Vehicle Detail
" 1 of a Kind " Makes 48 LBS of Boost Turbo/ Intercooled /1992 Cummins 12 valve I have a 1956 Ford F1 Cab on a 1992 Dodge 3500 Cummins chassis with a 5 speed Getrag, 3.54:1 open rear. Chassis has been shortened two feet to except a 56 ford bed. Dan Carpenters makes new beds for these. Or you can make it a wrecker, flat bed, etc. I just drive it the way it is. It has mud flaps, so it is legal. Took a few springs out of the rear for a softer ride. It still rides stiff but is so much fun. When you take this to a drag strip or a cruise night it steals the show. People love this thing. Always get a crowd. It whistles like a jet when you put it in first and cruise through. This truck will get 20 + MPG if you are easy on the throttle. The side windows are double pain but are broke. They do roll up and down. I was going to order a whole Lexan window kit, but never did. Truck has Sport Comp 2 Gauges, Fuel Pressure, Pyro Gauge, and Boost Gauge. It also has the stock cummins dash, but it is just sitting in the dash and needs to be fastened. The wiring needs to be re tied under the dash and the gauges should be set better because they work but sometimes they do not. All the new sport comp gauges work all the time. I removed the Tachometer it did not work, You would need a ISO pro tach and it would work. Also a tunnel needs to be fabricated on the passenger side because I took out a little of the fire wall to fit the new 4" exhaust. The truck could use new rear cab mounts because it is just bolted to the frame in the rear. You do have to slam the doors, but all part of being a really neat Rat Rod. Heater works, lights, signals all work. I have taken this truck on 300 mile plus trips a few times already. Including a trip to Nashville from Chicago. Here is what I have into it: New front calipers, New inner and outer bearings, New rotors, New upper and lower Ball joints, New alignment, New Master cylinder, new vacuum booster, New borgeson steering shaft, New aluminum radiator, New scheid Custom 6X.016 injectors. @$200.00 a piece. New 64/74/14 Industrial injection Turbo $2,200.00, New 4" down pipe, New PDI exhaust header, New Air DOG 2 165 GPH fuel system with 1/2 fuel line, New 16 gallon fuel cell, Injection pump is tweaked with new fuel pin and parts. Truck does not have A/C but the compressor is there, New serpentine belt, New front turn signals and lenses, New alternator, KYB shocks on the front, suspension is lowered about 2" all the way around, 1969 Pontiac door handles, dual antennas, Cowl vent works, Four brand new BF Goodrich tires on the rear, Truck was painted "Patina" with blue base, then Primer over the Blue and sanded out. Also has been cleared. The Motor and chassis have about 115,000 miles on them. In 4th and 5th gear this truck will pull away from a 12 second car. I have 16K into this truck, plus a lot of time. I do not think I have owned anything that was this neat. It sounds exactly like a Big Rig with a nicer turbo. 4" straight pipe with a turn down. The truck is Titled as a 1956 Ford, and have a clear Illinois title in hand. You can still do a lot to this truck, If you put head studs in it, you could raise the boost to 60 lbs....Thanks, any questions please ask.
