You are bidding on a rarely seen 1974 Ford LTD 2 door coupe in excellent original condition. This car has only had two owners its entire life and is in incredible original condition. The body has no rust anywhere and no dents or damage except for a small dent in the top corner of the trunk lid. The original blue paint is in very nice condition with some fading on the hood but still very presentable. This car had special order dealer installed opera windows put in when new as many Ford dealers offered them as an option due to their popularity on the Lincoln Continentals at the time. The vinyl top is in perfect condition with no cracks, wrinkles, or rust bubbles underneath anywhere. The original Ford 400ci 2bbl engine has only 69,000 original miles on it and starts and runs beautifully. It was recently tuned up and a new water pump was installed along with new spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor. Also has all new belts and hoses and a new alternator. All parts used were Ford Motorcraft brand for authenticity. This was the transition year for Ford in converting from points ignition to electronic ignition and this car is equipped with the first generation electronic ignition system. The air conditioning has been converted to R134A and blows ice cold. Also has a new master cylinder and brakes and the tires are about 85%. A new exhaust system including muffler and tailpipe is installed. The dash and steering wheel are perfect with no cracks or fading and the headliner is perfect and looks new. All gauges and options work beautifully except the clock (I haven't seen one that worked yet). The original Ford dealer installed floor mats are there and in beautiful condition as is the original owners manual and dealer sales brochure. The original spare tire is also present and has never been used. Overall this is an incredible time capsule and is ready to drive and enjoy just as it is. No repairs needed, no concerns, even the oil has just been changed so you can get in and drive to your nearest car show or across the country. Less than 30% of Ford's LTD and Galaxie production were two door hardtops for 1974 and even as a kid I don't remember seeing too many of these around, although I remember lots of four door models. You certainly don't see many of them anymore especially in this condition and this is a great example of what a full sized Ford used to be back in the day.
