Here's your chance to own a very nice mostly original classic Ranger pickup. This truck is not without flaws, but they are minor. It has not been patched up with fillers or rust repair panels. It has a minimal amount of bubbling starting over the rear wheels and a small area in the bed where it had a bedliner all of its life. It was bought new in IL and remained there by the same owner until his death a while back. He left the truck in his will to his friend who didn't have enough indoor garage space to keep it. I bought the truck and then was offered a jeep I had been trying to buy for a while. That's why I'm selling the truck. It's not because there's anything seriously wrong with it. It is very clean inside and out and starts, runs and drives down the road like a new truck. It's very tight, quiet and everything works as it should. It has the 351M and C6 Transmission. It even comes with the original owners manual and the original instructional audio cassette tape. They're both in the glove box where they have been since 1977. The tires are new also. The only thing I have had to do to it was put new valve cover gaskets on it due to a slight leak. It is now dry from front to back. As you can see it comes with an extra tailgate because there's a slight dent above the handle and a very small area of surface rust only at the bottom left where it hinges. It is an easy fix, but the extra tailgate is there if you want it. I cant stress enough how well this truck drives and runs. It's not like the ones that have been restored that you can tell has a million miles on them. The truck is showing 22,000 miles, but the original cluster was replaced a few years ago due to it just quit working. I have the original cluster that shows 30,000 plus miles. If this is correct and I believe it is then this truck has less than 60,000 actual miles. It's a used truck so I can't prove that, but when you drive it I think you'll believe it too. I was told the a/c works as well. The guy that owned it did'nt like a/c and didn't even have it in his house. He removed the belt, but I checked the compressor clutch and it moves freely as it should. You get in this truck in any weather, pump the accelerator twice and you're ready to go. It looks like the next bid or two will meet what I was allowed to lower it to. I have had so many e-mails with low-ball offers and offers for trades for all kinds of things it's actually becoming more of a headache than a simple sale of a truck. Again, this is a very nice truck that has been well taken care of and should go for quite alot of money compared to some I see sell for outrageos prices and I know they're are not the truck this one is. As I said, it's not perfect there are a few flaws, but it was driven and used by the man that owned it. It's an honest truck that reveals some use and not a patched up piece of junk. I would leave in this truck to drive anywhere and feel comfortable that I would get to where I was going without any issues. The suspension is original so it rides good and doesn't dart all over the road. It shifts smooth and the engine is quiet. It's not a rockcrawler. It just hasn't been tampered with. It still has the same gear ratio so you drive down the road just like it did in 1977. Nice, quiet, smooth and in a straight line. I dropped the reserve for a lot less than I have in it, but I'm confident there are people out there who will pay what this truck is worth. You know how much they are, we've all seen them sell here on ebay. Bid a reasonable amount and the high bidder gets a very nice and dependable classic truck. I will require a 500.00 deposit through paypal when the auction ends and the balance when picked up or before shipping.
