Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is an excellent project car, which I hate to part with. It is 1958 Edsel, Ranger which many prefer for their uncluttered classic body lines. The speedometer shows 69,000. The car has the EF 400 (361 CID) engine with an automatic transmission. Like many of the other ads on eBay, this is a car that I bought to restore but I now realize I will not get to it anytime soon and I would rather let someone else enjoy the work and rewards. The car does not currently run. Legend has it that the previous owner’s son allowed the antifreeze to become weak and “the engine popped a freeze plug”. Whether this is the case or there is crack in the block, I honestly do not know; however interestingly enough there is a new freeze plug in the glove box. There is no water in the oil and the engine does turn over. This is one of the most complete 1950s cars I have seen in years; it even has a 1960s bias ply white sidewall spare. Mechanically the only faults I could find were a missing fuel pump, I bought a new old stock pump which comes with the car and the car has an inoperative ignition switch; I also bought a new one of those. The brake pedal goes to the floor, but as always with these old single chamber master cylinder systems, you should pay a lot of attention to this system. Mechanically the car is all there. This one will not keep you busy running to the junkyard. The body is straight and virtually rust free; this one will not have you talking a sheet metal welding class at your local college of technology. Buff the paint and enjoy it. The car appears to be an original Montana Car and we have little rust problem here as we use no salt. The hood ornament is AWOL and while present the radio antenna is not properly fastened. Body wise the car is all there. The grill, bumpers, garnish and moldings are there and need only to be cleaned to be very presentable. The interior is best described as sun baked but intact; none of it is deteriorated beyond serving as patterns. You could put throws over the seats and drive the car as is. The windshield is cracked as is the passenger’s front side window. The doors open, close and fit and the windows roll up and down. The Interior of the car is all there to include all knobs, switches and even the cigarette lighter. In closing, the old car could be drivable in very little time. You could restore it or hot rod the car, although I would not like to see that. This one needs another chance in life to show up at your local car shows as a unique 1950 vintage example. It would make a great project for a father and son/daughter or whatever. It is sold as is and where is with no guarantee or warrantee implied or specified. I require a non refundable deposit of $500 within three days of sale and the remainder before I send you the title; the title is clear and properly notarized. I am very proud of my 100% feedback rating and I will answer questions to the best of my ability and post them so that others can benefit from them. I do have a truck and trailer and could deliver or do a partial delivery within a reasonable distance. Please New York City, Daytona Beach, and Pakistan are not reasonable driving distances to Clancy, Montana. Good luck and thank you for your interest. On Dec-08-11 at 18:17:28 PST, seller added the following information: To those of you who I have promised additional pictures, it looks like that is something eBay will not allow once the bidding begins. However to be fair to you and to honor my promise if I do not gat a "buy it now" in the nest 24 hours I will cancel the ad and relist at my cost to add your pictures. Also to the person who said the last picture looks like a truck interior, it is. I made a mistake and added a picture of a 1951 GMC. On Dec-10-11 at 18:28:32 PST, seller added the following information: PICTURESAt last I figured out the picture upload all except the one of the 51 GMC and I cannot delete that one. I have added those most of you asked for. Now that the reserve has been met hopefully the bidding will blow right past the buy it now!
