Up for bids is a 1962 SAAB 96. This has a 3 cylinder 2 stroke engine that runs great & has a 4 speed trany but is very hard to get into 3 and 4 gear. I have owned the car for about 12 years. The car was hit in the front end and was repaired by a body shop owner but he was unable to get it to shift in to 3 or 4 gear. Car sat behind the body shop for all most 20 years and then was moved to a farm and that was were I bought it from. Over the last 10 years I have removed the engine and trany to fix the shifting problem only to find that it was not in the trany but in the shifter (it will need a new steering coulom to fix the problem. I replaced all 6 wheel cylinders, all 4 SS brake hoses, all new brake lines, new shocks, new tires, new water pump, all new hoses, hose clamps, and belt, new plugs, cap & rotor, new battery, new light bulbs, new seat covers, and many others in the last 5 years. About 1 year ago a tree fell on it and I now I think it's time for it to go. What is bad is the headliner, the roof, the floor is very rusty, dash is out of a newer 96 (1964). The inner door panels and rear panels are from a Monte Carlo. All lights work but left blinker. Master cylinder has been resleived with SS liner and rebuild. Wipers and blower motor work but washers don't work and wipers park in the up spot. Windshield is plexy glass and has a small crack. On Nov-30-11 at 11:44:10 PST, seller added the following information:Clean Wisconsin title and has new plates good untile Nov. 2012. Speedo show 10936 on it and I have no idea what the miles are but I would say the must be very low. The cost of the parts that I have put in to this car are way more then my starting bid. If I have no bider by the last 2 days I may pull the listing. This is a very fun car to drive and I really hate to sell it.
