1971 Opel GT classic On Nov-28-11 at 23:30:45 PST, seller added the following information: 1971 Opel GT. Classic Opel GT in mostly original condition. A very nice find that came from the second owner here in California. Automatic transmission model with the stock 1.9 4 cyl. engine. Recently had a re-paint in the original "Opel Orange", so the paint looks awesome, great shine. No rust that I can find, including in the infamous battery tray/floor area. Floor boards are also pretty solid. A reported 65,400 miles on this model, but don't know if they are the actual miles. Drives good and currently running ok, but I am having the Carburator rebuilt this week, so she should run great for the new owner. New battery and newer tires on the car (P185/70R13), as well as new beauty rings for the wheels. Headlights rotate fine and lock in place. Comes with the original chrome gas cap, wheels, center caps and spare/jack. Amber rear turn signal lenses have been switched to all red (to imitate the Corvette look). The engine area was power washed and detailed. Aluminum cover was painted in a gun-metal gray. All 3 pieces of the lower front "mesh" grille are in good shape and were re-painted. INTERIOR:The interior is nice for the most part but does have some wear in the usual places. The dash top is exceptional for the year with only 2 cracks and no warping. Also the "glove box" is intact. Stereo has been upgraded to a Pioneer CD player with some 5" rear speakers.Seats have rips in them and carpet is complete and intact, but showing signs of wear in several places. Back panel carpet is worn a lot and should be re-done. Door panels are excellent as is lower console and rear deck. headliner is complete but does have some scattered minor rips. original Opel steering wheel. Roll down windows go up and down smoothly with no problems. All glass is intact and rear glass has some older tint on them. Rear 1/4 windows to pop out about 3 inches for venting. FLAWS:Please keep in mind that this is a 40 year old car and not perfect. Front bumper is dented along the top (and some of the chrome is stripped off), and I would change it if I were to keep it, also the underside of the front is crunched (see pic), looks like it bottomed out at one point and the driver side front bumperette is damaged and missing the rubber. The rear red side markers are damaged. The rear OPEL "L" letter is missing. Two of the tail light rims/rings are chipped. The rear edge trim piece is dented in places and screwed in. There is a chrome plug on the top rear deck, perhaps plugging a long lost antenna. The front nose area and above the front logo is wavy. Seats have rips on them. The remote "foot switch" for the wipers is not working. The blower fan is working, but the lower "slider" controls are kind of stuck, and I don't want to force them. ********** PAYMENT TERMS ARE AS FOLLOWS: ********** I accept: C.O.D if you are local, m.o., cashier's check, personal check (allow to clear).
