Vehicle Detail

Up for auction we have a !929 Chevrolet three window coupe. This car is about 80 to 85% restored . My son was restoring this car for the man who had owned it for sixty one years. The car was given to him by his father, so he could drive himself and his brother to school from their ranch in Wyoming He kept it in dry storage always thinking of getting it restored . But he lost his fight with cancer before it was done. The car has been rewooded the metal work completed ,it has been painted (except for the hood and front fenders, paint included ) The bumpers and radiator shell are just back from the platers as is the guage cluster which had an $1800.00 dollar restoration job .The engine was proffessionally rebuilt at a cost of $3500.00 Included but not installed is a complete Hampton Coach interior kit The car needs tires and tubes and running board mats This car has had almost $40,000 in labor and material invested to date..The widow is not interested in it , we have been instructed to sell it. I will try to answer any questions you may have by e-mail ,I may have to talk to my son on some points, The car could be viewed prior to sale, but will require arrangements to be made in advance. you can reach me by phone at 810-658-8036 Thanks for looking Russ : note we cannot ship this vehicle it is for local pickup only we will be available to help load. I have been asked about the wiring . There is a new in the box wiring harness included The widow has a clear title in her name .which will have to be signed and sent to us after the sale This will be transfered after the all funds clear I thought a few photo captions might help. In pic,1 the paint was just shot and has not been cut and polished yet.Following are several shots of parts that are plated and ready for installation The pic with the tan panel next to the car shows the color of the interior kit.Two shots of the engine show the rebuilt generator and starter (all plugs ,wires and distributor parts are included . As we were taking the pictures my son was finding parts he had ordered in advance, still in their bags new, door handles, trunk handle, and a myriad of small parts . The paint used was R+M and there is paint for the front fenders and hood. I have been asked several times why the front sheet metal is not painted. It just gets in the way when you are finishing the engine and you risk damage to the new paint. Also several people have inquired about my son finishing it for them . That is not possible due to his new work schedule.I can't emphasize enough this will be a thousand point car when finished. The AR sedan in the background of one the photos was restored 8 yrs ago and still wins awards whenever it is shown. In 2009 my son built a 28 A roadster that took best in show at the Sloan summer fair here in Flint Mi.,that car is now in a museum in Fla.This a chance to finish screwing together a mostly finished car and then you take credit for the whole job. Thanks for looking Russ N
