GREAT DRIVER! Touting big-truck toughness but the riding smoothness of a Ford passenger car was the calling card of the 1964 Ford Custom Cab Pickups. Two stage rear springs and a long wheelbase along with cab components such as all welded design for fewer squeaks and rattles. 38 lbs. of insulation to help seal out heat and noise and husky double-wall doors. The double side-wall Styleside box was also the strongest ever. The engine in this truck is the Ford 302, which appears to be from a mid 80's mustang. The Transmission has been upgraded with AOD so that this truck can keep up with modern day highway speeds. The Undercarriage is very clean and very solid, and our mechanic has given it a clean bill of health, as well as an approval of the AOD job and cross-bars added underneath to support it. The body is in solid shape and the truck runs excellently, driving as smooth as you could hope for a truck of its age. Non-posi rear end on this truck. Also, this truck has a master switch to the battery to turn off all electrical supply when the truck needs to be stored and not run for periods of time. This is a great little truck to add to the collection; and it runs just as you would hope it does. The paint is obviously not original and this is not show quality, but a very fun little car to drive to baseball game and the ice cream stand.
