine very well. Absolutely NO pitting or chrome wear to the bumpers. I really debated whether to add aftermarket wheels to the car, but as others suggested, it’s so unusual to see a bone-stock Mustang anymore that we should maintain the factory stock appearance in and out. My only concession has been radial tires for safety and drivability. Each has at least 75% remaining tread. This Mustang really has been a blast to drive and absolutely turns heads everywhere you go! Because I’m always asked, here’s a breakdown of the door data plate and VIN code: Body: 65A – Two-door coupe Color: 8 - Springtime Yellow (redone in Antique White years ago) Trim: 2A - Black Interior, Standard Bucket Seats Date: 12L – November 12, 1966 DSO: 74 – Seattle District Sales Office Axel: 0 – 2.79:1 Rear Axel Gears Trans: 1 - Three-speed Manual Transmission (2.77 gears) Plant: R - San Jose, California (always a West Coast Car!) Engine: C - 289 Cubic Inch V-8 2V Heads Please feel free to contact me with any questions. As outlined above my phone number is 206/914-1173. You’re welcome and encouraged to make an appointment to come by, drive and then make an offer. I want you to BID WITH CONFIDENCE and know that you’re purchasing a very nice vehicle from a respected Ebay Seller. Remember, this is a forty-five year old vehicle and it isn’t going to be perfect nor will it ever be as comfortable or smooth driving as my Mercedes E320! I’m sure there are flaws I’ve missed when going over the car, so you’re inspection is welcomed. My main goal is be sure you’re happy with your purchase - and your dealings with me. Please Note: WE will NEVER, EVER “shill” or falsely "bump-up" an auction (a violation of eBay rules and also Federal Law). Because of the amount of money involved in buying a vehicle, we require that new eBay members with a feedback history of five or fewer transactions call or email before placing a bid. If we don’t have this initial contact, your bid may be cancelled. A Few Additional Terms and Conditions: Please check the photos over closely and call with any questions BEFORE you place a bid! We reserve the right to cancel your bid if you have any negative feedback. DEALERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME TO BID AS WELL! Additionally I will end the auction early if the Mustang is no longer for sale or an acceptable offer has been agreed to by a smart early-bird that works out a deal before the end of this listing. A nonrefundable $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of the auction’s end. Because of the high fees they charge, we accept PAYPAL for the deposit only. The balance is due by cash or certified funds within seven days unless prior arrangements have been made with me. Please remember you are bidding to buy and I fully expect the winning bidder to fulfill their Ebay contract! You’re not bidding to hold, inspect or then come test-drive the Mustang later (Please come do this before the auction ends). If you do decide to have the car shipped home, there are many great transport companies to choose from. We ship vehicles regularly and I'd suggest that you get a transport bid from www.U-ship.com. Transporters will bid delivery of the vehicle and you'll be able to choose who you want to use. The zip code for pick-up would be 98032 (Kent, Washington) to get an instant on-line quote. The shipping cost and company chosen are the responsibility of the BUYER. I’m always happy to store free of charge at our location for up to two weeks after full payment has been made but will charge $15 per day after that. You’d be surprised how many folks will leave a car for MONTHS here without arranging transport! I’m available almost every day but Sunday for pickup, but please call ahead. The Buyer is responsible for the licensing requirements in their state of residence. If you live here in Washington State I’ll need to collect the 9.5% sales tax, title preparation, transfer and registration fees. If you’re from out-of-state there’s only a $50 document fee. Because the Mustang is advertised and for sale locally, I need to reserve the right to cancel this auction early if it’s no longer available for sale online. The State of Washington shall have exclusive jurisdiction over all disputes. Venue shall be exclusively in King County. The final contract signed between both buyer and seller shall be binding. The final signed contract and terms thereof shall govern the sale. All disputes arising out of or relating to this auction, any negotiations, the signed agreement, or to the breach, enforcement or interpretation thereof, shall be resolved by binding arbitration in Washington, in accordance with the terms contained in the final sale agreement and under the laws of the State of Washington.
