Vehicle Detail
1960 Chevy 1 ton panel truck with only 5,700 original miles. This truck was built in Oakland,California,& sold new by PC Sacchi Chevrolet in Arcata,CA,where it was purchased by Simpson Redwood Company, where it was used as an ambulace,& later as a haz-mat truck,in the small logging town of Korbel,California. It had the ambulace conversion done by Pacific Body Builders, in Portland,Oregon.Korbel has ties to the Kobel Champagne family. When I bought this truck in August,2010,it had only 5,131 miles on it. I had new tires (5) put on it (STA tires - American made),I had all new brakes put on it at 5,500 miles,& recently replaced the clutch slave cylinder, plus a few other misc.items. This truck's in incredible condition! The interior looks like it's just a few years old, with original paint. The exterior was originally White, but repainted Red.The paint's starting to get a little thin in a couple of areas, but looks great from 20 feet. There is only very minor rust on it,as it was kept in a shed until it was bought from the seller that I got it from. The underside is almost rust-free also,& this truck's made out of Real- steel - the way they used to make them."It drives the way an old truck should drive" said the mechanic that did the brakes on it. Panel trucks were almost always bought as work trucks,so not very many survive in this condition. It's 20 feet long,& has a GVW of 10,000,so would make a cool old tow rig for your vintage car (you could update the engine,or run a higher rear end to make it more highway- friendly). This truck seems to get nothing but positive comments, which I've never had happen with any other vehicle I've owned. I'm selling this because I don't have any indoor storage, plus we have 11 vehicles around here, & i could use the money to work on some of the other ones.It took a lot of soul searching to come to the decision to put it up for sale,as I don't think I'll ever find another one like it,in this condition, with this few miles on it.I like to see it go to a good home. I have almost every registration on it since new, with the original receipt to register it,owner's manual, shop manual, plus a few misc.items. This truck is sold "As is/Where is",as it's a used vehicle. It's advertsed locally,so I have the right to end the auction early, but I'd like to see it sold outside the area,so I don't kick myself for selling it. On Dec-06-11 at 15:49:39 PST, seller added the following information: The reserve has been lowered on the truck. It's much lower than the other panel truck on eBay. I decided also to not advertise it locally. It took me a long time to figure out how to add information on this listing. On Dec-06-11 at 17:32:52 PST, seller added the following information: I also need to list the things that need to be fixed: * The exhaust has a small leak at the bottom of the down pipe - I'll have it repaired. * The radiator just stated leaking - I can work something out on that * The interior/dash lights don't work * The gas guage doesn't work * The horn button's missing * The top of the heater box is missing - the way I got it.I have another box that goes with it * 1 high-beam headlight is out - I have a friend that siad I could get a "T3" one from him Try & find a used vehicle that doesn't need something - I haven't come accross one yet. I'd have absolutely no problem with someone taking this truck to a mechanic for inspection. Any questions? - please ask.
