Vehicle Detail
I am the original owner of this car--bought it new in 1998 with 14 miles showing on the odometer, It was my daily driver for about 4 years, then my wife drove it for another 4. In the past 3-4 years it hasn't been more than 2000 miles or so a year--my need for hauling large numbers of people or cargo has dropped quite a bit. I've been driving it to the grocery store weekly, but have been using other cars we own except when have I have a lot of stuff to move. It's always been garaged, My kids are reaching driving age, and I'm going to have 1 or 2 more cars around for the next few years. I have a 3 car garage, but now own 4 including the Navigator. This is only going to get worse. If you're looking for a truck like this, you understand why I won't let the kids use it--its simply too big and the center of gravity too high for an inexperienced driver. Bottom line--I've decided I just don't have room for a vehicle that I drive so seldom. Although I'm reluctant to sell it, I need the space and the freedom to not be forced to move cars around all the time. This is a really plush and well equipped truck. They took the F-150 frame of the time, and tacked on every option--heavy duty skid plates, radiator, supplemental oil and transmission coolers, towing package, the works. It's factory wired for trailer connection--the plug and wiring harness is included, I've never used it for the short-term hauling that I've done over the years. Every luxury option was standard--leather, extra A/C and radio controls, 6 CD changer, memory seats, heated mirrors--you name it, it's there. The steering wheel is walnut, as is the interior trim. As can be seen in one of the pictures, the original sticker was $44,000+. The 3rd row leather bench seat is included, although it's not in the pictures--I've had it under cover in the basement of recent. I've kept it in excellent repair--have changed the oil every 3000 miles or so, new brakes, tires, battery, etc as needed. Did a major rebuild at the dealer about 7 years ago. Most recently, put in new brakes all around last May. The leather is all in good shape, and everything works, except the compass--which does work, but only when you're driving southeast. Seriously, it's stuck on SE and has been for years--I've never bothered to have it repaired. One accident--many years go. The Navigator was so solid it only created minor damage to the drivers-side front bumper--repaired at the time. No rust. This is a great truck, it's been very good to me and I've taken good care of it--but it needs a new home. Location is about a half hour north of Boston, off I95.
